I am a victim of identity theft as a result of the EQUIFAX DATA BREACH. Attached you will find the information which appears on my credit report, does not relate to any transaction(s) that I have made. I submitted a valid identity theft dispute to TransUnion on May 8, 2025, and again on June 14, 2025, including a full FTC Identity Theft Report, government-issued ID, proof of address, and a signed statement under penalty of perjury.TransUnion has refused to block a fraudulent *************** account and AMEX inquiry, as required under FCRA 605B(a), and instead illegally contacted the data furnisher to investigate which is explicitly prohibited by law. They also failed to provide a written explanation of the refusal to block within the required 4-day window, violating 605B(b).Their written letters confirm they relied on irrelevant factors such as account history and payment activity, which are not valid grounds under the **** once a formal identity theft report is submitted.This has caused ongoing harm to my credit report and represents a willful violation of federal law. ******* has already removed the same account, proving my claim is valid. I recently obtained a copy of my credit report and was shocked to discover two accounts that I did not open and do not recognize. These accounts are:1. Creditor: ONLINE INFORMATION SER?2. Creditor: FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE?I did not authorize these accounts, have never done business with either company, and have no knowledge of how my personal information was used to open them. These are not my debts and are the result of identity theft.These fraudulent accounts are damaging my credit and affecting my ability to obtain financing. The inquiry in question was placed by SYNCB/SAMSBR on 06/26/2025, and I categorically deny ever initiating or authorizing this inquiry. I have never applied for credit, services, or initiated any contact with this entity on 06/26/2025 that would lawfully justify such an inquiry. This action was neither permitted by me nor preceded by any permissible purpose under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), specifically 604. After a thorough examination of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), I have identified multiple violations of federal consumer protection laws related to this unauthorized inquiry. I formally disputed a specific item on my credit report, providing details and requesting proof of verification. Instead of conducting a thorough review, TransUnion responded with a generic "verified" status without supplying any documentation or evidence to support the continued reporting of the account.This response blatantly disregards my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), which requires a reasonable investigation and proper verification.
