    This company is truly a SCAM, no other ways of putting it. I am so upset I never looked at reviews before "hiring" them last summer. They lie to sign you into a contract with them and then when they don't do the services promised, they try to charge a cancellation fee of $150. I was home when the technician came to do his bimonthly service and watched him stand in our backyard on his phone. He was at our home for a total of 5 minutes and I received a bill for $199. Now when I refuse to pay for a service that wasn't completed, they tell me it will be sent to collections. HOW IS THIS FAIR BUSINESS PRACTICE? I am appalled by their customer service- it's all overseas, of course- so dealing with someone who can actually help is far and in between. I am filing this complaint to warn others of the sketchy business practices of this company and I am hopeful they will eventually be shut down!

    We have all customers sign a Service Agreement and a Checklist Review in order to prevent these misunderstandings. Please see attached. 

    We have *** on all of our vehicles. We have pulled the *** for your appointment and that tech and can confirm he was present at your home for 15 minutes. Each treatment is tailored for the season. For ***************, we focus heavily on the inside as well as hitting key points on the exterior. Per your account notes, you refused inside service on 1/23/23. We went ahead and treated the exterior for spring pest prevention.

    Just because you have a GPS does not prove your worker was actually doing anything on the property! What a joke response. You guys did not do the service that was paid for and you are scamming me out of my money to make up for your horrible business practices. I am appalled that you dont believe your customers. I watched the boy (who looked maybe 15 years old) on our property on his phone the entire time- which was NOT 15 minutes regardless of what your GPS says.

    A sales person, ***************************, from Ecoshield showed up at our new home just shortly after moving in and mentioned that our neighbor referred him to our home for service. He walked through the pest control services that the company would provide, and said that as long as he could recoup their fee within 2-3 treatments there would be no penalty or fee for cancelling the service. He leveraged unethical sales practices and lied about the provisions of the contract, even pulling up fabricated 5 star business reviews online which later could not be found or substantiated. I called the company to request modification to or cancellation of this service and was informed I would be charged a penalty to get out of the 2 year contract early. They also suggested that I postpone my service to solve the problem, which would, in fact, elongate my contractual relationship with this company based off of the contract language they did not mention in the custom care center. The agent I spoke to said this was not the first time that he has had to deal with unethical sales practices or lies from the sales team and they were working to train them around this. How alarming! This sales person (who claimed to be the owner of the company that I could reach any time via his "personal cell" - aka an automated text response service center) should be reprimanded for these unethical practices. The customer care center calls are supposedly recorded so these calls should be reviewed as it sounds like this is not the first or last time someone has been wildly misled.

    I am rejecting this response because: I have attempted to speak with this business multiple times and the people I am able to connect with live are reading from a script or are  unequipped and do not have authority to address the issue at hand. I would like a direct number to speak to a manager that can resolve this concern instead of consistently being directed back to the call center.

    My issues with this company started with a sales rep claiming that my neighbors referred him to me, which is in fact not true, they do not utilize the services, so he lied to get a sale. In fact, most of our neighborhood on FB (in the group) states the exact same sales pitch and frustrations. After being told multiple times by different reps from this company that they would reach out prior to schedule service, they continue to schedule service randomly without my consultation, when I'm not home or available to monitor the treatments. The treatments are not effective and don't truly work after being on program for almost a year. The reps who do the treatments are nice, but their corporates office and business processes and practices regarding customer service are sub-par.

    As for the service itself, I did attach your Service Agreement and your Checklist review sheet that you signed as well. These documents show you an approximate month we will be out and we also send out service reminders to your phone and email on file three days before your scheduled service. We mention that if you need to make changes or would like to be home for the service, to text or call us to let us know.

    We see that your account was cancelled out at no charge to you.

