      I will start by saying how much regrets I have toward KEMPER.On 03/08/2025 I had an accident and the van was totaled. I contacted Kemper insurance and filed a claim. Few days later they called me to get my statement and I explained what happened, which that I had went out and went to pick up my kid from practice and on the way back the accident happened. Now since it's a commercial policy they sent me a letter later on saying that the claim might be denied, because the van was being used for personal used. Few days later I tried contacting them by phone many times but was receiving no answer and they never returned my calls. The reason for me trying to reach out to them was to explain what we didn't go through during my statement that they recorded earlier, which is that this is a Cargo Van and every time I go out in it it's considered to be a business trip because the way this business work is by keeping the Apps that are tied to the business turned on on my phone, those Apps are used for loads offers, and those offers comes in all day every day and I will review the load and what it has to offer then will choose if its right for me. Note: All Apps are tied to the business information including the vehicle and they go through intensive approval process to get them approved.Yes, when I picked up my son I didn't have a load with me and ended up going home with no load being delivered, but the fact that where ever I go in the van the business Apps are turned on for any potential business, this puts the Van in business use even if I come back empty(this is the nature of this business).I tried contacting my adjuster ********** ext. ******* numerous times and kept getting ghosted and get no answer, then I contacted my agent ****** ******** on 03/19/25 same result no answer, then I left a message and emailed ************* manager ********* ****** on 04/01/25 and still no answer.After all of this I would like for the BBB to get this claim # *********** resolved.       I am rejecting this response because: As I have mentioned that those apps I have turned on 24/7 are strictly for business use to receive load offers for the right price anytime of the day no matter what I might be doing. Therfore anytime I am in the van it is cosidered business use, because those apps are being closely monitored for loads that comes in through out the day, it could be every minute,10minutes,half an hour or more for ASAP pick up, and upon receiving the right load offer I will accept it and go straight to pick it up. 

      What the insurance company doesn't understand is that the nature of a ****************** is that the driver is 24 hours a day 7 days a week is on alert for any load offer coming through the app,even if the driver has just delivered a load the next good load might come anytime.

      Driving the van with the apps being turned on for load offers is simply being in business.

      I am rejecting this response because: As I previously indicated that due to the nature of the business anytime that I am driving the van it's considered fo business use, since the business apps are being monitored for loads 24 hours 7 days a week so I can go pick up and drop off loads during any route that I might be on. That route I was on it happened to end with no loads, but I always get loads while on similar routes.That is the only way for a ****************** to succeed is by being on business alert night and day no matter what I might be doing.

      I Filed an insurance claim on February 17 2025 , I was quickly assigned to an adjuster and an appraiser was sent out to look at the damages then they told me to take the truck to a collision center and I did but the collision center had a hard time getting in contact with the insurance company, after that they found out that my fuel system was contaminated and since then I Still dont get an answer on whats going to be done my adjuster keeps lying to me saying to give him until Friday and then another Friday comes by and no updates or no plans on how my insurance will resolve this situation , I also try to get in contact with superiors and managers and leave several voice mails explaining the situation and they never contact me.

      I am rejecting this response because: After I spoke to the manager she basically said the same thing about the fuel sample being tested at a lab to which I still dont receive any updates , I decided to take the truck to the nearest GM collision center they confirmed that the truck does have fuel contamination, last Wednesday when I spoke to a manager my claim was assigned to a new adjuster and ive been trying to reach out to him but havent had any luck, ive left messages and ive been trying to call him but it goes straight to voicemail to this day theres no clear answer on how they will resolve this claim im worried that its already been 2 months and if they decide to fix the truck it will take a couple more weeks or months until the truck can be fixed I feel like Kemper is just trying to neglect me at this point after being a loyal customer for many years.

      I am rejecting this response because: I have been trying to get ahold of my adjuster but hes a hard person to get ahold of its already May 7 and they still dont provide an answer of whats going to happen with my truck I already provided all they asked for , its about to be 3 months since this claim was opened and I feel like Kemper is just neglecting me at this point im always on time with my payments and I have been loyal to kemper for many years but when it comes to me im not getting the same in return, I really need to know whats going to happen with my truck I dont know who to communicate with anymore my adjuster *********** ******* and his superior have been hard to get ahold of

