Intoxalock has very bad customer service. I have had my device for over a year and I’m stuck with it for another few months. Currently I’m in a back and forth battle with their customer service team because they audited my account and say I need to have my camera(faulty camera) replaced but when I call them to schedule it they tell my that they can’t reach the service center and I need to call back. I have called close to 10-15 times just on this issue and now my device shows that I’ll have a lockout service in two days due to this issue. Dealing with this company so far has been the single greatest punishment I’ve ever had and the worst thing is that they are risking my livelihood because the people that work there are unwilling to help me find a place that will pick up and do the maintenance on their device.

This company is playing with my life right now as I write. I've had this device over 3 months ago, over what the court ordered. I gave them all the paperwork they wanted from the NJMVC and they said they never received it all the time.
They keep charging me $53 every biweekly.
I'll be losing my job at the end of this month because of this company.
My landlord already kicked me out because of my DUI.
There is nothing else to do but to leave this world.
I don't know what to do.
I tried hospice, but you need to be terminally ill.
When I die, let it be known that this company and the state of NJ are the one's who helped.
      I'm done

If the option for no stars existed, I would have chosen that. I have been using this service since March 2022. In that time, I've had one device completely fail on me leaving me stranded and having to be replaced which left me without a car for days. Then, I have received notifications from the app on my phone that my device is in "lock out," though the actual device in my vehicle does not display a lockout and is functional. Intoxalock then charges me a ridiculous amount of money to reset my device. I have never missed a payment or calibration. I feel like this company is gouging folks for more money because they know we are "stuck."

Where do I start. Well I know my lease started on 7/27/2021. It was an agreement for 1 Year. So It should have been up July 27, 2022. Then I was informed that my 1 year lease was really supposed to be up 8/31.2022. Which is when my actual Limited Pa drivers license expired. So, I'll give them that extra month. Though I shouldn't have to. I gave the state the year I was sentenced and I shouldn't have had to give them a day longer. Here it is, 1/27/2023, 7 months later than the time I should have been able to get the device removed, (give or take a week or two for getting an appointment at the service center) Intoxalock makes it impossible for anyone to speak to someone anyone can ever talk to so they can figure out any kind of issue, especially if it has anything to do with them being wrong. Thankfully I knew to contact the BBB and do some research and file yet another complaint. Not that there is any single claims that are worse than any other. I just know that in my situation, something is way wrong here. Nobody should have to deal with any of this. Yes I put myself in the situation to have to get an interlock device installed in my vehicle, but I also know that my troubles and all the fees that came along with them have been a lesson learned. I don't know who intoxalock thinks they are but I should not have to suffer another day longer without my vehicle. Which is still locked out in my garage. Because I refuse to pay them their almost $500.00 bill + the mechanics fee ($70-$90) to get MY truck back. It's not their truck. It's mine. They have refused to send the dmv any sort of letter of compliance for me thinking it would keep me from getting my license back. Finally yesterday 1/26/23 I got my license back. They lied to me many times since the summer of 2022. Said they sent the dmv the letter of compliance 5 times since July, 2022 but would not give me any kind of proof to show the state. I mean I could go on and on about this company but I'm out of characters

BE WARNED! Company is an absolute scam. I am from NJ and received my 1st DUI in 26 to 27 years of driving. Before we even get into Intaxolock please be aware NJ had very strict laws and getting out of a DUI completely is a non existent hope. Now back to intoxalock:

I was was ordered to have this device on for 3 months. Paid $330 install fee and have had a total of 7 lockouts @ $80 ea to intoxalock and $30 ea to the Nj state approved recalibration shop since. Haven't spoken to anyone from the company yet because of all the nightmare stories of getting no reprieve. However; I can attest to the company robbing people through false readings and violations - taking advantage of your shame and guilt, kicking you when your down and out.

The court makes you pay an "expert" $800 to write a report that says I suffer from GERD and that this GERD can affect a breathalyzer reading. Despite the fact that I blew a .10 after several hours of my last drink I was still given a dui because of being over the states .08 limit. In addition, the report states that anyone 50 lbs overweight should not be able to pass the field sobriety test. I did not pass because I am a 270 lb male. None of these technically mattered except for reducing the sentence to a 3 month interlock as opposed to 7 months - like the state was doing me a fav.
Due this condition ( GERD) altering my BAC during initial startup test and rolling retest I've had 5 lockouts due to false and altered readings based on my gerd factor. The company doesn't give you a record of the data. This goes to the monitoring authority (dmv in nj) who may be involved in this scam as well. I wouldn't be surprised if someone in dmv is getting fat of all these companies by charging people exuberant fees.
Do yourself a favor and take this to media outlets, social media influencer. Senators or whoever ears you can reach. And open up a second bank account to move your money out of the intoxalock linked account so they can't drain your life.

Have been taking my device inside the house because of the cold weather. This morning I go to start my vehicle and it’s showing a lock out and that I need to get it serviced within 4 days. As soon as I get out of work I go to get it serviced and the guy tells me I have to talk to intoxalock before he can service it, something about a missed payment. I’ve never missed a payment with them as they take the money directly out of my account every 2 weeks. When I called intoxalock they told that when I reconnected the device it may have been loose. I’m getting penalized $75 for a possible loose connection. This seems very unfair and feel like I’m being scammed. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.

I'd give zero stars if possible. I've had this device less than 2 weeks. Install had my car for 36 HOURS because device was defective upon install. Had to let them keep my car until overnight replacement arrived so 2 days without my car. Locked out after stop at store day after picking up, the "exhale/inhale/exhale" must each happen within 1/10th of a second o it won't register and you try again. Locked out again (week later) now I have to get it replaced which means I'll be without my car AGAIN. Did my intake for my DUI and they even said, DAMN! You should NEVER get intoxalock.

I got my device installed last February of 2020, and have had nothing but issues my unit. I’ve locked out about 16-20 times since driving.I’ve only made 2 calibration days throughout my first year of having it. Customer service is completely the worst service I’ve ever encountered. They refuse to rectify the problem. I’ve taken my car and device to get Inspected, paid for it, they swapped out my device. Got to work this morning in the parking lot, turned off car and went straight to lockout-service required. Draining my soul, my time, and my bank account. Honestly feel like I’m getting extorted for my money. Would recommend trying another company before trying Intoxalock. They have never refunded/credited my account for any of the mishaps.

And I have tried to contact Intoxalock and never got anything but that automated shit never got to talk to a real person

Honestly worst place. During the time my husband had his device we encountered multiple fees. Lockouts and the customer service the worst one representative told my husband if he did need it he would have this problem which I understand but it is also why they have a job. The job is to do the job and not be rude about it. But the hidden fees the worst my husband recently got it off and they are trying to charge a road side assistance fee for WHAT. Who knows and good luck anyone answering. And when they do representative alway so rude. Glad we are over this because those hidden fees of $50 or $75 add up plus the biweekly pay and 3 month calibration. They also messed that up when it was set up. My battery was dying every month and once we needed to get it fixed the other guy we moved to told us the set up was all wrong we shouldn’t have paid for that. So my review would have negative starts if possible.
