My mom was transferred from **************** Hospital to her home as she is basically bed ridden. The two Superior Ambulance gentlemen were by far the most professional, caring and polite individuals I have had the pleasure to counter in awhile. I was only able to get their first names **** and *******. The date was 12/07/23 at 5:45 PM. They need to be recognized in some type of manner.

Went to local hospital. Needed surgery no one in the area could provide. They had to drive me 2-2 1/2 hours to new hospital. No IV's or any equipment. Just a ride. Received a bill for ****** dollars from superior. Insurance picked up ****** but left us with *****. Tried to negotiate paying off the balance but they would not have it. Had to be paid off in 18 months. They should have been happy with the insurance payment.

First of all this company should be ashamed of themselves for putting people in financial burden. My husband was admitted at our local hospital on 2/25/2023, per doctor's request he needed to be transported to a hospital 101 miles away. Local hospital had arranged transportation via ambulance with local company. This company was unable to transport him due to high call volume in the area and weather conditions. Local hospital called hospital that he was being transferred to and this is when Superior Ambulance comes in, at the time I was very thankful for the service until I got a bill for $5899.00 which my BCBS paid $1556.60 and my coinsurance $389.14, leaving me a balance of $3953.26. I called Superior Ambulance asking why such a high out of pocket balance and I was told they do not par with BCBS and I need to reach out to BCBS, which I did and appealed. Which was denied. I feel that when this company is called to transport a patient when it should be told they do not par with their insurance, I was told they don't deny anyone, What a joke!! In the meantime, I asked if they could accept my payment of $1945.74 as paid if full due to hardship, did not hear anything back, I called again and asked if they gave any discount, was denied and was told that they could put me on a payment plan which was very unrealistic, do they think this is my only bill!! My husband was inpatient for 15 days along with testing etc. I have been sending in payments at what I can afford and now I get a letter from a collection agency, even with making payments. I feel that this is extortion, and someone needs to put a stop to this outrageous gouging. I would really like someone to reach out to me to discuss further.

I went to the ** from my city emergancy dpt. In April 2023. The Hospital did not notify me or my fiance that this company was not in my network with my insurance. This transport was only about a 15 minute ride. They sent me a bill for $7,800. The total cost of my hospital visit was just over $11,000. So this to me is unacceptable amount of money for them to charge for something like this!

Shame on the company for overbilling patients due to their exemption from the Federal No Surprise ****! I refuse to pay their outrageous bill of $3,350. Their service was ordered by the police. There was no time or method to refuse their service or find another company. Their rates are at least 3 times other company and can get away with it since they can now claim themselves "out of network" for the whole population. I have no problem paying the respectable amount of $800 that our insurance company has applied to our deductible. We used another ambulance company in northern ******** around the same time and their rate was 1/3 that of Superior. They are taking advantage of people by their price gouging.

My husband had to be transported 16 miles for an appendectomy. They would not allow me to transport him myself. I later received a bill in the mail for over $3000. After reading the explanation of charges, I noticed a Bariatric Charge for $600. My husband is by no means considered a bariatric patient. I contacted the company and asked why this charge was on my bill. He informed me that the fee is assessed for patients over 250 lbs. I informed him that he is not over 250lbs, he then stated that they also add it for patients over 6ft. I told them he is 6ft, and he then said "Well 6ft and over". He ambulated himself to the cot and to the hospital bed when he arrived at Grove City. Our Anthem BCBS denied the claim. I informed him that he also has coverage through the VA and he said, "I wouldn't worry about any of the charges, the VA will pay it." The problem is none of this information is given to Superior by clinical staff when they give report for transport. I work in the emergency room and deal with this company often. They did not measure his height and weight, nor did they even ask him. They are adding fees to patient accounts that do not pertain to them.

To start off the superior originally billed out $4581 and after insurance they still were trying to charge $852.78 and would not write off the remaining balance for transportation of my son on 3/29/2023. Then I filed an appeal with my insurance and was accepted and insurance sent out an electronic check on 6/22/2023 for the $852.78. So thought everything was great and taken care of but to my surprise a couple weeks later they are still trying to send a bill for the remaining balance and has been a battle ever since. Between myself and insurance I have called in multiple times and sent the electronic check number and explanation of benefits to superior. At which they tell me we have no way to locate that check and I have called so much to insurance over this situation that one insurance agent ******* from my insurance ********** blue shield with ****** on 9/8/2023 personally called the ambulance company and spoke with ******* and verified all the information was correct with the electronic check number and anything else they wanted and ******* thought everything was all taken care. Then I get a surprise letter again from from 9/24/2023 that they are still trying to say my family owes $852.78. So I immediately called insurance and spoke to ******* again and forwarded this document that they are wanting to send it to collections and spoke with Superior to put an extension to try and get this resolved even though everything should be. Then yesterday 10/6/2023 I see another letter in the mail from Superior trying to bill the $852.78 but in the messages at the bottom they put. We filed a claim with your insurance, they have denied your claim. This balance is now your responsibility. Which is not the case they have not spoke with insurance. I spoke back with ******* which who has been now the like lead agent on this case and she is almost speechless. She dont understand either Superior received an electronic check on 6/22/2023

Superior charged us $8000 for a 20 min ride to transfer my daughter from the ** by our house to a childrens hospital. It was literally just a ride and they charged us this inflated price and our insurance is only paying **** so we are stuck with the remainder!!! When you call them they are so cold and uncaring and do not care that their prices are higher than other ambulances and surprise you with outrageous pricing for no reason at all!! It seems no one cares what they are doing and they get away with it!! They are taking advantage of people who are in emergency situations and no one is protecting the consumer. I even asked if I could drive my daughter to the hospital and they said that is not allowed otherwise she would lose the transfer to get a room!! Forced to do what they say and in the end we get screwed!!! How can they get away this ??????
