I dont know why when I call the office on ************** in ********* they never answer the phone. I have called several times and left messages but nobody ever calls me back. I called because I may have fractured my shoulder but they could care less about their patients I also called about a prescription that the pharmacy called them for and they never got back to me or the pharmacy. I have been out of that prescription for over a week. This is just not how they should be treating patientsVillageMD

Bunch of crooks and big liars. My doctor had his own private practice and gave it up to join Village Medical. Now they are closing and we, the patients, will have to find a new doctor.VillageMD

UPDATE: Village Medical is closing all their offices here in Chicago. Obviously I wasn't wrong about how awful Village Medical is.Ive been a patient of Village Medical for about 15 years. Dr. *************** was my primary care doctor, and she was a wonderful doctor. In 2021, ************ sold to Village Medical (VillageMD). After this happened things went downhill with this practice, including Dr. ******** leaving; when she left the practice, I got assigned to *****************************. Where do I start. Ill start with VillageMD. They are part of a medical group called Arcadia, now Guide Health. Everything has to be approved by this medical group. To get a hold of anyone at Arcadia you will wait over an hour on the phone. I needed the *** vaccine. My BCBS insurance instructed me to contact my provider for the vaccine. I contacted VillageMD and was told that we dont provide that vaccine here, that was all I got. I went to a ********* to get the vaccine and paid over $300. I called the insurance, and they said that if the doctors office doesnt offer the vaccine, they were supposed to provide me a referral to an office or facility that does provide that vaccine so it would be covered. I called back the doctors office, and they obviously did not know this. I told them to research this and get back to me. I called Arcadia the medical group and they told me the office should have given me a referral or instructed me to submit my receipt to Arcadia for a full refund. I did and got my refund. This office is obviously oblivious to any insurance practices or to their own medical groups processes.Another change is that now they have a call center that is offsite, the office does not get direct calls anymore. This was a horrible change.I do not recommend this Village Medical Group. Worst experience ever with this medical group.VillageMD

************************* at Village Medical in ******* created a very hostile environment for me at my appointment. The first interactions with her were confusing at best. I wasn't sure if she was even discussing the correct patient when she saw me. Eventually, after she left the room and came back in, I had to ask her to please explain a couple of things to me (very nicely). She became very short with me and even rolled her eyes at one point, which made me feel stupid for asking. She left the room once more to print my summery of the visit and slammed the door behind her, now clearly upset about something. She returned, handed me my medical records and said that I should "probably find a new practice to go to for my care". I was totally shocked. Maybe she was having a bad day so, I asked my sister about her (who recommended ************************* to me) and she said that she recommended her because she was close by where we live and found out after that she had heard some not great things about her knowledge and temper. I guess I need to "find a new practice to go to" now. What a pain!VillageMD

Made an appointment with them and they made a mistake and canceled the appointment without verbal consent. They said they left me a voice message which they never did aka there is no record of a voice message from them. I have a child and work full time it is difficult to schedule an appointment. At least they could email or text me that the appointment was canceled. I will probably take my services else where.VillageMD

I visited Village Medical in Feb 2023 for a virus. It is noted in their records that I was there for fatigue. But Village Medical coded my visit as a Wellness checkup. Which it was not. I called numerous times to different departments, never getting anyone to change the coding. I was refusing payment from my insurance company when I went to my "primary" doctor in ** for my actual WELLNESS Checkup. I feel Village Medical took advantage of me and my insurance company . At no time when I called for a appointment or while I was there, was I asked to receive a Wellness checkup. I am a "snowbird".VillageMD