    I signed up with Ecoshield on July 9, 2022. After listening to the sales picth I had orginally told the salesman NO, I don't want the service if I had to commit to a full contract. The salesman said he would waive all canellation fees and that I could cancel at any time and I would not be charged for any service visits other than the first visit.Based on no cancelation fees at any time and no full contract commitment, I agreed to the service. After the first service I spoke with a local friend, who the salesman had referenced during his visit. They said they had cancelled their service and they are not happy about the salesman using their name. I called Ecoshield to cancel my service. At that first call the representative called the salesman and he confirmed - No canelation fee. The account was set to be closed. They had charged my credit card for the initial visit. I have since been called about once a month regarding a balance on my closed account for cancellation fees.They continue to call and harass me for fees they agreed not to charge. I would like them to remove the cancellation fees from my account and stop calling me.

    I cancelled due to pricing and results.  A tree I asked them to give special attention was infested with ants after there treatment.

    The salesman promised me there would be no cancellation fees.  I could ***** at any time with no additional fees.  I paid for service provided.  They offered discounts to continue service.  I did not want their service.  They insisted I pay $87.50 to close the account.  They called and harassed me every week.  I paid the $87.50 just to get them to stop calling.

    On two visits showed up without notice. Didn't provide information that the service was done. No record of them being at the address. Been given the run around by ecoshield. Trying to charge me for service never done. Now they are phone harassing for payment never done.

    Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are disappointed to hear of our customers displeasure with his service. We send out notifications 3 days prior to pest control services and day prior for mosquito services. These notifications are sent so a customer can contact us in the event that their scheduled service can be moved to work around their schedule if needed. We send record of the services provided via and emails and with our mosquito services we leave behind flags to make the customer aware of the treatment provided, as required by law.

    The only time the customer reached out to us was to cancel. Had there been a concern with service that we could have addressed we would have made every attempt. At this time, we are unable to waive any outstanding balances and the account balance would still be owed.

    A salesman came to my home unsolicited in June, 2022 stating he was doing pest control services to my neighbors homes. He stated that he has extra material that will go bad if not used so he is offering me a discounted service if I accepted his service. First treatment was done that day while I was home and for which I paid $179.00. I later checked with my neighbors and discovered the salespersons claim was untrue. I was really upset at having been lied to by the salesperson. We didnt hear from the company again so I figured the matter was closed. Then, I then received a text in October that they would be coming to my home to do another application. I immediately called them and said absolutely not; I dont like that they lied about working for my neighbors. I dont trust them or their business and I never want them back. I was told I would have to pay an early termination fee of $150 to cover the discounted price I was given for the first application (for which I already paid $179.00). I said I wouldnt pay them any more money and asked to speak to a manager. Two customer service representatives and a manager all claimed that I owed this $150 fee due to a contract I signed. I told them the contract is unenforceable due to the fact that the salesperson lied to me to get me to agree to it. After that phone call I researched the company and found numerous complaints of being scammed in the exact same manner. Today I received an email statement alleging that I owe them $150 for early termination of the contact. The salesperson who came to my home knowingly made a false statement of material fact with the intent to get me to enter into a contract for which I was damaged by paying $179.This is fraudulent inducement and it renders a contract unenforceable in ********. I will not pay any further money to this unscrupulous company which clearly engages in a pattern and practice of predatory sales tactics.

    A salesman came to my home unsolicited on July 14th, 2022 stating he was doing pest control services to my neighbors homes. He stated that he has extra material that will go bad if not used so he is offering me a discounted service if I accepted his service. First treatment was done that day while I was home. The second treatment was on August 22nd, 2022 outside of the times they said they would arrive and I was not home. Upon watching my Ring doorbell camera and backyard camera the technician only did one pass across my property which is .55 of an acre instead of the complete property nor did he clean the exterior of my second floor as stated in their contract. I called on August 30th to schedule a follow up service on September 8th but no technician ever arrived. I called on September 28th to complain about the poor service and to cancel my service as the level of service provided was not what was guaranteed in the contract. I was told I would have to pay an early termination fee of $255 to cover the discounted price I was given. I stated that the service provided was not what I was promised and I shouldn't have to pay for repeat substandard service. I asked to speak to a manager who talked me into restructuring my contract from a 24 month to a 12 month contract and I would receive a call from the local office to schedule a free follow up service. I never received a call so I called them on October 4th to again to cancel my service only to be told that an appointment was made and canceled and that I'd have to reschedule. I at no point made, let alone canceled, an appointment. I spoke to the customer service manager who said she would end my contract but I will have to still pay the $255 early termination fee. I stated that EcoShield did not provide the service guaranteed in their contract so they broke the contract and it no longer applies. After that phone call I researched the company and found numerous complaints of being scammed in the exact same manner.

