I have called Kemper Life Insurance three times about surrendering a life insurance policy that I have with them. The first two times that I called I was told that they had to scan the policy and to call back within 24 to 48 hours. I called the third time and was told that they had to verify the policy and to call back within 24 to 48 hours. I informed Kemper Life that today was the third time that I have called and I have been receiving the same excuse.Business Response

I Was involved in an accident with their insured. Their insured was at fault. Received an estimate from them that is not comparable to the one I received from my repair shop. The claims adjuster told me if I didn't like it that I would have to go thru my own insurance company and the they would not change the estimate. The adjuster was rude and hung upon me. you can't dial the person who you want to speak to directly, you can only speak to the claims persons manager. I was not allowed to lodge a complaint with anyone at the company.Business Response

I am writing to express serious concern regarding the handling of my son **** Bells life insurance policy by one of your agents. Due to a series of preventable errors and a lack of appropriate communication, his policy has lapseddespite over 30 years of faithful premium payments.The root of this issue appears to be the agents failure to update our contact information correctly. Despite notifying the agent of my address change, she failed to update the address on ***** policy and, additionally, entered the wrong address on my own policy (***** ****). Because of this, we were not notified of any payment issues or lapse warnings in a timely ********* a result, the Automatic Premium Loan (APL) feature was triggered to cover a premium of just $14/montha small amount that I would have gladly paid had I been properly informed. The use of the **** which should only be a last resort, could have been entirely avoided with a basic address update and standard customer communication.When I contacted the agent directly, she told me over the phone that this was not her responsibilitya dismissive and troubling response. I am rejecting this response because: Unfortunately, this complaint has not been resolved, and to make matters worse, I updated my address via phone with the supervisor at Kemper Life. I paid my policy up-to-date and reinstated it with all fees that were due. Yet and still, I received my first piece of mail that I have received from Kemper Life in the last five years, with still the wrong address. Im not quite sure how my mail service/**** was able to still get this piece of mail to me, but it has ***************** on it, and this is the incorrect address. I gave the supervisor the correct address of **************** No one has asked to update my records with my ID/driver's license, which clearly has my 267 Sapphire Ln. address. Nor has my last name been updated as I requested to ***** ****. The mail still says ***** *****. I was also still billed for the interest on this loan. I have requested the interest be removed due to negligence. I was told someone would call me back. I have not heard anything. You cannot bill someone for loan interest and not notify them that the loan has occurred due to nonpayment.

I am rejecting this response because:unfortunately, the matter has not been resolved. Today I received a reinstatement form, which was verbally told to my mother that the form was mailed to me when i paid the re-in statement fee which is incorrect. The form was never mailed to me, faxed to me or emailed to me. I paid my reinstatement fee on May 13, 2025 and I was not given or told that I needed a reinstatement form completed. My policy has continued to be inactive/lapsed. I also have not been given a response in regards to the policy loan interest thats due. I was not properly notified that my policy loan insurance had taken into affect. My agent did not notify me, I did not receive any mail. When I contacted them, my address was incorrect. I have updated my address with them several times and I received even the policy loan interest recently, which has the wrong address- it has ****************** which is not my address. Im confident to think that **** just made the connection. If the interest and loan balance are not clear as they properly should be I will be contacting legal advice.

In auto accident involved with a Kemper insured gave insurance information file to claim the company that fix the car. They keep going up on the money, even though the ***** fixed we dont know why and the insurance are the other persons insurance with Kemper they will not sign the final paperwork. They cant findher and she wont answer her phone and they refused to turn the check please until she signs it and the company that fixed the car to turn the car loose until its paid for and I dont understand it started at 1100 and then it was 2200 and now its 3600 and its been fixed over a weekBusiness Response

On June 7, 2025 My vehicle was @ Collision Tech body shop for repairs, it was inspected by Kemper and approved by them, somehow the vehicle caught fire and I was inform by the body shop, I also made a claim with Kemper on 06/14/2022 and they didn't cover my damages, they said the company Insuring the shop would be responsible for the damages, until now no one has being responsible for my loss. I had a policy with this company and they tried to add a driver to my policy that is not a regular driver nor lives with me and doubled the premium. I canceled the policy due to this and now they are trying to bill me a cancellation fee and for the remainder of the policy. I did try to resolve this issue and they refused to fix it. They changed the terms of the policy making any previous agreement void.Business Response

I was in a car accident and not at fault police were involved because it was a hit and run. This incident happened on April 23, I have police case number and there phone call as well. I have been dealing with this insurance since that day, I had to pay out of pocket a rental car and they said I had to come out of pocket. Meanwhile I get a policy letter that they should be covering for my expenses, I have been calling and wondering what is going on and why it's taking so long.Pensky Collision at ********** have multiple times called the insurance and apparently today I have a new adjuster that I have no idea who it is and the name, because of lack of communication we have been getting. I want this to be resolved by getting my reimbursement and getting my paperwork done so the shop can do there job and pay me for a new car. This has been a nightmare and thinking of taking Kemper to court at this point. $40,000 for a new car and my rental reimbursement is fair for this horrendous experience before calling my attorney and asking for more.Business Response

Since November 2024 my father has tried cashing out his life insurance. Kemper Life keeps telling us that they have mailed a check. Its May 2025 and no check. Many calls have been made at no avail just the same response to wait for the check.Business Response

On March 24 th 2025 someone sideswiped my truck while I was inside of a ******** I noticed the car parked next to me had the black paint from my truck on it and it was damaged as well, I called the police to file a report and possibly get the recording from ******* to see if this car next to me had hit my truck. As I was talking to the police the driver to the car parked next to me walked up and said that he in fact had hit my truck. We exchanged I information and I called to file a claim with temper, his insurance company. As time went on and after sending in all proper pictures and info, Kemper said since he had a accident in another state from which ******* is located that they cant pay for my truck damagesBusiness Response

This issue with Kemper hasnt beeen resolved, they re now saying that theres a coverage issue, the person who hit my truck had insurance at the time of the incident, but since then have moved to a different insurance because Kemper said they would drop him due to this incident. Kemper refuses to pay for the damages.

Complaint Against Kemper Auto Insurance Claim #*********** I am filing this complaint regarding Kemper Auto Insurances mishandling of my claim for a hit-and-run accident caused by their insured on November 1, 2024.I opened the claim with Tesla Insurance immediately after the incident, but since the at-fault driver fled, I didnt have their insurance info. The police report identifying Kemper as the insurer wasnt provided until early February 2025, at which point I submitted the claim to Kemper.Despite sharing video evidence from my vehicle, a police report, and a repair estimate from a Tesla-certified shop, Kemper has delayed action for over three months. Adjuster Robyen ****-***** continues to respond with vague, repetitive messages about an ongoing coverage investigation, without explaining what is being reviewed. Appraiser ****** ****** deflects all inquiries and provides no ***************** repair has been approved, no rental coverage offered, and no timeline given despite Kemper having all required documentation since February. This appears consistent with Kempers documented pattern of claim delays, as reported in a recent $1.5M legal settlement.I am requesting that Kemper:1. Complete the investigation and issue a decision.2. Approve repair at ********************** in *********, ***3. Cover rental car expenses during repair.If this is not resolved promptly, I am prepared to pursue legal action.Business Response
