My father, the owner of the bike, passed away in Feb. My mom doesn't ride and decided to sell the bike but had to get it titled in her name. There was still $8379.64 still owed before we could get a lien release. We have tried several attempts to pay off the bike but they keep rejecting the payment saying it's my banks fault when is not. The bank seems to think something fishy is going on, perhaps some sort of scam. All I know is, it shouldn't be this difficult to pay off a loan. I was just over 30 days past due, due to being out of town for a school matter. I was a graduate student at the time I bought the Harley and when the incident occurred. It took me so long to report this because I didn't know I COULD report it. I came home from my university trip to find the bike gone. I thought it was stolen because I never received any notice of intent to repossess. The account in the attached screenshot shows 30 days past 2 for 2 months, but it was right around 6 weeks since my last payment and there has never been, before or since, ANY contact from the company to inform me of the repossession. Over a month after the event, I received a letter stating it was being sold for auction. There was no language regarding WHY or WHEN or any evidence supporting their repossession. I'd have paid the late bill and still been paying if they hadn't done this stunt. I am now being charged over $1000 to pay the remaining balance on a bike that I feel the company stole back. I will not be paying this balance. They owe me AT LEAST that.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I will not accept anything until I receive written communication that they have resolved the matter with my concurrence. This matter was only discovered upon my background check with the *********; I was completely unaware they had sent anything to collections. This matter threatens my employment as a contractor with the ********* and I take this very seriously. Due to the fact that they refuse to respond inline on BBB is suspicious, but it also requires that I request an extension to resolve this matter with the Army.

Issue is we the consumer are unable to make any early payment on our loan using Harley Davidson Financial Services website. It will show your current amount due and the due date however when you select Make a Payment it takes you to another page. It will not allow you to make an early payment as it doesnt allow you to enter any amount. The only amount that will display is the $3.00 convenience fee. It will only allow you to make your payment on the exact due date. This is a simple loan and interest is added daily. Im sure its illegal to not allow the consumer to make any early payments to help reduce the amount of interest paid. Im starting my complaint here before I move further with financial regulations and their associated party.Business Response

i was in a motorcycle accident on july2, 2024. the bike was deemed a total loss and was then put into an insurance claim and was at the tow yard, and before Allstate could get there to state the claim, Harley came and repo'd the bike. Allstate is unable to do anything with the claim due to Harley taking possession on the bike and now due to Harley refusing to release the bike, the bike has gone into collections and further hurting me and my credit by dragging this out and refusing to corporate so this claim and get finished and Harley can get paid for the total lossBusiness Response

Ive been contacting Harley Davidson since July 15th trying to get updates on when payment will reflect on Harley website and credit report. I keep getting told payment was received always a different day than previous agent said and they keep telling me to wait a little longer. The agents have admit they have received payment and see that bike has been paid off but are no help on updating information. On 8/13/24 I filled out an online credit application for a Rider to Rider Financing program. At that time I had to choose a dealer to work through to facilitate the Private Party Purchase. I did so and the application was approved. I was then contacted by the Dealer and informed that they do not participate in the rider to rider finance program. I reached out to several other local dealers only to discover that none of them participate either. I contacted Harley Davidson Financial Service on 8/14/24 to discuss option to follow through with their offer of financing. They were unable to direct me to a dealer that participated in their program. This is deceptive advertising when they don't know their network of participating dealer and don't disclose it through the application process. This has left me with a Hard inquiry on my credit report that would not have been there had I know all the details about the Rider to Rider finance program.Business Response
