      I respectfully write to your esteemed office to formally complain about Stericycles lack of decorum in the immediate request for ************* Termination for ************************* under my account - ******************************, MD last April 2020 in the *******************. Please note that I've also been earnestly trying to cancel entire services prior to the expiration date of October 2021.This was in turn Voided with an e-mail sent last July 11, 2022 RE: Stericycle Document on ************* *********** classified as ''Opportunity Closed/Lost.'' When the circumstance presented itself, Stericycle was immediately contacted, and I was instead given a lower fee rather than Cancelling the Service altogether, seeming like nothing could be done about the situation.We, (myself and my practice - ************* CLINIC, ***** firmly believe that this response is unfair because Stericycle has an obligation to its clients, as well as due respect and accordance with US Laws. There has been no Validity of Debt, and no autorenew clause stipulated when *********************** reached out last April 13, 2020 that if Stericycle does not hear back within the next 5 business days, the offer will expire and the account will remain active and as it currently stands.Weve also sent another Service Termination Letter last August 17, 2022 addressed to Stericycles Executive Leadership, the head of Sales and Client Retention, Head of Sales and *********************, their Sales Executive. We continuously reiterate disputing the ongoing accumulating charges accorded to my practice and now amounting to $6,254.31. We are therefore officially reporting Stericycle on this for undermining the law, there are email correspondences, and phone calls made to immediately request for service cancellation. Stericycle even sent another contract with a lower price to keep from lapsing into a lost client, which *** continued to refuse to engage in and explicitly expressed my ******* decision to continue to cancel. *** made several attempts to cancel in the months leading up to the renewal of 2021. The term was from November 2016 to November 2020, but I'm still being unfairly charged, 50% more of the Contract rate for another auto-renewal of 5 years. I did my due diligence the entire time and tried to contact everyone at Stericycle for the case of Contract Cancelation. The US Legislature clearly states that businesses can allow a consumer to accept an automatic renewal or continuous service offer online shall allow a consumer to terminate the automatic renewal or continuous service exclusively online, at will, and without engaging any further steps that obstruct or delay the consumers ability to terminate the automatic renewal or continuous service immediately. The business shall provide a method of termination that is online in the form of either of the following:(A) A prominently located direct link or button which may be located within either a customer account or profile, or within either device or user settings.(B) By an immediately accessible termination email formatted and provided by the business that a consumer can send to the business without additional information.(2) The termination requirements of this subdivision apply to the automatic renewal terms and continuous service terms of the contract and the remaining provisions of the contract continue to be governed by all applicable laws and regulations.To wit, none of these methods of termination of services ever reached / endorsed/ offered to/ sent to us. There was no address/ contact no. and a contact person provided by Stericycle to formalize this. Moreover, Stericycle remained unresponsive to the Request to ************** and had no clear language on how and to who to submit the Cancellation in writing. The law clearly states that Companies must provide an easy, straightforward method for cancellation. The state amended the law providing additional protections to consumers.As stated in the ********** Automatic Renewal Law companies are clearly requiredto disclose the material terms before a consumer subscribes to an automatic renewal program and to obtain affirmative consent to the terms before charging a consumer. The law requires companies to provide confirmation to the consumer including the terms, a description of the Cancellation Policy, information about how to cancel, and an explanation that consumers may cancel before being charged if they were enrolled in a free trial. Stericycle **** never had any of these terms and information readily available, and whats worst is that it needs to be sought after and even asked for, which is terrible ***************** Pursuant to the latest laws, companies are required to provide reminders about the renewal15 to 45 days before it occursto customers who had agreed to an initial contract term lasting at least one year. This renewal notice must inform consumers that renewal will occur and provide information about the length of the renewal term and how to cancel. *********** mandate provides consumers with an online cancellation option. You must allow consumers to terminate the automatic renewal at will and without engaging any further steps that obstruct or delay the consumers ability to terminate instantly. Like **********, ********, where Stericycles head office is located has an automatic renewal law in place and elected to update its Automatic Contract Renewal Act. House Bill **** added a few new requirements, beginning with the need to disclose the Automatic Renewal Clause clearly and conspicuously in the contract, including the procedure for cancellation. Companies are required to provide written notice of the renewal to the consumer 30 to 60 days before the cancellation deadline. The notice must clearly and conspicuously disclose that the contract will renew unless the consumer cancels and inform the consumer how to obtain details about the renewal provision and cancellation procedure. Any cancellation method must be cost-effective, timely, and easy to use. As a client I have not even been accorded such respect. The automatic renewal offer must also coincide with an option to terminate the contract. Additionally, Stericycle is in direct violation of their $295 Settlemet Agreement last ***************************************************************************** their original contracts and contracts that automatically renewed with only a small window to cancel before it re-upped and discontinue the pricing practices at the core of the lawsuit within 60 days of preliminary approval by the court. These small businesses affected by the price increases were identified by Stericycle as "small quantity" (SQ) customers. When these SQ customers called to complain about the price increases, according to the lawsuit, they were given false reasons for the price increases by Stericycle's customer service representatives. According to the suit, those accounts made up 97 percent of Stericycle's customers worldwide. In 2013, an investigation of Stericycle's billing software found Steri-Safe customers' price increases were programmed to occur regularly as often as every six months, which plaintiffs alleged was contrary to the contract terms that Stericycle had agreed to, according to court documents. The contracts state that increases can occur only when "operational changes" are implemented "to comply with documented changes in the law" or to "address cost escalation." According to the complaint,The only reason we continued paying is that I wanted to keep a good standing and to end things amicably, in good professional terms. Weve been trying to cancel continuously but Stericycle still sends backdated bills and now even forwarded me to your ****************** all the while not providing me of any service during this point in time and even going as far as bill reduction to keep me and my practice in their stead. Evidently, this has become extremely troublesome, causing undue strain on myself and my practice. To resolve this problem, we hope your office will use discernment and assist in the settlement of this matter with Stericycle.I would like a written statement explaining Stericycle's next steps to finally closing my account with them, and what you will do about this complaint.I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible to resolve this problem and consider legal alternatives.       We received a packet welcoming us to Stericycle in March of this year (2022), we contacted them because we had previously been doing our business with a company called LB ************************************* We weren't made aware that there had been a service provider change, or sale of the business. I spoke with representative ***** ***** who explained to me that they had purchased accounts from LB ************************************* I let her know that we had no idea this change had happened, that they had come to pick up sharps/waste at both our locations without letting us know there had been a change. They sent their staff into our location to handle pickup services without letting us know. I let her know that we no longer want to continue service with them, that we weren't given a choice to do business with their company and we choose not to continue. She let me know that she was sorry to hear that and that she would like me to send that in writing to her email. I sent that on 3/22/22. We corresponded by email, I stopped receiving responses from her , so I called again on 3/29/22. I explained that we should not be charged to end service with a company we never agreed to do business. We were never given a choice to do business with Stericycle, they just started completing the services that we had agreed to with LB ************************************* now that we have been made aware of the changes, we are choosing to discontinue services. She stated she is discussing what to do next with her manager and will get back to me. She let me know that we could close our accounts, but we would be charged termination fees for both our locations due to ending contracts early. They never gave us the option to end service with them, they told us that we were bound under contract, but we never signed a contract with Stericycle. We received one invoice from them in March, and then we were sent to collections. We shouldn't be charged for choosing to leave.

