1 starI felt that I was scammed to open up a Crate & Barrel credit card. I was at the ****** store in ********, **. on 10/22/2022. I purchased a tea kettle and checked out, the clerk told me that I can save $40 by opening the Crate & Barrel credit card in addition to earning rewards through my purchase. I agreed so the clerk voided my transaction, opened a card for me, and put my tea kettle purchase on the Crate & Barrel credit card. When I saw the balance, it did not include the $40 savings (the store claimed that it was a time-limited promotion that was happening at that time). They told me I could use it on my next purchase without telling me how. I called back the store many times and was first told it would come with my first statement. That didn't happen of course. The tea kettle was defected because the thermostat needle was not functioning, so I returned the kettle 3 weeks later. Later I called the store about my $40 savings, and they told me to call the bank because this was controlled by the *************** The bank said there was never such promotion offered and I needed to talk to the store. I can accept the fact that I lost the saving since I returned the merchandise, but I can't accept the fact that I was lied to in the first place. There was never a $40 savings offered and the store won't take any responsibility for their employee's misconduct.Review fromMERLI G

1 starThis has been the worst experience with an order we've ever had. We made an in store purchase on April, the sales associate told us that 2 of the items were ready for delivery and the other 6 were going to take 2 to 3 months as much, and we accepted it as a reasonable time due to the chain supply disruptions, and because we liked the items (dining chairs) so much. On May 6th we received the 2 promised items, but one of them was incomplete (just received one of two boxes) no matter that it appeared at the online inventory as available. Since then, today is Nov 23rd, the items have been contantly delayed, and the worst situation was today, when after making a hard claim on them, and a promised delivery for today too, it was canceled during the night and notified early in the morning via email. It's 6 months now, with the purchase charge already in our credit card and payments being made since the beginning. They have fooled us several times and yet, nothing. Only apology after apology but with no one wanting to really solve the issue. To make things worse, today was going to pay the C&B credit card used for this purchase only to realize that after being offered a 12 to 24 months interest free purchase, I was already charged the interests only after 6 months of the purchase. How is it possible that EVERYTHING in this purchase can go so bad? How incompetent can a company be in order to mess everything related to a single and simple furniture purchase?Crate& Barrel? Never again.Review fromJennifer R.

1 starCrate and Barrel is aggressively promoting and selling items they knowingly do not have in stock and not telling consumers these items are not in stock. I placed an order on November 12, 2022 and I received notice my items were available for pickup on November 20, 2022. I arrived at the store for pickup on November 22, 2022 and was told my order was not fulfilled and 75% of my order was not only unavailable, but one item was on backorder until January 2023. This was 2 days before Thanksgiving, which left me no time to replace the backordered items (one was a turkey cutting board). There were several problems with this order, but the main problem is C&B knew these items were on backorder and never communicated the issue until I was in their pickup zone. They also told me the items were available for pickup, then treated me like a liar when I arrived. Their website it constantly down, so it took me 20 minutes to pull up my account information with a very clear "order ready for pickup" message. At pickup, the employee told me they received 600+ orders and could not fulfill all of them - yet they continue to sell the backordered items. I was initially annoyed at the employee, but he was extremely overwhelmed, and I felt terrible for him. So, C&B has no issue s******* over both customers and employees. I have been a customer for years. My kitchen is C&B. I am done shopping at C&B until they improve their service levels for both customers and employees.Review fromKarin K

1 starExtremely long wait, longer than they say, and poor service Bought two sleep sofas in May and was told up to 6 months for delivery. Bought because having company at Christmas. In these 6 months they have no idea where your furniture is or when it might be finished (comes from *****?), and they can'y give you an update. I find this appalling - it's a furniture company - how can they not know the status of your furniture? I finally get the call that my furniture is ready for delivery (after the full 6 months) - to their warehouse in the ** (I'm in ******, bought on the ******** site). When they say "6 months delivery" they mean to them, not you. From there it's another 4 weeks to get to ****** (and another $700 per sleeper added on later for this privilege), and another 2 weeks to get a delivery company in my city to get to me. I won't get my furniture until earliest the end of the year. Too late. I ordered May 28 for 6 month delivery, and their next projected date for delivery to me is Dec 27. I ended up going to Ikea and buying two sleeper sofas to accommodate Christmas guests - now I will be stuck with 2 over priced sleeper sofas. There is of course NO WAY to cancel the 'bespoke' order no matter how bad their service. I don't know why someone would put up with that level of service. Oh - also - no way to leave a bad review on their site. In the meantime spoken to some designer friends and find that they don't buy from C&B for this very reason. Expensive ****** learned.Review fromElisia P

1 starI ordered a wedding gift in April 2022. One of 3 items was on backorder or not available. Eventually I was refunded the money for that 1 item. 8 Months later I see a charge on my account and an email saying that the item has been shipped. I received no notification prior to that and I did not have an opportunity to approve the use of my card being charged. It was charged for more than what was refunded initially. After the money has been refunded it should be case closed. They should not keep trying to ship an item or charge my credit card 8 months later for an item without asking if I still want the item.Review fromEleanor G