      I received a Notice of Cancellation of my policy dated December 2, 2024. Since making the requested payment I have requested a copy of my policy. I have yet to received a copy of my policy after requesting twice (over the phone) and once in person. Please have Kemper provide proof of coverage past and present or refund my premium payments retroactively.       Accident occurred January 25th, 2025 and i contacted Kemper insurance (insurance of the person who hit me. I filed a claim with Kemper Insurance after an accident in which I was completely stopped and honking my horn as the other driver reversed into me. I was later told I was 10% at fault for not taking invasive action, which makes no sense, as I was stationary and actively trying to prevent the accident. There was no further action I could have ******** the time of the accident, I was in shock and told the adjuster I couldnt provide a statement yet, as I needed to process everything and contact my own insurance. Later, I reached back out to dispute the 10% fault assignment. The assigned adjuster, ******** ******** **************************, ************************************* rarely answered her phone or returned calls. I had to keep chasing her to move my claim forward.Eventually, she agreed to a recorded interview so I could give the full details I couldnt share earlier. I told the truth, clearly explaining everything. She said she would review the statement but never followed up. After I finally got reconnected with her through another person, she told me my statements were inconsistent and the decision would stand. I tried to explain again that I was always truthful just not in the emotional state to give full answers initially. She hung up on me during that conversation and was very dismissive and unprofessional.Kemper also sent me a check for about $900, which does not come close to covering the cost of repairing my vehicle. I believe the claim was mishandled, the communication was extremely poor, and I was treated unfairly throughout this process.I am requesting a review of the fault determination, a reassessment of the claim payout, and an internal review of how my case was handled by the adjuster.Blessings,*****

      Thank you for your response, but I do not accept the explanation or resolution provided by Kemper Insurance.


      To clarify, during my initial contact, I was in a state of emotional shock following the accident. I clearly stated that I needed time to process what had happened and to speak with my own insurance before providing detailed answers. My decision to withhold answers at that moment was not an attempt to avoid cooperation, but a natural response to a traumatic event.


      Despite this, I did fully cooperate afterward. I followed up, and after much difficulty reaching the adjuster due to repeated unreturned calls and messages I agreed to a recorded interview in which I clearly explained the situation:


      I was completely stopped,
      The other driver reversed into me,
      I was actively honking to prevent the collision.




      There was no evasive action possible. I was not moving. Assigning me any portion of fault for not taking evasive action is unreasonable and unfair in a situation where I was stationary and not contributing to the cause of the accident.


      Additionally, the communication throughout this process was unprofessional. I had to chase the adjuster down, and after I provided my full statement, she did not follow up. When I finally reached her again, she claimed my statements were inconsistent simply because I could not provide full details in the first call due to trauma and shock and need to process. She then hung up on me mid-conversation, which I find completely unacceptable.


      Lastly, the $900 payment offered is inadequate to cover the damages. No proper effort was made to ensure a fair settlement, and no consideration was given to the circumstances Ive outlined repeatedly.


      I am again requesting:


      A formal reassessment of the fault determination,
      A re-evaluation of the claim payment,
      And a review of the adjusters handling of my case, particularly regarding her communication and conduct.




      I have been transparent and cooperative throughout this process, and I expect the same level of fairness and respect in return.

      I am rejecting this response because this answer doesnt answer my letter and doesnt include any new information. Klemper is stubborn and doesnt accept that i am of 0% fault even tho i gave explicit reasoning. 

      I must respectfully disagree with your continued determination that I am 10% at fault. Based on the facts and evidence Ive provided, I know I am not at fault in this situation.
      Your latest reply states that I havent provided new information, but it does not address or counter the specific points I raised in my complaint.

      This is not our family's first interaction and disappointment with KEMPER. We recently were hit by someone who is insured through KEMPER on 3/11/25. I filed with the **** my insurance company, and we got a phone call from KEMPER (Person's insurance *** who hit my car) and they asked for details of the accident. We have complied with all of their requests, and our auto insurance company deemed us not at fault. KEMPER approved our claim, and sent us to a repair shop for an estimate, and an approval for repairs was given. We had an appt, dropped off the car, and now we got a call from repair shop stating that KEMPER rescinded their approval and denied it without giving a reason. We have not received a call or letter of denial of our claim. This is not the first time this has happened to us with any involvement with KEMPER. My mom used to have KEMPER and had struggles with contacting anyone there, with getting claims covered, and with issuance of checks. I have sent two emails about the current claim and have not received any response. Auto body shop is also having a hard time getting in contact with KEMPER, and notes are added after the fact that things have been approved. Now my car is stuck in a shop, with no resolution.

      There was no way that Ms. ***** could make a lane change the way that the street was set up during construction. We have complied, and reported to both insurance companies and *** the details of accident. The way the damage happened on both vehicles, it is obvious Ms. ***** was hit by *** ****** who is insured by KEMPER. 

      There were cones set up from the direction that *** ****** was coming from, and he merged into the lane where Ms. ***** was. *** ****** also failed to provide correct details: insurance, registration for the correct vehicle, and took advantage that Ms. ***** had small children in the car. 

