      May 2, 2025, I had intoxalock installed on my vehicle. Device was not hooked up properly. Had to bring the vehicle back to installer on May 7, 8 and 9 since it takes the rookie 3 days to troubleshoot and still haven't fixed the discrepancy. Install cost me ****** and intoxalock is billing me current even when the unit is dangerous to me since it's acting weird and will submit a false reading to secretary of state as it has already done twice now, suspending my drivers license for 2 months until hearing is held. This company is supposed to help people get a license not frustrate their customers over false allegations, and the right to provide for your family by having a way to get to work

      for losing my license three times within three years under false allegations for tampering, I decline any offer the business offers me.  I will take back the complaint only if my services would be free with intoxalock, since they have caused me emotional distress and uncertainty.

      A member of the Intoxalock management team has been in contact with *** ******* We deeply regret any negative experience he may have encountered with our company and sincerely apologize for any frustration this situation may have caused.

      During our conversation with *** ******,we clarified that Intoxalock did not report a tampering incident.However, we are required to report all potential violation-related events within 5 days. It is ultimately the states responsibility to determine which events constitute tampering. As part of the appeal process, the state places a temporary suspension on the drivers license, which is standard procedure.

      In regard to *** ****** desired outcome, we have issued an additional goodwill credit of $295.32 to his account,equivalent to two months of lease charges. This brings the total credits to $570.32. We hope that *** ****** finds this to be a satisfactory resolution to his concerns.

      I am rejecting this response because you have stated in the business feedback that it is the states discretion to either violate the tamper or not.  How can they make this call when there is not sufficient evidence indicating in the log addressed to the state of Michigan any issues the company and the consumer are experiencing.  That is the one flaw I have with intoxalock, that they do not provide information of the situation that the consumer is experiencing, especially if the consumer calls to complain about an issue that the device is having.  My license was suspended 3 times even after all my phone calls with the company complaining about a malfunctioning device, a work order was produced by the company to have the device troubleshooted and replaced, and none of this information was given to the state that I had been having issues.  The state did not see the work order or anything that states the device had been replaced within that time frame.  It's the communication issue between the company and the state that violates consumer law.  I pay for a service that is supposed to help me drive again, and the lack of communication between the company and state is what I'm paying for, and if the information is inadequate or missing, then the company causes frustration and emotional distress to the consumer over their lack of and missing information.  This causing my license to be taken away, my job taken away, the house, kids meals, it's a chain reaction causing tremendous hardship in a person's life.

      this all started with a breathalyzer device I had installed December 6 2023 in my 1998 Oldsmobile cutlass I had the device in that vehicle for 1 year and 10 months and I had 0 issues.i then transfered the device from that vehicle to my current 2007 GMC Envoy shortly after I noticed that the alarm sound telling you that you have to give a sample wasn't as loud as it used to be and it was inconsistent but appeared to work otherwise. then on November 20th I got my first lock out I couldn't figure out why it had happened so I called customer service and asked if they knew why I had a lock out they said I had a missed rolling retest I tried to dispute it because for 1 they told me that it was because of a missed test at 12;30 ish that was when I took my lunch break and I have the device mounted were there is no way I cant see it light up when it goes off to give a retest I made the bracket myself so something like this would never happen #2 the device didn't go into a lock out until around 6;30 it did not say it at 4:30 when I went to go home from work that day I also told them that the alarm sound wasn't that loud any more and some times skipped beeps and that there had to be a mistake or something wasn't right I asked to speak to a manager was told I couldn't they said I could have the device serviced and I said ok I had to take it to a service station to have the lock out cleared and I thought they were checking the device at same time so after they gave it back to me I asked did everything check out they said yes its fine but it turns out they didn't schedule the service I didn't realize it wasn't until 2 months later when I had even more issues and same thing happened this time they told me to bring it in for a service I brought it service center said nothing was scheduled so I called again and they said they would sceadule qagain they replaced unit several more things happened this is a longer story then there's room to type can someone contact me for rest story

      Intoxalock wants me to pay 68 dollars to close out my account that I dont use. Its just an app and I have already paid all the fees.

      Got this device installed on the 28th of April. I didn't get the right training. Got 5 lock outs the first month. And the last 2 lock out that happened. The device went off when my car was off!. Imand I have to pay 160$ to unlock those. The device is not supposed to go on when the car is off. Too it to the shop and they said theres nothing wrong with the machine and I find that not believe able. I feel like this is a scam corporate and I want all my money back from the installation to all the lock outs I had. I shouldn't have to go through such stressful things just to obtain my driver's license. I have ********** going through the same things I am but they going through a different company theydon't have such problems. I wish I had a camera to show proof. But I do t yet at this time. And when I asked for a refund for the first time when I was new when I got my second lock out. The said they will refund me. But didn't say it was going to my next bill. Didn't get it.