1 starMade an order through crate and barrel for furniture. Contacted to schedule Fragile*** to obtain the item and was told it would be another 2-3 weeks later. When Fragile *** contact me with emails or texts every 2 hours, I scheduled a delivery on Oct 21, 2022 and received multiple confirmation emails and a phone call for 9am-1pm that day. No one called or showed up. I emailed Fragile *** and they replied a day later that they had attempted delivery the day before (10/24) and no one was home, and they need approval by crate and barrel to attempt a redelivery. I let them know that was an absolute lie because there was no doorbell camera record or phone call. When I called to complain to crate and barrel, a new scheduling link was sent. However, in the middle of the chat with C&B, I was told "it's not our fault" that the delivery service they contracted with was not able to deliver the furniture I paid for including shipping. Based on other reviews of Fragile ***, I would steer clear of any furniture orders from crate and barrel until they can contract with a better shipper. The furniture was delivered on 10/26, however when they came they attempted to forgo the placement, unpacking, or assembly because "it's not that hard." So we had to argue with them yet again to provide the services already paid for and promised per their confirmation email.Review fromDonna L

1 starIf I could take away stars, I would do a -10. I have the same exact experience as some of the most recent reviews talked about - that is items get repeatedly delayed and when delivery was scheduled not delivered - but only worse x10. My two Taj dining chairs were purchased more than 1 year ago in Sept 2021 with an initial estimated delivery date of November. November came and they're not available until ***, and from that point on they just kept pushing the estimated delivery date back to September 2022 - a full year after they're purchased and PAID for. Yet when they're first available to schedule pickup, I never received a notification until I called and realized they could be delivered. That only began another episode of nightmare with this company - which until now it's still unresolved. I scheduled my FIRST delivery with them in early September, got confirmation and a window of delivery time a couple days before - but it never came. I called to find out what happened but they never gave me a satisfactory response. This same cycle of events happened a total of FOUR times now. Each time a delivery was scheduled, didn't happen, I called and they told me later oh they're ready to schedule now, but I still don't get the items I ordered after more than a month of playing this game with them. At this time of the review, I'm working with who is supposedly a "manager" (who knows if that's true), who said she spoke with the people at my regional and local warehouse and now she told me they're dealing with some "technical" issues that are hindering delivery of my chairs. While she sounded sincere, she also seems utterly clueless and incompetent as a manager in how to resolve the issue. I, as a customer, was the one who suggested multiple solutions for her to consider in resolving this issue. This is unbelievable. I'm going to file a complaint with the ************************ for sure for the way they practice their business.Review fromGustavo C

1 starAwful customer care. We were given $700 dollars on store awards and wanted to use it in something that we really needed. One day my wife and decided to use the rewards and when employee checked our card there was no more awards. It had expired. So we lost hundreds of dollars because we was unaware of the 90 days policy. This is outrageous and absurd! No one in their minds would not spend that earned rewards if they knew it was about to expire. Why would you put an expiration period on this? I used to spend so much money on that store. Never ever putting my feet again in there. Awful and shameful disrespect to customers.Review fromNiraj T

1 starI had an in-home consultancy with Crate and Barre scheduled for 6:00 PM on October 14, 2022. It was through their ****************************** location (the "Store"), located in ****************. Day before, I received a message reminding that I have an appointment. So, today, I drove from ***** to Hollywood, where the consultant was supposed to meet me. It took me 1.3 hours to drive there. At 5:30 PM on October 14, 30 mins before the interview, I get a call from the store Saying they cant do the appointment. The employee who called informed me that the manager forgot to tell him about the appointment until early that day and he couldn't make it and had to cancel the appointment. I told him I cant reschedule because I have work during the week and on Saturday my movers were moving everything in the home. Moreover, I couldn't do Sunday because I took some time off work today to make the meeting and had to make up for it on Sunday. He said, cant do today. In short, 30 mins before the meeting I was told "too bad, so sad. Then, around 545, I call the Store to speak with the manager, because it was his fault and to try and get him to send somebody. I was told the manager was busy and to stay on the line. I was on the line for 2 hrs and the manager did not answer. After 1 hr into waiting, I started a chat with the company, informing them of my predicament. They tried to contact the Store, but the Store wouldn't answer them. Roughly 2 hrs after my call to the store, the company convinced the Store to pick up, around *******. I was informed that the manager is busy and he tried to call me earlier and I didn't answer. That was a lie because the person who finally answered the phone repeated the number to call me and it wasn't my number. The manager called at 755, and said cant do anything today cause they close in 5 mins. So, they canceled the meeting 30 mins before the meeting, made me stay on the line for 2 hrs, and shortly before closing called back.Review fromKate C

1 starThis company is clueless. I ordered a chair to be picked up at the local warehouse. I received an email saying it was ready to be picked up and called to arrange pick up. After this, I received a follow-up email saying they don't have it after all and it won't be ready for another two and a half months - which is over a month after the date it was supposed to be ready. I wouldn't mind if it was actually ready by the date I was originally given but am annoyed that not only did they give me inaccurate information twice, but the date it will be ready has already shifted out significantly from the one I was given at the time of purchase. Hopefully this isn't going to be the start of repeated delays as others have described.