      I have already went ahead and paid for repairs on vehicle, because of the way that KEMPER handled the situation, I could not leave vehicle in their preferred shop. I am seeking compensation.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      Im writing to provide additional clarification and request a reconsideration of your decision regarding the collision involving your insured.

      The accident took place in a construction zone where the typical road layout was altered. At the time, there were only two lanes available: a designated left-turn lane, a lane for going straight or right. What would normally be a right-turn lane was closed off with cones due to construction.

      I was stopped at a red light in the through lane, leaving the usual one-to-two car lengths of space in front of me. As your client approached the light, he was driving at a high speed, attempted to merge in front of me to avoid hitting the cones, and struck the front passenger side of my vehicle. This damage location supports my statement that I remained in my lane, and that your client improperly merged into me.

      After the collision, I had to follow your client for him to stop. When we exchanged information, he provided a registration card for a different vehicle than the one he was driving, did not provide insurance information, and claimed he would call the police. He waited around a few minutes because he said an officer was coming, but no one ever showed up. I waited longer because I was trusting of his word, but I later confirmed with the police department that no report was ever filed. 

      Your clients claim that I merged into their lane is not supported by any objective evidence. In fact, none exists from either party. Given this and the physical damage to my vehicle, I believe a fair and thorough review would show your client to be at fault.

      If full liability is not accepted, I urge Kemper to reconsider this claim as a shared liability case (50/50) and reimburse some of the cost I paid.  I already paid for a $2,500 repair bill for an accident I did not cause, and the current outcome does not reflect the facts of the situation.

      I appreciate your time and hope this matter can be reviewed with fairness and all context considered.

      I went in on March 11th to discuss a loan they mentioned to me over the phone. The loan amount is $3200.00. I have no idea about this. I remember a loan if $600 back in 2014, when I lost a grandbaby, and had to **** him. And I kinda forgot about the loan, and now it's just now getting mentioned to me at $3200.00. so I went in and spoke to my agent, ***** ********* and the district mgr. I asked to see paperwork if this loan. They said they have to get it from the corporate office, I says ok, and also I want to know what my policies are worth as of right now, they said that also had to come from corporate. So I've been calling my agent daily to see if he's heard from corporate, and still to the day, they haven't. I just want to see HOW I've accumulated a $3200.00, and ONLY received a check once of $600, if even that much.. And to Kno the remaining with of my policies now. I'd really appreciate the help, because I just simply want to see this info. And they don't have anything to show me. And I'm in a fixed income now, and I don't want to lose my insurance, I've had them since I was like 30' and now I'm 57, I just want to know what's going on, so I'll know what to do, please help, and thank you Sincerely ***** ****.

      I am submitting this complaint to escalate my concerns regarding the KEMPER Insurance Company ***************), claims adjuster ***** ***** (extension *******), claims adjuster Manager ***** ***** (extension *******) and my claim #*********** due to ongoing communication issues and delayed approval/authorization. I want to emphasize that I tried to be proactive throughout this process to prevent these very issues from occurring. Despite my consistent efforts to maintain communication, ***** ***** has continually ignored my attempts to reach her. I stopped contacting ***** and began attempting to contact her manager, ***** *****, who is even worse despite saying on her voicemail recording I will contact you before the end of the day. Even my insurance company, Progressive Insurance (*****-**** **** **** - CL Claims Generalist Associate ****************) Email: ************************ has been unable to get a response from ***** OR ***** following regular daily attempts to gather coverage and liability status. My vehicle is a commercial vehicle that is critical for the operation of my business and is in use all day every day. This failure to respond is clearly an attempt to delay or prevent the payment of the claim. The incident occurred three weeks ago. Kemper sent out ****** ****** ********************************* ************) to document the damage and take photographs. This was the last contact with any Kemper representative. Despite mailing me a form letter with comically low estimates I still have no authorization or approval to begin seeking repairs. With 688 complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau in the last 3 years and an average customer review rating of 1.02 out of 5 stars I would categorize Kemper insurance shady at best.

      My car was hit while parked in a parking lot and pushed forward to hit another parked car by their insured "**** *******"****** ******* has been the adjuster assigned to this claim #***********, and does not return any of my calls. He did acknowledge that they are at fault. They totaled my car instead of fixing it and picked it up at a body shop where I had gotten an estimate for the car. I don't know where my totaled car is. I've made numerous complaints on the phone to this company and have not heard from no ****** car is totaled and I need a settlement for my loss, but can not seem to get anyone to help me. I'm still paying insurance on this totaled car and also making payments.. This company is taking advantage and not being responsible to settle this case. I hope someone can get in touch with them and have them settle this case. They are refusing to contact me to settle this case.
