This is only the second time I plugged the blanket in and instantly smoke started coming out of the controller. And it smelled awful. I just bought it and am disappointed in the product.Business Response

I purchased a full size microplush gray electric blanket from Target on 11/7/21 and paid $61.51. I believe I registered the blanket for warranty but attempted to so on your website and it would not allow me to do so with the serial number./tracking number. I have attached my original receipt from target along with the model and tracking number on the blanket. Half of the blanket has stopped heating. I called the customer service number ************** on 11/4/22 and was on hold for 15 minutes and then again on 11/7/22 and was on hold for 30 minutes. After being on hold for 30 minutes on 11/7/22 I then decided to follow the instructions to email ******************************************* It is now 12/3/22 and I have not received a reply from anyone. I do know that the blanket has a five year warranty and I would like a replacement mailed to me. After not using it for the season, I plugged in one side of my micro plush electric heated king-size blanket and putrid smoke came out of the controller. I then swapped the controllers, and it happened again. I used a third controller from my electric mattress pad, and it happened a third time. I purchased a Biddeford electric throw on November 28, 2022, which I sent to a family member as a gift. The family member, a senior citizen, has limited heating in her home.I registered the warranty information online with Biddeford, but the website doesn't give a confirmation after submitting.The heated throw didn't last a day.The controller became extremely hot to the touch, which is a burn and fire hazard. Then the controller quit working, flashing red, blanket stopped heating. It was immediately unplugged due to the fire hazard. I have tried calling Biddeford customer service numerous times, but no one answers the phone. I emailed customer service and their response was to call them.I want Biddeford to replace the blanket.