      My company was using a medical waste disposal company that Stericycle purchased. With that previous company I had NO contract for length of service and only paid for services when I called them for pickup of our business' medical waste. Stericycle sent us a folder stating they were taking over for the previous company, but it had no helpful data other than their name and marketing materials. No phone number to call. No account #. And NO CONTRACT that I signed with them. In May 2022 someone from Stericycle showed up at my business attempting to collect our medical waste, stating we had been enrolled pickup schedule for every 2 months WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION OR REQUEST. I refused his services, informed him I have no interest in using Stericycle as our provider, and asked him not to come back again. 6/3/22 someone apparently attempted pickup without our request or permission but our office was closed. On 7/19/22 I then called Stericycle & spoke with account specialist ******* who stated she would change our pick up schedule from every 2 months to "on call". I again informed her I did not want anything to do with stericycle & to take us off their schedule completely. She stated she would send a note to transportation & gave me reference# ********. Since that time we continue to get unwanted visits from this company, despite never agreeing to work with them in the first place, never calling for an "on demand pickup" and then getting a bill for their unwanted services after the fact. 9/26/22 I sent an email to ******************************************** stating we wanted immediate cancelation of all services & all personnel will not be allowed into the suite if they showed up. We continue to get visits & bills for "minimum stop fees" despite my every effort to make it clear we have never wanted anything to do with stericycle and do not want them anywhere near our practice!