      I have an IID breathalizer in my GMC ****** truck since june 2024 by way of this company intoxalock. The equipment has been faulty though out the time I have had this lease and asked for new equipment and was informed that I would be sent one but never was. Now in my last month to go before I remove this device from my vehicle, the unit is malfunctioning and going off when I turn off my vehicle. This has not happen in the 10 months having this device. I informed this company that this was not my fault and I never missed an time to blow on the unit. Because of the unit going off once I turned my truck off, I received a lock out. I went to the company in gardena five star auto glass and tint to have the lock out fixed. That day the system went faulty and they claimed the unit locked out again. So I am being charged for two lock outs. I went back to five star auto glass and tint and the owner called intoxalock and told them that it was not my fault and they should remove the lock out charges. Intoxalock refuse to listen to the owner and still claim it was not the device fault. They are charging me $164.24 because they know I am schedule to remove this device in June. This is not right and I did nothing wrong to deserve these charges.

      I am writing to file a formal complaint against Intoxalock regarding the ongoing issues my husband has faced with their service and equipment. The situation has caused undue financial hardship, extended consequences for a first-time offense, and a significant amount of distress. I believe these actions fall under unfair business practices, and I am seeking ************* husband was required to use Intoxalocks device as part of his sentence following a first-time DUI offense. Due to repeated malfunctions of the device, he has faced numerous problems that are not his fault. On several occasions, the device malfunctioned and locked him out, which results in a $75 fee per lockout. More troubling is that these malfunctions have been reported as failed tests to the **** leading to the extension of his sentencing period by an additional year. This extension, which was imposed despite the fact that my husband successfully passed the test immediately following these failures, has caused him to be unfairly penalized for something beyond his control.During a cross-country road trip, my husband used the device multiple times without issue, but was once again locked out due to a malfunction. This error should not have been reported as a violation by Intoxalock, but it was. Consequently, my husband faced an additional year of monitoring and fees due to issues entirely outside of his control. The ongoing charges, monthly fees, service fees, and the lockout fees, which continue to accumulate are an undue financial burden which has become overwhelming, and my husband is effectively trapped in a system that punishes him for issues created by Intoxalocks faulty equipment and business practices. This situation has turned what should have been a temporary requirement into a years long ordeal for a first-time offense.I request that the BBB assist in resolving this matter and hold Intoxalock accountable for these unfair practices.

      A member of the Intoxalock leadership team has made multiple attempts to connect with you in an effort to discuss and ultimately, resolve the issue.  It is not Intoxalocks intent to deceive or mislead any customers, particularly when it comes to the costs they incur while leasing the interlock equipment.  We recognize that obtaining & managing an interlock can be quite a confusing process and it is our goal to make that experience as easy as possible.  Still, we know that mistakes or miscommunication may occur and if it does, we are committed to reaching an amicable resolution to any issue with the customer.

      I called them to set up and appointment to get one of their devices installed per my court order. I then decided to cancel the appointment and switch companies due to hearing negative experiences about this company. I called the sales *** that I worked with to cancel and he sent me to customer service. **************** then sent me back to the sales *** and I kept going back and forth for a very long time before I finally told the sales *** I needed to speak to his manager. At this point, he finally said he cancelled my appointment. I demanded a confirmation email which he said he would send. He never sent me the email and now I am receiving reminder emails about my still scheduled appointment!!! They are liars and scammers and will not help you.

      The problems began a mere week after installation. The machine was deemed faulty by the service center the machine magically failed to start. Their under developed and technology incompetent mobile stated I was in a lockout, when the machine itself made no indication of a lockout status. I took the machine immediately to the service center, where after waiting 2 hours for a customer care representative, the machine was deemed operational. On May 2, 2025, I drove the vehicle a short distance to take a disabled family member to work. I returned home at 1:56, and shut the vehicle off until 3:05pm. I started the vehicle, as normalno warnings, no codesnothing. I returned home shortly and turned off the vehicle. Nothing was out of the ordinary. Around 6:30PM, I went to start the vehicle and provide a sample, and only then did it say I was in violation for rolling vehicle violation. When I inquired as to what this was, the rude agent said I failed to provide a sample when the vehicle was in operation. I asked for the times of the supposed incident, and they stated it was at 2:03. I stated this was impossible, as I have home security camera footage showing the vehicle was parked and turned off from 1:56 to 3:05. I was then directed to the most sadistic of individuals, a supervisor who first identified themselves as ******** but then changed their name to ********. She claims her employee ID number is ********, but I highly doubt this is truthful. I then asked for the exact times of th so called violation so I could compare it with previous information. She attempted to extort me saying in order to get evidence, I had to pay $25 per log. She stated it was in my lease agreement, to which I have reviewed again, and in fact it does not make any mention of any charges for logs. I have also noticed additional fees such as a protection fee which I never consented to. I also have been charged random internet fees with no explanation or consent to charge.

      After our discussion, Intoxalock agreed to credit the lockout in question, applied a $100.00 rebate and one month credit for Mr. ****** time and inconvenience.

      I have a breathalyzer from Intoxalock and they are in breach of contract since December and they refuse to send my compliance form keeping me from receiving my license from ****** pendot had requested it in December and in January was requested by *************** president and still no response and they have been charging me all this time and Ive done my part

      Intoxalock sent his Certificate of Compliance to ****** on 01/26 and again on 05/01.  They should have the necessary information for him to get his unrestricted driver's license.  Once that is obtained, we can set up the removal appointment.
