Transaction occurred on 6/5/2025 in the amount of $75. Currently, I need to pay another $75 to unlock my device that in "LOCK OUT" and "VIOLATION 2". This notification has happened 3 times from 5/21/25-6/13/2025. -I was charged on 6/5/2025 and the device reset. -I had a calibration on 6/9/2025 that reset the "LOCK OUT" and "VIOLATION 2" that occurred again. The calibration seemed to fix the "LOCK OUT" and "VIOLATION 2".-"LOCK OUT" and "VIOLATION 2" occurred again yesterday 6/13/2025. I visited the shop where I get my calibration, and the owner said I likely needed a new device. He said he has seen issues with these devices before.I have attached screen shots of the time I have spent on hold with this company trying to rectify this issue. Additionally, I have used their chat option only to be told to call. I want to be reimbursed for the original $75, and I wat my current bill adjusted. I also want another device. I have used this company and their service for nearly two years. I would note that in the past, I was given a new device and my car was towed at the company's expense because my car would not start.Business Response

We had the intoxalock system installed 2/21/2021 in response to charges in **************** for ******* ******** due to a one year suspension. March 2022 our vehicle with the device was totaled and unrecoverable. Previous to the accidence Intoxalock sent the Compliance form for Zacks license restoration. ********************** insured us the device was covered under insurance and the compliance form had been submitted to *******. Every attempt to restore Zacks license has been met with the response that Intoxalock has not confirmed the Compliance form. **** received a letter from ******* with an indefinite suspension due to Intoxalock failure to confirm compliance. We have contacted Intoxalock by phone and in writing for three years over 50 times and they assure us they have sent the form. ******* insists that Intoxalock has not sent the Compliance form. This has been going on for YEARS now.Business Response

contact with Ms. Randolph. We sincerely regret any negative experience she may
have had and apologize for any inconvenience or frustration cause.
We have been in direct communication with Ms. Randolph to
address her concerns and assist with her request for a Declaration of
Compliance. We explained that the Declaration can only be issued once we
receive the unrestricted license eligibility notice, which must be provided by the customer. If data is available
through the eligibility date, we are able to run a compliance check, and if all
requirements are met, the Declaration will be provided.
In this instance, the Declaration was not issued because the
unit was removed after the vehicle was totaled, and the eligibility notice has not yet been submitted. Ms. Randolph has indicated that she will attempt to obtain
the required documentation. We remain committed to assisting her throughout
this process and will promptly review the information once it is received.

I am filing a formal complaint against Intoxalock (Consumer Safety Technology, LLC) after nearly three years of use following a first-time DUI offense. During this time, I have experienced repeated issues with faulty equipment, inaccurate BAC readings, battery drainage, surprise lockouts, and dismissive customer service. These issues have resulted in unjust charges, program extensions, and ongoing hardship.Originally, I was scheduled to have the device removed over two years ago. However, Ive been caught in a cycle of malfunctions, false violations, and delays. One recurring problem is being charged for lockouts on the same day as scheduled calibrationswithout any prior notice or indication of a problem. The device frequently drains my car battery, making it inoperable for days and causing me to miss appointments.Most recently, I missed a calibration by two days due to a dead battery. I had no failed BACs, tampering, or skipped tests. Despite this, I was penalized with an additional 120-day extension. The device often flickers, freezes, or records false BACsconveniently just before Im eligible for removal. Every time I call to dispute these issues, I receive the same scripted responses with no resolution.I have spent thousands of dollars over the years, and Intoxalock continues to avoid accountability. After joining a group of 500+ users with similar experiences, I believe these are not isolated incidents but part of a pattern of exploitation.I respectfully urge the BBB to investigate Intoxalocks practices, including unjust lockout charges, recurring battery drain issues, and questionable program extensions. As a resolution, we have applied a $350 credit to Mr. *********** account for the inconvenience. However, we informed him that we are unable to override the failed compliance check, as we must adhere to ************* regulations. During our conversation, we also provided guidance on how to avoid future lockouts and offered a free device inspection, which he chose to decline. He was advised to reach out if he changes his mind.

The device failed to work for a 2nd time. I was charged for the *** and for the customer service team who "made the appointment" at the tow service. The total was $249.33 and I could include the cost of the **** to get car to a safe location but I didn't. They paid for the replacement installation, about $25, but nothing else.Business Response

Attempts by the Intoxalock management team to reach out to
Mr. Spitzer and address his expressed concerns have been made. However, despite
our efforts, direct contact has unfortunately not been established. Voicemail
messages were left on June 17, 18 and 19 and an email was sent on June 17. As
of now, we have not received a response.
We deeply regret any negative experience Mr. Spitzer may
have encountered with our company and sincerely apologize for any frustration
this situation may have caused. After reviewing his complaint regarding the
lockout fee, a $80.54 courtesy credit has been applied to his Intoxalock account.

I had interlock in my car for 10 months no issues the last 30 days the equipment failed several times resulting in voiliations that has accumulated over 400 dollars right in time for compliance report from state which i obviously will fail unable to remove the device After 3rd service inspection in 2 weeks the service center finally came back with equipment issues. Faulty device wiring etc Interlock has not done the proper business ethics like refunded my money nor have they reported to proper authority about the issues with the faulty equipment resulting in me not to be able to remove the device when the lease date is up ! In fact Extending my lease date another 6 months is it ironic right before I get the device removed these issues popped up thus keeping the product in my car for the future costing me more money while intoxalock makes more money ! service technician saying its the equipment no fault to my own. At the very least report these issues to proper authority so I am able to remove the device! ********************** needs to be held accountable for their actions or non actions in this matter . To the Better Business Bureau,I am filing an urgent complaint against Intoxalock Ignition Interlock for false reporting a violation to the Maryland MVA despite clear evidence that their equipment was faulty.On May 4, their device triggered a violation alert due to a malfunction. This was not caused by me. An authorized inspector confirmed the issue, and a replacement unit was shipped and installed on May 6. Their own records show this.Despite that, Intoxalock still reported the violation to the ***. This is not just careless its reckless. It puts my license and legal record at risk over a situation they caused.I have already emailed Intoxalock demanding a correction. They have no excuse not to fix this immediately. On 6-6-25 I had the windows tinted on my vehicle. The mechanic turned key further than he should have. When I got my car back my intoxalock device told me I had 6 days until a lockout. On 6-9-25 when I started my vehicle it told me I had 3 days until lockout. So I called the business that services my intoxalock to come in on 6-10-25. Later on in the afternoon of the 9th my device went from 3 days til lock out to "unit not serviced in time". It did not cut my car off, it did not require me to blow in the unit defeating the whole purpose of intoxalock. I called intoxalock customer service and he gave me a run around and told me I was in active lockout mode and needed to take it to have it recalibrated and will cost me $75! I asked how it went from 6 days to 3 days to active lockout in 3 and a half days. He had no explanation to give me except I need to pay the $75 to clear this lockout. This can't be legal on many levels. 1- I am driving my car in a "active" lockout, 2- It went from service device in 6 days to active lock out in 3 days! 3- Intockalock not giving me a reason for any of it, just telling me it is what it is. I was also told I would be getting a refund for "device" protection for the months I had it due to they not specifying they charge you every 2 weeks for it and not avone time charge.