    On I believe June 6th I was outside doing yard work and an agent of Eco Shield Pest Solutions named ******** asked me if I needed help with inside & outside pest control. I told him we had three dogs and asked if it was safe for pets. He stated yes and I said I may need their services on the exterior one time. But I needed to talk to my wife and for him to call me back within the week. I never got a call back and got a knock on my door and it was two guys stating they were from Eco Shield, and I stated I did not approve any services. I said I would need to talk to ******** and called his number ************ but there was no answer. I told the two guys I would try their exterior only service for $175 one time. They were done and gone within 15 mins. They said to keep the dogs inside for two hours and I waited three hours. The next day two of our dogs throw up and I call ******** to let him know what had happened. But he said I needed to call their office to let them know. They stated I had signed up for a 24-month program and if I would pay $200, I could cancel the plan. I stated I was never told anything about a 24-month program and that I agreed to a one time exterior only for $175, which I paid. I got a collection letter from A.R.M Solutions dated Aug 25, 2022, stating to call if I had a dispute with their charges, but I called the number provided ************ numerous times. But after it states this is a collection call and it will be recorded it hangs up? So now I am contacting the BBB for your help to get this resolved.

    Similar to other complaints regarding this business...I'm filing a complaint again Eco Shield Pest Control Chicago, LLC. An Eco Shield representative came to my door to discuss the opportunity to gain my business for pest control. The Eco Shield Rep came up to me outside of my house, after discuss the service which he stated would take roughly and hour to hour and half. The crew came back that day, there were 3 of them, which was fine but they were out of the yard within 15 minutes. I was a little shocked and question why they were gone so fast. I went out and inspected and was not happy with the service seeing cob webs still around the doors and windows. I called and cancelled, they called me a month later to schedule another visit. I stated then no, I had cancelled. They "rescheduled me to August" , again I called and asked to speak to a manager August 29, and never received a call back. I find out they cancelled my service, which is great but they want to charge me for cancel fee of $200. I have repeated stated I cancelled within ******************************************************* I was told today that it was my responsibility to read the contract and my service is cancelled but I still owe $200?... I cancelled within 24 hours, I was not happy with what they did or the fact that I felt cheated and lied to by the rep. I will not pay for a service that I cancelled within 24 hours of contract. I am still waiting on call back from the manager...

    On 7-28-22 salesman visited our home. I told him we had wasps and I was interested in having someone take care of them. The salesman said someone could be there today and that they would need to come again in mid-August and then spring of 2023. I said I wanted to use them once and then see how well it worked and then decide if I needed more service calls. He said it would $179 for that day and that I would be able to call him any time to make an appointment for them to come out again He asked me to sign on his phone to authorize that days service which I did. About three hours later, two men came and sprayed. My card was charged $179 on July ***************** *****************. I never heard or saw the pest control people ever again they never called to schedule an appointment or anything. In June 2022 my landlord died leaving the property to his children. On 8/11/2022, I received a 30-day notice from his daughter to vacate because they wanted to use the property for themselves. While going through my emails on 8/26/2022, I saw an email from 8/10/2022 from the company saying that they wanted me to call and schedule an appointment On 8/26/2022 I called Eco Shield to let them know that I was moving and they didnt need to come back to check for the wasps. I spoke to a woman named ******** and she told me about the subscription. This is when I felt mislead about the company because I had never agreed to start any type of regular service. I had no idea and never received anything in writing. I told her I was moving temporarily with relatives in ***********, ******* and that I would no longer have a property. She said to a send a copy of the 30-day notice, which I did within an hour of the phone call. I then received an email from Eco Shield confirming that my account was cancelled. On 9/13/2022 at 5:05pm and today I received calls asking about my subscription and balance. Entire experience in attachment.
