1 starTheir insured hit my car, which we reported immediately. The police report clearly indicates that she was at fault. They reached out her her and she will not respond. Instead of expediting the claim, they said that they would wait an additional two weeks before moving forward on fixing our car. We are forced to subrogate the claim. I will never be their customer.Review fromMarie W

1 starThe claim is due to two separate water leaks that caused significant damages to our home. The adjuster, Robert R*****, has nothing but a nightmare to deal with. Robert R***** has been very difficult getting in contact with or returning calls/emails, overriding and disregarding professionals and experts of the subject matter such as the licensed plumber and general contractor’s evaluations, reports, and estimates. Despite the adjuster speaking personally with the plumber and the general contractor, he continues to be dismissive. Two different licensed plumbers verified that the leak has not been ongoing and that there is NO EVIDENCE of any ongoing leaks. The general contractor was present at the time Robert R***** came to the home to evaluate everything and he did not even acknowledge the contractor and he was willing to discuss every detail, but Robert acted as if he was not even there. The lack of professionalism and rational is staggering.
Can someone please help me better understand how an 80k estimate from the general contractor and a 10k offer from Robert R***** is reasonable by any means. How does he get the power to override an expert’s evaluations and he has no license or training about pluming or building a home. To top it off, how does the insurance tells us to get the tear out down and mitigation done and refuses to pay the third party what is owed? Again, Robert rejected their evaluations and report.
I, we, feel very insulted and disregarded by this adjuster and his unjustifiable estimate. It is truly disappointing, almost a slap in the face, to believe the advertisement that led to choosing State Farm as our insurance, with the assumption of “like a good neighbor, State Farm is there”, yet we experience the worst nightmare. Our home is only 4 years old, and the amount of stress this experience has caused my husband, myself, and my family has been disturbing.Review fromJeffrey M

1 starI was sitting at a red light and hit from the rear by a distracted driver who insured by State Farm. I was thrown across the center divider and into on coming traffic. This happened March 19th 2025 - today is May 29th. Police reports verify what happened. State Farm took my car and deemed it a TOTAL LOSS. I have received ZERO compensation, and cannot get anyone from the company to return phone calls, or help me in any way. I have found this insurance company to be a SCAM. I am in the process of reporting them to the BBB and Virginia's Insurance Oversight Division.Review fromAllison H

1 starCancelled my policy WITHOUT INFORMING ME me due to a mistake on their end. I was left uninsured for nearly a month with no notice from them. I didn't know until the MVA contacted me and fined me $200 for being uninsured.
Absolutely horrendous.
One of their agents outright recommended I switch to a different provider when I spoke with them. That should show you what this company is like.Review fromAudra G

1 starThey’re not a good neighbor, and State Farm was not there for us! Waist of money insurance! When home disaster struck, they drug out the decision process, gave the runaround, and switched claim over to new adjusters mid process. We were originally told they would send S****** (I do not recommend them btw) to inspect and send report. We were told from there State Farm makes a decision. Lie! Our claim was given to a new adjuster Kirk A******* who did not even reach out to us. 1st adjuster Kameron told us about Kirk. When I called Kirk he was rude saying he had no idea about why I was calling him. I said I was left a message from Kameron telling me to contact you because you are the new adjuster. He checked and then said he’d need to inspect. He no showed for appt and sent his very young assistant Keon who said we needed to get a plumber to inspect. Why was this not told from the start? He said S****** should have never been sent and he had no info on them. From there we hired a plumber. Still waiting for promised inspection reimbursement! Then Keon acted clueless even though he said to get a plumber. He said did S****** not ispect plumbing. I said no, that’s why you said get a plumber! I then provided the plumber inspection. Keon spouted off fixing and who we use is up to us and we probably are not getting insurance help. That’s not a mature and professional response Keon! I said I know how this works, that the choice whom we use and how to fix is our decision. I said any homeowner with home insurance is going to go through insurance 1st. That’s the point of PAYING for home property damage insurance! Each adjuster and rep at State Farm gave different instructions for us and no one took accountability for such a poor lack of professionalism or mishandling of our claim. They closed the claim. No call from State Farm, no explanation, no care in the world for their PAID client! We found out it was closed in the app and calling to ask ourselves. We are insurance shopping!Review fromAngela L

1 starA State Farm insured driver totaled my car earlier in May and it has been nothing short of a headache every single day so far. The claim was reported that day (on a Saturday) and assigned to an adjuster that isn't available on weekends (we'll call him "C"). Spoke with him on Monday and he said because I went to the hospital I would be connected to another adjuster for injury. Never heard from "C" again. Got a call from "M" from the injury department who asked I submit an itemized billing statement from the visits. She followed up the call with an email, and I replied to that email twice with no reply. Finally called them and she was like, "my direct number is in my email". Her email signature includes SF's phone number, then "ext" and her direct line. I told her she should probably fix that because ext means extension. I sent the billing statement over as soon as I could and asked how to submit for lost wages. I got a separate email asking for a W-2 or pay stub and asking for the billing statement for my second visit to the hospital, when they were both on the same document. I sent a paystub and the statement a 2nd time. Got another email saying they couldn't open the encrypted paystub so I sent it another way and they then asked for the billing statement again, so I sent it a 3rd time. Followed up that email today asking if they had what they needed - crickets. For the personal property portion with "X", he forgot to email me the paperwork, and not only am I getting diddly for my paid-off car but did you know that the property in the car won't be considered with the car? That's a separate payout. And a trailer is a second vehicle. I'll be talking with FOUR adjusters when this is all said and done, and they're all useless. I was sent paperwork for my ex-husband to sign when they KNOW he lives in another city. I would laugh if I wasn't so upset. Insurance should work to put victims in positions close to where they were before their insured drivers ruined things.Review fromHosea B

1 starUnbelievable - Just unbelievable. First off, if I would have done my research prior to all the payments I have made with State Farm, I NEVER would have chosen them as my insurance carrier. Every one star review that I have read is 100% accurate. I had water damage to my basement and the crap they have done and are doing is unreal. I can not believe the unprofessionalism and obstacles that they have devised to deny and avoid paying claims. Their job is to deny, and avoid plain and simple. Please take every 1 star review to be accurate and as soon as I am able I will be getting rid of State Farm......Like A Good Neighbor " State Farm Is There" Is a CROCK of BS and we all need a Class Action Suite against them!!!
I will be check with my State to see what can be done legally !!Review fromAmanda S

1 starState Farm is willing to gamble my premature triplets health with respiratory issues, rather than doing what is right; Extremely worried there is mold. Loyal customers for 17+ years with no major claims, and a tornado a few miles from my home was confirmed on July 16, 2024. Now 10 months months later, we are still in limbo with no resolution. I was told I am to take their only option to repair my roof; which is to pay a huge deductible to them for what is not a reasonable like kinded uniform appearance regarding my shingles; Looks like a checkered board. I am unable to get a response without having to reach out several times, was told my children will not risk respiratory issues even though shingles have been photographed on my roof that have fallen off since claim was made back in July; roof being exposed. I was told to provide proof rather than doing the right thing. I have provided proof and their only resolution is to open up a new claim for more damage left from additional storms.
I URGE YOU DO NOT USE THEM PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE. My neighbor directly next me who has State Farm received a full replacement and new siding. I am watching all the homes in my subdivision get repaired and replaced.Review fromAb C
