I Am making a complain against Intoxalock I had install April 3 2025 I had nothing but trouble with it i have call them and email them saying the machine is defect. the don't want to replace it. I work Mon thur Thurs 4pm to 2pm. It works good Mon, Tues, sometimes on Weds. Thurs it fails **** been keep record on when its fails me April 23 which fail it cost ***** plus ***** to get unlock. Then June ******* It was Weds June 13 unlock cost *****plus ***** The again June 19 which is Thurs. Then June 27, 2025. This is pattern with them. I also have to pay ***** every two weeks . I have contacted have been contacted by interlock and I recently got my phone stolen and I need the number to the person who called me to resolve the issue because she helped with my account balance but I have another account balance which I haven't been able to use my car and she knows that and she told me that she would clear the the balance as long as I can get it in to get it looked at and then they'll credit that to my account but I have no way to get a hold of her I need someone to get a hold of me please thank youBusiness Response

I am submitting this complaint against Intoxalock (Consumer Safety Technology, LLC) for enrolling me in their ignition interlock program despite knowing I was ineligible under California *** guidelines. On June 23, 2025, I paid $201 to one of their assigned installers and had an Intoxalock device installed in my car. I was issued a certificate of completion. However, when I presented it to the **** I was told I was not eligible for the program due to the nature of my DUI not involving alcohol. *** has since confirmed that Intoxalock was informed of my ineligibility by the *** MAU on June 18. Despite this, Intoxalock proceeded with installation, billing, and has refused to refund me or provide documentation of their claimed communication with the ***.I have requested: A full refund of the installation cost, reimbursement for the removal costs I will now incur due to their misrepresentation. After speaking to them by phone, they refused to refund me, but agreed to waive their early lease termination fees. Intoxalocks refusal to take accountability and refund me has created an unnecessary hardship as I not only paid the installation cost for their intoxalock, I also purchased a vehicle that I can't drive and car insurance and a SR22 that I can't use.Business Response

I have been an Intoxalock customer for one year, with Customer ID *******. *** paid all fees on time and remained in full compliance throughout the program. Unfortunately, I experienced multiple equipment failures with their device, which made my car inoperable and required towing at my own expense.This equipment failure caused me to miss a single calibration in the final month of service. Intoxalock then reported this as a violation to the State of Tennessee, which is now blocking the reinstatement of my license. I cannot work in my intended job as a driver due to this issue.I also requested a transaction report to challenge the violation and was told I needed to pay for itbut no payment method or instructions were given. Intoxalock's management team has reached out to Mr. ******** to address his concerns. We acknowledge any negative experience he may have had with our company and apologize for any frustration caused.
Unfortunately, Mr. ******** missed a required calibration appointment in the final month of his program. As a result, this was reported as a violation, which rendered him ineligible for a compliance check until June 2, 2026, per TDOS guidelines. This is not a decision made by Intoxalock, but a regulatory requirement enforced by the state.
As a gesture of goodwill and in recognition of Mr. ********* prior compliance, we have extended three months of free service to his account.
We understand the impact this situation has had on Mr. ******** and remain committed to supporting him within the boundaries of state regulations. Should he have further questions, we encourage them to contact our customer support team directly. at ************.

Business failed to ship unit on time or correctly as I am voluntary, and my car was disabled for 2.5 days. Again.Timeline this time:6.10 ******* ordered the unit which failed to ship automatically, and said it would be at home home in 1-2 business days 6.13 ******* confirmed unit would arrive 6.14 6.14 ****** confirmed it would arrive by EOD. Surprise, it did not. Given confirmation number is ******** 6.15 ****** advised to contact "specialized team" and gave me the options to navigate the phone system. Reached a very rude person who told me everything I had been told was incorrect, the unit would arrive that coming Wed, and then escalated me to someone else when I asked about options 6.15 Spoke to someone regarding the issues, requesting removal, refund for service fee, cancellation of lease. They said to call back during the week because there was no supervisor there that could help with fees 6.16 Routed to the "removal" option per the previous *** to get back to her team. Caspian (sp?) stated that everything I was told, even by the previous ***, was incorrect. Set an appointment for removal, verified I would not be charged, and that the tech should call them on the day or removal at ************. Several times verified I would not be charged. I was told to contact admin@ intox... for the leasing issues, refund on monthly fee 6.17 Email sent to admin email detailing issues, asking for removal, lease cancellation, and refund of June fees paid for a service I did not get and that disabled my car. No response or acknowledgement to date 6.20 Went to appt at service center, they called intox to verify payment and were told that I was given bad information and they would not pay for removal. Unit has yet to be removed and no response from business Previous attempts to resolve issues through BBB have failed- they still owe me $134.41 for charges incurred during a previous failure. for any undue frustration she incurred.After speaking with Ms. Mischker, Intoxalock has applied the previous requested credit of $134.41 as well as this month's lease payment back to her account. We have implemented a few steps to prevent this delay in her handhelds getting sent in a timely manner going forward and is not going to remove at this time. We also waived any administrative closing and early termination fees if she were to decide and remove.