      Nobody has spoken with me, that is a an outright lie.  I received an email stating the service line was being removed, no mention was made of canceling any of the bogus charges. As I did not agree to have Stericycle be my medical waste vendor in the first place, I want all charges, invoices, or past due balances canceled!

      In March of 2022 we were umbrella'd in under a company that used Stericycle for biohazard pick up. We were told we needed to notify Stericycle when needing services and we were listed along with many other site pickups under one account name (not our name). We were charged via 3rd party for when we used Stericycle as needed (on only 2 occasions). We were billed correctly but I had concerns because my business was listed along with multitude of other vet clinics we have no affiliation with. In August 2022 our business credit card was charged $332.25 for services we never used. In Sept 2022, our credit card was charged $256.07 for services we never used = $588.32. I have been trying to get our money refunded to us since August and I am constantly being shuffled from one department to another. One would think this is a billing situation but billing shuffles me off to the account rep who washes his hands of me and shuffles me back to billing. One day I was on the phone for 2 hours and talked to 6 different people. I have emailed, sent copies of my credit card bill to show we were incorrectly charged and I am getting nowhere. I am promised I will be called back and we are going on weeks. People keep telling me this isn't "their department" and no-one knows how this account was set up. I am trying to explain how my invoices are incorrect and I am hitting dead ends. This company is horrible with customer service and helping to find answers and to find help with my situation. I was told it would cost $750 to cancel but I never signed up, I never signed a contract, we were swept in when the company we originally dealt with became a customer. I have spent WEEKS with calls and emails trying to have someone listen and help me. I keep getting shuffled from one department to another. This company does not listen or take accountability in whatever mistake they made. I have my invoices to prove we had money stolen from us by taking unauthorized payment.

      I am rejecting this response because:  I am waiting on our reimbursement check.  Stericycle did say it could take up to 21 days for return of funds.  Until the check has been delivered to our business -****************************, I do not consider this matter rectified.  I received another bill via my email notifying me of a $65 fee for ******* services that do not belong to us.  My credit card number is no longer active in the Stericycle account but I want to make sure I do not receive a printed invoice in the mail.  Stericycle's comment "they have contacted me" is correct, the reimbursement and billing notification changes are still pending.

      We had signed a contract with HWM in december 2021 for medical waste management who emerged with stericycle . The pick up/drop off was every 12 weeks but we never got any services despite calling them . I emailed the rep without any response . We waited 5 months till May and then we looked for another company to get our waste removed. This is totally unacceptable and we reached out again by phone to let them know we have had enough of waiting and this is a breech of contract and we are going with another company who will be reliable and actually honor the contract as signed . The account manager ********************* then started calling our office and trying to offer us a lower rate , when we declined they started sending a cancellation fee of $750. I wrote multiple emails to ********************* without any reply back and the invoice would stop for 1 month and then again show up . I got invoice in email in May 2022 an then in July 2022 and now in the end of Sept 2022 I got my first paper invoice from Stericycle's collection ***** This is taking up too much time and aggravation. They breeched the contract and never started the services as signed . They never ever came to provide any services and they are trying to scam me now to pay them a cancellation fee . I need them to take ownership and stop such bad and unethical practices . This is a shame .