Village Medical *******************: Unacceptable on so many levels. (1) call center employees deciding whether I can see my long-standing Physician! (2) Urgency: The ** staff referred me to follow up with my Family Physician ASAP. It has been over a week and multiple phone calls and requests through the portal, including the call center only staffed for emergencies over the weekend (no ability to schedule any appt. on any day) Both the portal and call center say, "Your provider will respond in 2-3 days." Not an acceptable practice following an emergent care situation. BTW their press release states, "Village Medical patients have access to same-day appointments and virtual health visits with a Village Medical provider." Not true!I will be:(1) writing my congressmen, senators, governor, AMA, etc., and joining in the growing group of physicians and consumer advocates in multiple states pushing for stiffer enforcement of decades-old statutes that prohibit the ownership of medical practices by corporations not owned by licensed doctors. ******** has CPOM laws meant to fight the commercialization of medicine, maintain the independence and authority of physicians, and prioritize the doctor-patient relationship over the interests of investors and shareholders. Village Medical has successfully sidestepped bans on owning medical practices by buying or establishing ************** groups that are nominally owned by doctors and restricting the physicians authority, so they have no direct control. 3 of the Board members are from venture capitalist firms. Their site states" as the company expands into larger, faster-growing profit pools." Village Medical has nothing to do with health and is burning out its physicians - definitely requires more regulation. (2) Unfortunately, if I (and my family )cannot continue a relationship with my physician of 10 years because of corporate interference, I will be shopping for a new provider, I still am a customer and have choices.VillageMD

I think Village Medical is thee absolute worst health care company I've ever dealt with in my many, many years of receiving care anywhere. They are industrial medicine at it's worst. Their care, concern, communication and policies are geared for nothing but profit. They are buying practices all over the country, "serving", lol, over 1M patients nationwide. If this is the future of healthcare, we are all in big trouble. And unfortunately, other large healthcare companies are following their lead. I find this new philosophy very concerning. So the one free annual exam allowed has now become a joke. The patient is not allowed to ask ANY questions at your annual exam or you will be billed to a second exam. Even if your doctor asks you if you have any questions or concerns, you will be billed for asking. Village Medical's billing department is located in *********** and they are horrid. Try speaking to someone at your office and expect to spend hours getting the runaround. No one should use this company. At a time when ********* are being more and more squeezed, receiving less and less goods and services for your dollar, now this. This is the reason we are no longer even close to the greatest country on Earth. Profiteering on the backs of sick people? The only country on Earth to make health care a for profit business. Village Medical is the worst and they are part of what is/has ruined our country. I'm saying all of this as someone who can afford to pay their outrageous fees but what about average *********? Who speaks for them? Our elected representatives??? Why do they have amazing insurance but are very ok with their constituents losing ground every day??? LOBBYISTS!!!!!! I fear a revolution is imminent because what will people do when they are broke with nowhere to turn? Please spread the word that everyone should avoid this company and send a clear message that we are not going to just accept this kind of treatment. It's disgusting! One star is too generous. Associates in Family Medicine was an excellent source for people to work with their doctors that was until they were bought by Village Medical. Village Medical is absolutely horrific and they lie because they claim that they are there to make patient/doctor relationships easier. That is far from the truth. I have had to wait no less than 15 minutes to get someone to answer the phone and more than 45 minutes to get someone to answer the phone and I have been seen by so many doctors because I can't get in to see my primary. So how can I build a rapport Village Medical is a absolute nightmare.VillageMD

I go to village medical for my wellbeing because I really like my doctor of many years. A couple of years ago I was charged for a referral during my well being (note: during the wellbeing the doctor just gave me a referral/name, we didnt discussed the issue itself) I got charges for that (VM getting paid twice by the insurance plus my copay for a full visit, just for a business card), ****** learned, I called, they never acknowledged my claim. I paid. Now when I go for my physical, I barely breath because they will charge otherwise. However in October I asked my doctor if she could renew a prescription and if that would incur in charges, she said it was a courtesy. (note: refill was just a click, there was no discussion, no treatment, just a mouse click) I got charged for a full visit, again. I have called VM and my insurance (Anthem) and they have been playing ping pong saying that they need to talk to each other, but in 3 months they have not been able to do so. Whenever I contact VM or the insurance they say the other office hasn't returned the call, and at the same time VM sends a reminder to pay the balance. I understand from VM to do not want to resolve the problem because they get paid twice for a single visit (plus my copay) , but it is also very sad to understand that VM and insurance might be together in this. Internally, VM is also not acknowledging my messages. If I write to the nurse they say they don't have control over billing (understandable) but when I contact billing they say they don't know what happens during the visit. It sounds like they internal part of the business dont communicate, and that is frustrating and disappointing.VillageMD