I had Intoxalock device installed in my vehicle. ever since the initial install of the device I had experienced issues with the devices being installed in my vehicle and noticed intermittent electrical issues with my vehicle during my lease including issues after device was removed from my vehicle. I have made several complaints to intoxalock regarding my vehicle and the issues I was experiencing as a result of them installing and uninstalling multiple devices in my vehicle. fast forward to may 5, 2025 still experiencing issues with my ignition system I submitted a damage claim and uploaded all associated documents and proof of the condition of wiring for my ignition system which was found by my mechanic while doing repairs on my vehicle. there were incorrectly placed wiring including improperly installed wiring. the was loose connections and exposed wiring to my ignition system which could have caused my vehicle to catch fire at any given time due to the incorrect wiring touching various metal components under my dash. after explaining all this to multiple representatives of this company including supervisors, I was told the damage claim process can take up to 30 days. I was patient and gave them time to come up with a solution as to how to rectify my concern and return my vehicle to its proper state. this being a huge safety concern, I have not been able to drive my vehicle since may 5, 2025. i called Intoxalock Thursday June 12, ************************************************************************************* their process that I have followed. I was told by the representative they are unaware of why I have not been contacted and they would submit an email to find out information. I called back 8 days later to seek info again and after speaking with a supervisor who was rude and hung up on me when I asked for information, I am left with no answers and no vehicle.Business Response

After reviewing the initial complaint submitted on May 20, 2025, regarding the
reported damage to his vehicle related to the removal of the equipment completed in March 2023, we
extended a goodwill offer of a $300 refund to assist with his concerns, regardless of the investigation outcome and
despite the significant time lapse of over two years. However, Mr. Clarke Jr.
declined this offer.

I am rejecting this response because:
Given the nature of my safety/functionality concerns regarding my vehicle and the damage caused by Intoxalock, them offering $300 to offfset approximately $1,500 that I have already paid out of pocket in an effort to correct their mistake and keep my car from catching on fire, is unacceptable. I also am rejecting this offer because of their claim that the investigation decision is final whenever I receive it in the mail. So basically they are saying however they decide to accept any fault is completely up to them even though it is clear they are at fault when it comes to the damage my vehicle. In my opinion, it’s either they accept full responsibility and provide refunds and assistance to correct the damage or they deny responsibility at which point I will be seeking legal advice in filing a lawsuit against this company. I do not want me accepting a partial payout to affect whatever decision is made so as I told the rep who contacted me, they can keep their partial payout until a final decision is made at which point I will act accordingly based on the final decision.

Intoxalock intentionally misleads consumers with pricing and guarantees by initiating the terms by claiming the device is 104 and some change monthly but charge you 81 and some every two weeks witch would be over 160 per month then takes advantage of an already poor situation by making it worse there machines give violations for temperatures being to high in the vehicle for example in ********* wa it was 90 degrees outside in late may they gave me a violation 10 witch is temperature failure and forced me to pay 115 dollars between a 81 dollar charge to them along with a 35 dollar charge to the service center and they are aware of this issue and claim it happens because of the temperature sensor in the device, this happened to me twice and when I rightly complained they told me I was cry baby and hung up Intoxalock is nothing more than a predatory company making issues worse and further making people regain freedom to drive impossible, I understand that I put myself in the position to be forced to deal with them but predatory companies like this should be better regulated and monitoredBusiness Response

I've had the breathalyze machine in my car from Intoxalock due to a DUI I had. I've had the device since November 2023 and completed my time November 2024. I am still trying to get them to allow me to get the device removed from my vehicle. I've emailed them the form from Penndot several times. I've called them and even texted with a representative from their business and still have not heard anything about how to get my box removed. The couple responses I did receive make no sense to me. They told me I was to email the compliance letter from *******. I did. They then told me I had the wrong letter and so I paid Penndot for a copy of the letter requested and sent that. It was the same letter I already sent them. They told me they never received it. Now none of my emails are going through to them it's almost like they blocked me and they ARE STILL CHARGING ME for this device. I'm very upset and tired of paying for a device I no longer need. I have my unrestricted driver's licence back and I'm cleared on penndot end. I feel like I am being scammed for my money. I just cancelled my bank account yesterday so they stop taking my money. I'd like my money back that they have taken from me since November 2024. I have tried to resolve this problem with them directly to no avail. Please help me. My car sits for months now and I can't drive it because it needs re calibration and I can't keep paying for this and need help. Thank you.Business Response

The first letter we received 02/27 was the incorrect letter needed from PenDOT, then the one scanned in 06/10 was the correct eligibility letter from ****** we are required to have on file before running a compliance check.

I had intoxolock ignition system on my car. There equipment caused me to have my car towed. I made numerous attempts to have the reimbursement me per our contract. I provide all paperwork however the never reimburse me or credit credited my account. I have proof of all emails and proof of payment.I did not pay my last invoice because they owed me for the tow. I did everything.They took my remaining balance and put it in my credit report.
