Tried to exchange an item that was defective. They told me I had to sign up for membership to be able to exchange it. Can't even show a receipt. Have to be a member. $14 Not long ago I bought a cosmetic item and when I got it home and opened the box, the item read "tester." I don't live close enough to simply drive back and exchange it. $44 That's enough. No more shopping at Ulta.ULTA Beauty

So terribly- terribly tired with the seemingly "bait & switch" nonsense promotions( for gifts with purchases )that are never available. Promotions that are offered and the stores ( five stores that I hit up) don't have the promotional item. I hit up 2 stores on the same day that is promtion was offered and neither was able to honor it. I subsequently went to three additional stores (in two counties ) that also could not honor this. Today.. I spoke to an agent who couldn't help me and after much asking-- was able to "escalate" this concern to another person (that could also not help me.) They kept suggesting I return my items ( to only repurchase them online-- to be able to get the promotional gift.) #Ugh #rubbish #awful I couldn't stand the conversation anymore because the customer service representative was totally not helpful. I'm not sure exactly what has happened at Ulta... but wow- wow- yuck!!ULTA Beauty

This place and credit card is a joke! Never will I ever support this place. I had a Ulta credit card which I paid off, two months later I had a charge of $72 dollars pending. I called customer service and they said I did not qualify for a late fee removal. But keeping in mind I had paid my full balance and now they are asked me to send a letter to dispute it. So Im supposed to pay for postage. Well, I ended up paying the 2 late fees and interest charges. And like that was not enough, they still wanted me to pay $9 to speak to a live person and make a payment. People need to know of this scam! I am extremely disappointed in this company and the things they do to people. Cutting my card and will never step a foot in it.ULTA Beauty

Ordered a large amount of items for a charity event for ********** women (making care packages) and everything came damaged and they didnt seem realizing or care what an inconvenience this caused and how this impacted my event. I reordered and the same thing happened and this time they were even worse! I have pics to show how terribly packed and damaged the items were.ULTA Beauty

**************** is not very helpful and they do not strive to make the customer happy. They offered a $77 free gift for a $70 online purchases but it never is offered as an option in the checkout process so you do not have the option to apply the free gift to your order. When I texted customer service to ask about it, the attitude is a sorry you already ordered and it wasn't on the order so we can't do anything. (Of course, I didn't even see the free gift that was offered till later when I went to check on my order.) I'm sorry, you can do whatever you want because you are the company! You can add anything to an order. I guess it isn't important to keep the customer happy. I spent $300 and the free gift came with a $70 online purchase. The least you can do is add it to my order. Ridiculous where your priorities are. This is how you lose customers. At the end of the day you want a customer who spend $300 over your free gifts. I have also had bad experiences in the store with employees ignoring customers to chat with each other, but I was giving this company another shot. I guess they don't deserve it. ******* has much better customer service and strives to make the customer happy first. Take some lessons! Especially is this economy!ULTA Beauty

I had a HORRIBLE experience with Ulta. I returned everything to them, they messed up the return, and refused to do anything to make it right. I am now out over $200. It also took MONTHS for them to just tell me they won't do the right thing. I essentially was stolen from. Don't work with this company they cannot be trusted.ULTA Beauty

Ulta corporate office is completely unprofessional. If you have an issue with anything that happens in their store, they will accuse you of lying despite the fact that I was told by employees of my local store that theyve had the same issues Ive had. They dont clean their brushes properly, their customer service is disrespectful and disgusting with the way they speak to you, and they will send you through a bunch of circles only to keep telling you that theyre lying. I have photo evidence for what their store did to me and Im still being told Im lying.ULTA Beauty

Shocked by the ************ Will ***** Return I had an incredibly disappointing experience at the Ulta in The Woodlands. I came in with a bride-to-be (who is disabled), her two young nieces, her mother, and myselfa professional makeup artist with 25 years of experience, recently retired. I was simply there to help her find the perfect wedding look and assist with product ************ first, the staff was kind. Since the bride is disabled, they allowed me to sit in a makeup chair in the corner while we tested products. I was respectful of the space, used only Ultas disposable tools like Q-tips, and kept everything clean as we worked. We were clearly planning to spend around $500 on products.Then, out of nowhere, the manager approached us and very curtly demanded I vacate the seat because it was reserved for Ulta artistsdespite the fact that no one had used the area for over an hour, and there were two other completely empty makeup stations right next to us. I explained the situation and asked for just 5 more minutes. She only relented with extreme reluctance.I was doing all the work of promoting and applying their products, helping my friend choose what to purchase. But after being treated so rudely and made to feel unwelcome, we cut our purchase in half and went to ******* instead to buy the restnearly $300 worth of makeup.This experience left me horrified. Ill never shop at this Ulta again, and I encourage others to take their business elsewhere. No customer, especially one with a disability, should be treated with such a lack of respect.ULTA Beauty

I received a $10.00 off coupon for Ulta in mail. Yet, when going to purchase items from Ulta store, there are a multitude of exclusions/ restrictions in order to use coupon. Example ---- coupon says "excludes the salon at ultra beauty, ear piecing, skin bar, and benefit brow bar, fragrance, prestige brands and select other brands, ******, No1DE CHANEL, dyson, early black friday deals, beauty steals, beauty deals and clearance. ***** at the Wheaton store in **, declines my coupon and was unable to provide me with information on what I could use my coupon for. He just told me I could not use it on "prestige brands"- which %70 of the store is name brand items. I feel like Ulta sends out coupons to get customers in store, then just make it a "guessing" game for customers to try and figure out what items this coupon applies. *****, told me.. "its not that hard, just don't pick prestige brands". So, I asked for the list of "prestige brands" and was shown a piece of paper, that i was not allow to take. So apparently, I have to study what beauty products are "prestige" in order to shop at Ulta. If I am going to purchase "generic brand" make-up, then why not just go to grocery store or dollar store? I go to Ulta to get nice, well made products, yet Ulta sends out coupons to make customers come to store only to deny ability to use coupon.ULTA Beauty

Worst customer service experience ever. I made an online purchase of 11 items & received a notice that all items shipped together. When the box arrived 2 items were missing. Ulta never let me know the items hadn't been shipped. I contacted Ulta customer service via text message. Got tossed around between agents & finally one said they would ship the items to me. I waited 10 days & still never received the items. I contacted Ulta customer service again, this time via phone, explained the situation to the agent & asked that the items be shipped overnight. She refused. I asked to speak with a supervisor. The agent placed me on hold & then hung up on me. I called back, requesting a supervisor again & again the agent hung up on me. After calling a 3rd time to request a supervisor, being placed on hold, & then hung up on again, I called back for the 4th and final time & told the agent to issue a refund. I also told the agent that i had been a loyal customer for over 10 years but because of this experience I would never purchase another thing from Ulta. She responded with "ok". No apology or acknowledgement. If I could give Ulta zero stars I would.ULTA Beauty
