Same as others, closed my account in perfectly good standing due to "the user agreement" bs. Told me filing a dispute against my credit report was impossible. *** is clearly doing a mass sweep and using user agreement as a shield while wrecking peoples credit. Previously Bank of the West, bought out by *** in 2023. Just waited enough time to go through and make cuts to fit their new agenda.

I have been a customer for over 30 years. No late fees and no issues. I had recurring charges and was paying some interest each month. I also have an 800+ credit score and HAD a credit line of $12,000.I get a letter 4/14/25 that my card had been canceled on 3/3/25 with no warning and no explanation but this - BMO Bank N.A. ("BMO"), the issuer of *** credit cards in the **, conducts regular reviews of our customer ************ reason we do this is to identify relationships that may not fit within our requirements. MAY NOT FIT??????I do believe this is discrimination based on my race (clearly my last name) and/or for political items that were purchased with the card. What they did was not only cancel a person for no reason, but rather a ********* Disabled Veterans account. What a slap in the face to the ************* as a whole. I hope everyone who has an account or a CC with *** cancels their accounts before you get your letter in the mail.

This absolutely the worst trusted bank in *******. ***** Fargo doesn't even trust BMO to pay for deposited checks. My 80 year old mother has had nothing but huge problems. My mother was alarmed by a massive deposit into her account for Social Security. This raised our concerns. We directed my mom to move the money into a savings account. During this time we also paused use of her debt card. When we found that the deposit was legitimate we re-activated her card. This only caused more problems. Then her account and card were inactive. This bank has absolutely no clue what they are found. My mother went to the grocery store for her weekly shopping. Only taking her debt card. ******* check out her card was denied. Even after the card was reactivated. My mother always keeps 3 to 5 thousand in this account. The bank once again failed my 80 year old mother! She then went back to the bank and they issued her another card. Stating that she will no longer have any more issues. The next day she went back to the store and once again her card was declined. My mother called me crying stating that she is having the same issue. She felt embarrassed and taking advantage of!! I finally had to drive into her town and purchase her groceries for her. This is still continuing to be an issue. I refuse to go any further. Back story. *** bought out a local bank snowing all of its customers into believing that this will be a great opportunity for there customers to grow further in there investments!! Bullshit! *** has only caused more stress and zero confidence. I will also be posting this same statement on ****** review. Our family has advised the bank that my mother will be taking her banking needs to a more trusted banking organization. Never and I mean never use this banking institution ever!!

I would leave zero stars if I could. They closed my account with no notice, s******* over my credit score. A few years ago, they also altered the credit limit with no warning or notice. They have only screwed up my credit and been detrimental to my wellbeing. Do not get any account with them. They are scammy and unprofessional.

*** bought out my credit card bank years ago and took over my account. I had that credit card for literally decades and never defaulted, missed a single payment, or paid late, EVER. On April 1st, I had a notice from ****** that the payment method was declined on an order. When I called *** to see what the issue was, their poorly trained customer service *** informed me that due to "policy changes," my account had been closed on March 31st and I would get a letter confirming within 7 days. I was not notified in any way that my account was being closed and given no actual reason why. I received the letter today, 15 days later. Congratulations on burning all bridges with me, BMO, as I will never do any sort of business with your trashy bank ever again and will let anyone I have ever met or will meet know not to keep any accounts with you. Closing my account for no reason other than that you apparently weren't making enough money off me was bad enough, but the HORRIBLE way you went about it shows what truly execrable customer service you offer and what stupid business choices you make.

I had a credit with them in good stand for several years. I just got a letter from them today telling me my credit card was cancelled, no reason given. I received the letter by snail mail on 4/14/25 telling me it was cancelled on 3/31/25. They should have sent a notice at least 30 days in advance. I had automatic payments on that card, I almost missed a payment to *******. I have never missed a payment on any credit card in 50 years! It is unbelievable how poorly business are run these days.

Before I start my rant, let me just point out that your Rewards points can be redeemed up to 90 days from the date of account closure. I redeemed mine a couple of days after I found out. Now, my rant: Just like everybody else, my credit rating is excellent, and I was never late with payments. But like everyone else complaining here, come April 1st, I awoke to six emails from auto-donation accounts indicating that my credit card had been rejected. Yes indeed, the mighty BMO, who is all about 'customer service,' chose to close my account without warning, and without reason. Just like everybody else here, I assume it was because they didn't make enough money off the more than $120,000 I pumped through their card in just under two years. Just to be clear, they set the interest rate and the cashback rate and then offered me the card. It's not my fault they messed that up. I called, I went online, and I went to my local branch and asked, and got no answers to my two questions: "Why was my account closed?" and "Why was I given no notice?" The useless form letter that arrived today (a full two weeks after they messed up my plans for two days) essentially says "the terms of our cardholder agreement with you allows us to close your account at any time, for any reason." Fine, but when you bury that in a section titled "blah blah blah; Default," you should expect people to come asking "Why?" and "How am I in Default?" I'm not a three-year-old so "Because we can!" is not an acceptable answer and not one that displays any sensitivity to the concerns of their 'valued customers.' I don't know about the others on here, but when something goes wrong with my credit cards, I go bonkers looking for evidence of stolen card numbers, passwords, and fraudulent charges. I even pulled my credit reports. The lack of even a two-week notice was WAY MORE than an 'inconvenience.' I'll be posting this to every outlet I can think of.

BMO is awful!!!, they closed my credit card. Never has a late payment and always used my card responsibility. They sent a letter that *** can close my account at anytime and for any reason. No reason was given. I wished U could leave zero stars.

Before I became a *** customer I was with ******************** which was amazing. Bank of the West switched all customers over to *** a few years ago. I have been an exceptional customer never paid a late payment, I have always paid 1 to 2 weeks before the due date. So you can imagine my surprise when I received a letter from *** stating that they closed my account, simply because they can due to the card holder agreement. I wanted to get a real reason as to why they would close an account of a customer with exceptional payment history just because. When I called I was told because they due to the card holder agreement. I said ok but there has to be an exact reason to close someone's account. You don't just go through your custom list and say ok let just close these exceptional customers accounts because we can. That is absolutely ridiculous and makes no sense other than simply because you can. Do not ever Bank or get one of their credit cards. The absolute worst customer service and policies I've ever experienced. Unfortunately it would allow me to put no star.

Canceled as well. An 800-plus credit score with monthly autopay. Only found out because ********* notified me that the monthly payment had been rejected. No advance notice, no written notification, and no explanation from customer service. I may not have been the most profitable customer for them, but their conduct has been inconsiderate and unprofessional. Work with them at your peril!