      This Stericycle company never serviced us as per the contract . We signed a contract with HWM in Dec ******************************** Dec 2021 and every 12 weeks from then as attached in email and the contract . They never came . We called with no response and emailed them too as attached. We are a medical office and need to protect our patients, employees and have a safe environment . After waiting over 5 months we needed to get out medical waste out . This company then decided to call us and tell us they took over in Jan 2022 from HWM and now want to charge us a cancellation fee for services that were never provided to us since signing the contract . Not only did they not honor the contract they have breached the contract . We should have have services every 12 weeks starting dec 2021 and we had none . This is an unethical and fraud company. Instead of taking ownership and accountability for their neglect and poor mismanagement they are the one who want money from us . This has caused a lot of problems for our office and we are the ones suffered and still have to deal with the fraudulent charges .  Also they are liars - ***** and trying to imply that one of my staff members ******** who is a medical assistant agreed for the cancellation charges . As attached email she sent to me it states clearly she did not , this is yet another cheap tactics of these folks to extort money from customers when they are the ones who breached the contract and never provided any services from the start . ******** did not sign any contract and my follow up emails to ********************* states just that which I sent the same day May 12th and then in July as well without any response from him . 

      They need to stop the harassment and conduct business with professional dignity. It is shame that a company of that level has to stoop to such levels and specially when they have never honored the contract . No SERVICES  EVER STARTED Since signing the contract in dec 2021 .

      Stericycle is im breach of contract. It has not performed services yet has sent bills fraudulently. Then trying to cancel contract due to their negligence is attempting to charge half of the contract. The representative was aggressive and hostile. When asked to not be so aggressive they did not acquiesce. I asked to speak to their supervisor or a manager with more authority to resolve the situation and have not been contacted.

      I was never informed of a cancellation clause and no where in the signature page entails a cancellation clause. The sales rep never informed me of this when I originally signed up for an account and mentioned that I could cancel or downgrade my plan anytime. However, I have not been using their services for a year now and wanted to cancel the plan. When I called, they mentioned I signed a contract with a cancellation clause. That surprised me since no mention of this was made by the sales rep. ** where on the signature page is there a cancellation clause; however, on the second page they list terms and conditions that I never agreed to indicating a cancellation fee. I have been making payments with no complaints for a service I haven't used so when I tried to cancel, they mentioned to me that I had to pay an enormous cancellation fee. I informed them this was never given to me but they mentioned it was stated in the contract. This is predatory behavior and outrageous that they would not disclose this and place these terms on a second page AFTER the signature page so it can be easily ignored. I mentioned if conversations are being recorded for quality purposes, why they never disclosed this information and they kept informing me that it was in the contract. I would like to cancel this contract due to their shady tactics. The sales rep wanted me to go on a discounted plan but failed to mention that this would be another contract, which is my issue to begin with. I am done with this company and their shady business tactics! I would like to cancel this service since I am not using it at all with no cancellation fees since these were never mentioned and I was told at the time I could cancel anytime! I have been making payments with no complaints and just want to rid of this company with almost predatory business tactics.

      I am rejecting this response because:I have tried to call and nobody is there to pick up during business hours. I am seeing patients all day and have made attempts already to resolve this. I have already spent an hour on a previous call with an sales agent and was not able to resolve this. I was told I am unable to talk to a supervisor which was frustrating and was told a supervisor would call me the next day, in which nobody did. The customer support with this company is frustrating and I am growing increasingly despondent. I would like to resolve this issue by having my services cancelled for not disclosing any information in regards to a cancellation fee. I was never informed of this and the contract page does not disclose this on the signature page but has terms on the second page that can be easily misleading.

      There are two issues at the moment with Stericycle that have been dragging on for months without resolution despite our best efforts.First, they are claiming we owe a large balance but will not provide us any detail regarding what specifically is due and will not provide copies of the invoices. Whenever I reach out to attempt to resolve the issue directly, I get automated messages and get nowhere. We cannot blindly make payment as a matter of internal control, policy, and due to the second serious issue below.My next step is a formal report to *** regulators (NYS DFS, Comptroller's Office).Second, Stericycle has continued to charge ** *** sales tax on invoices despite our status as a *** tax exempt organization. We have repeatedly provided our *** sales tax exemption document over the course of months with the request to correct the account going forward and to adjust the account for amounts charged in error (in accordance with *** law). These constant requests have been ignored and invoices continue to come in with sales tax. I suspect this plays a role in why they won't send us a statement of what is actually due for reconciliation.
