Approximately 1.5 years ago, Stericycle changed their charges, without notice, and started charging me for service, when they didn't even provide services. So I called and they admitted there was a billing error, and would fix it. And wanted me to sign a contract to continue service with them. After review of the contract, I decided not to sign it, and canceled service with them. They continued to send bills and attempted service, after I had canceled. I contacted them multiple times, and told them on numerous occasions about canceling their service. But they kept sending invoices, and we finally did get another *** that confirmed the cancelation several months ago, and I thought it was resolved, but I just got another invoice for $3402.22 with mentioning still being a customer. They have not been to my office for over a year and a half, if not longer. I need them to adjust amount owed to $0. As I never signed a contract and never agreed to anything or any changes, and canceled them, multiple times, telling them that i had canceled them. And I need them to stop sending me invoices and accept that I had canceled a long time ago, and have not used their service for a long time. I would appreciate any help in this matter. On *** 16, 2025 Stericycle failed to pick up medical waste as per the terms of the agreement. Per their records the driver arrived at 8:12am and provided a photo of my door, but no proof of attempt to contact the office and no notification was left for a missed pickup. Our listed hours of operation are 9am-5pm. Invoiced for *** services and autopayment made, when no service was preformed. I contacted customer service one week later to inquire about the missed pickup. **************** was unaware of missed pickup. Pickup rescheduled June 6 and verified business hours 9am-3pm. Contacted the customer service line on June 6 at 11am requesting to know when driver would arrive. The customer service had no way to contact driver. No pickup was made on June 6. Finally on June 11 pick up was preformed. Invoice sent for June and paid on time. 6 weeks failure of services on the part of Stericycle caused a backlog of medical waste to occur in my office. No attempt was made to remedy this until I escalated the issue and requested termination of services. They are now attempting to extort $5750 from me for "liquidated damages" when they are the ones in breach of contract and poor rendering of services.Initial Complaint

Our company was originally contracted with *****-it. The company was then sold to Steri-cyle. I was told by a *****-it representative there would be no cancelation fee if we allowed the agreement terminate. We allowed the agreement to terminate and now we are being charged a cancellation fee of $104.72. I contracted a ********************** and asked about the charge. They could not answer the question and said someone from the company would contact me. I didn't receive a call however I did receive an email threating collections. I would never recommend this company to any other business, please share this with others so they don't have to experience this.Business Response

Stericycle is trying to collect money on an invoice from me after multiple attempts to close my account after they failed to service my location as they agreed upon. Im being told I was serviced April 9th and March 18th. They said they equipment was dropped off on March 18th. Absolutely no equipment was ever given to me. No medical waste was ever picked up or taken. This is all false and fraudulent coming from the company Stericycle. The delivery driver claimed to have gone to my old location and was told I wasnt there anymore. Which is completely false. I have never given any other location information to this company other than the location I was requesting service at. The sales person assured me multiple times that it was such a quick and easy way to dispose of my medical waste. This is been nothing short of a nightmare. Im now concerned that the delivery driver has more information about me than I provided with the company and I am concerned for my safety against this company. I spoke with a supervisor months ago who assured me he understood my frustration and I would have my account cancelled and taken care of. I will not be providing any payment to this company since they did not provide me any service. Yet are still fraudulently claiming that they did.Business Response

I am the owner of **********, a Connecticut-based business that contracted with Stericycle for recurring medical waste disposal. Over time, we experienced repeated service inconsistencies and poor communication. I raised these concerns directly with Stericycles ************ Specialist, *** ******, and requested termination of the contract.Despite acknowledging that issues had occurred, Stericycle insists on enforcing a long-term agreement and imposing a substantial early termination fee (50% of remaining balance) even though we no longer wish to continue due to service dissatisfaction.I made multiple attempts to resolve this matter professionally and gave Stericycle the opportunity to terminate the contract without penalty. Their continued refusal leaves me no choice but to file this complaint.I am requesting that the account be terminated without cancellation penalties and that no further billing be applied.Business Response

We negotiated into service with stericycle starting in March. We have reached out to the business to express our needs and services and they have failed to uphold their contract with us. We have yet to receive the goods negotiated in the contract and when we attempt to communicate with them they fail to respond. One time we had a retention specialist finally reach out promising to help only to then refuse as well to answer our emails or calls. They continue to send invoices knowing the services are incorrect. Their complete lack of consideration, care, or compliance with an agreement has me concerned for the health care industry they service.Business Response

I signed up with Stericycle under the impression that my medical waste disposal service would begin in April, with my first pickup in May. Instead, I received a bill dated March 18, even though no services were provided and no pickups were made.Additionally, the 60-month contract I was asked to sign did not disclose any monthly fee or pricing structure, which I now understand to be $97.50/month. This was never clearly communicated in writing. When I contacted customer service to cancel due to services not being rendered, I was told I still owe over $300 and that I could be charged early termination fees totaling nearly $3,000 all without a single pickup occurring.Stericycle provided only a cardboard box, a red biohazard bag, and a roll of packing tape. That is not $300+ worth of service. Their customer service was also rude and dismissive when I attempted to resolve the issue.Resolution Sought:I am requesting a full refund of the $149.16 I already paid, cancellation of the remaining $195.08 balance, and termination of my contract without penalty.Business Response

Stericycle (ID: ***********, We have a current contract with stericycle to collect our sharps from my orthodontic office and realize we are not using the service enough to justify the cost. We have chosen not to renew our contract and have given 6 weeks notice. We never received a reminder of renewal and have been told our contract states we need to give 8 weeks notice so the 5 year contract will renew automatically and our penalty is $4,482.23. We have not started the new contract and are not authorizing them to initiate another 5 year contract. We were never given notice and this penalty is not proportional since we have given 6 weeks notice to cancel prior to the contract starting. They have told us they will waive the penalty if we sign onto a new contract which feeling threatening. We no longer want to do business with themBusiness Response

Multiple deductions were taken from our business bank account on May 7th after I attempted to pay $1,726.60 online. A total of $6,906.64 was deducted from our bank account on that day, a screenshot is attached. I have been seeking resolution to this in the form of a refund since May 7th. We are to be refunded $5,180.04, the difference between what they deducted and what we owed at the time. I am unable to reach anyone in the ***, even at the corporate office in ********. It has been an absolute nightmare to get this resolved without speaking directly to someone in the *** that can handle the issue. The e-mail below was the response I received on May 7th.
