11/9/202 I scheduled an appoint with Biolife Plasma. I emailed once and called twice into their center twice to ask if my autoimmune condition AS is eligible to donate, so I don't waste my time coming in, nor giving out my personal information to a private company if I don't have to. I was not given an accurate or truthful l response in the calls or email about my question. I was told that it's unknown whether I can donate, and I had to come in to do a physical with the nurse to determine eligibility for my condition. After spending 100 minutes, I sat down with the nurse for literally one minute. I told her I had AS, she did not what it was and looked it up. It took her about 15 seconds to tell me that condition makes you ineligible to donate at Biolife regardless of circumstance. It was that simple. There was no physical or medical necessity for me having to talk to a nurse, or waste 100minutes of my time when this question could have be answered directly at any time I asked. ****************** and other organizations do permit donations with autoimmune disorders depending on their current state, so for these organizations it might make sense. If Biolife has a list of conditions are ineligible, I understand and I respect that. However, when a patient is disclosing a condition and asking for eligibility requirements, that Biolife has a direct answer to, that information should be disclosed at that time. I talked to the manager at the center after words, and I was told Biolife's policy is not reveal conditions that make you ineligible because people can then try to hide it. 1) This is irrelevant because I already disclosed a condition, and the information was withheld from me, luring me into their center. 2) This is contradictory to their own company policy itself. They disclose many conditions that will make you ineligible such as HIV, hepatitis, having paid ***, recent tattoos, gay ***, etc, etc, some of which can be hidden and impossible to know.

I went to Biolife in ******* ***** to donate after I saw a promotional advertisement. After waiting for 2 1/2 hours I was told I could not donate due to a medication I take. I had called ahead to be sure this was ok. Oh absolutely! Come right in. Turns out they lied. So for over two hours they wasted my time knowni could not donate. Then I was given a voucher for $50 for my time. And they then refused to honor the voucher they had just given me.

I used a coupon for a series of donations for a total of ******. My last donation was supposed to be in the amount of ******. They only gave me *****. When I called to inquire, **** told me my coupon expired after 30 days, my coupon was entered on 8/25/2023 and my last donation was on 9/28/2023.and they wouldn't honor the ****** amount. I still have the coupon and it clearly states "All donations under this coupon must be completed within 35 days upon accepting this offer. Coupon countdown starts the day the coupon is entered. So I still have 2 more days to complete.

I've been going to biolife plasma in ******** ******* for about 7 or 8 months on a regular basis. Three weeks ago I went and after a very long wait I finally sat in the chair to have the procedure done, the technician did not even position herself to stick me she crammed it in my arm it hurts so bad! During the process the machine continued to stop repetitively that's the first sign something's wrong the needle was either pushed in too far or not positioned correctly the technician just continue to tell me if I unhooked I would not be compensated eventually I could not handle it anymore I had to be unhooked I just wanted to leave they only paid me $20 I was supposed to get 40 3 days later I went back that was my second time for the week they were supposed to pay me 80 they only paid me $40 they only considered that my first donation because I only went a little under half of the visit the first time so I complained manager calls he adds another 20 to my account I go today to donate the technician ***** that was doing the pre-screening was bending my finger backwards as she was squeezing extremely hard to get my blood out I finally told her you're hurting my finger and she kind of slams it back at me and says well then forget it after that I'm told that I had to be deferred because when my temperature was being taken it was saying modified or something like that that I could not donate I had to leave she asked if I'd had something to drink I said yes she told me well that's what it is but you're deferred called another technician over whom also would not let me wait a few minutes for the cooling to go down so they could get an accurate temperature they just deferred me and we're very rude so I drove all the way over there it's 6:30 in the morning just to be sent out of there with absolutely no payment. I don't think that these people should be allowed to work in this field you are supposed to have some sort of bedside manner to work in the medical field.

I went to donate. I was almost done when something crawled on my face and I slapped I off with the same are that had the needle and pushed the needle in more. They should have used the other arm but they did not. They only gave me 60 for 474 ml of plasma snd I was only required to give 691. They should have at least given me half my money which would have bee $40. I will never in life don't with biolife again. That's robbery.

Went to donate plasma. I noticed that the person who poked my finger was not changing her gloves in between clients. I asked her to change her gloves before she poked my finger. She refused and said they do not have to change their gloves unless they have blood on them. They are dealing with peoples blood and I feel should be changing them in between clients. I've see most of them do this but this one particular person refused

This is a Plasma donation center. They pay you to donate. There is a promo for new donors which is $700 that's spread out by 8 donations. I went in for my first appointment ever (one can make appointments on their app) and I was given a 1 hour physical exam/questionnaire by one of their nurses the point of this exam is to ensure that the donor is eligible to donate plasma. I answered many questions, showed them the medications I am on, etc. I was approved to donate, and I donated that day. The process of donation is 1) you go in and answer the same questionnaire every time which takes about 5 minutes 2)you wait in line then they take your vitals and a blood sample to test your protein/iron 3) you donate. The first few times I was successful, I had my extra money and life was good. UNTIL One day, I came in as usual, I get to the vitals check counter and everything was all normal but my heart rate was high! They told me according to *** regulations my heart rate cannot be above 100beats per minute but they aren't doing it for a minute. They said I can do a re-check and I can wait 5 or 10 minutes for the re-check. I was sent to a corner to wait for 10 minutes, they checked me and again, my heart rate was above their legal limit. Concerned for my own health I went to the Doctor and I was told I am having anxiety at this donation place but otherwise I am healthy. I have gone back to Biolife Plasma Services to donate several several times now and have been turned away almost every single time. Out of 30 visits, I have gotten to donate 5 times. One day I asked a nurse if I could possibly do anything to prove it is just anxiety, they gave me a form for my Doctor to fill out. I waited two weeks and I turned my form in, then came back to donate. They again turned me away and apologized that the nurse who told me about the form was wrong. I never got my $700 as promised, and I believe they are scamming people. They take you in a few times then send you away to save money.

Last week, I attempted to donate plasma at Biolife plasma. Due to previous diagnoses of bipolar disorder, ptsd, and diabetes, I was required to provide letters from my doctor stating I could donate plasma. None of my medications were on the deferral list. This appears to be discrimination based on my disability. Upon further research, this appears to be a corporate policy. I am asking this be reviewed.
