0n March 26 2024 was contacted by performance auto salvage stating that they had a 2003 ****** Solara convertible boot and wanted $ 371 for it I sent a check for the total amount. APRIL 3 2024 the check cleared, and I sent notice to ******************* at performance auto. he stated he would have the part shipped and notify me of the tracking number--- I never received it and I waited for 20 days and contacted him by email, still nothing has happened- I believe 26 days is enough time for him to have shipped this to me, to be honest he could have walked it here in that time. I tried to phone him but got no answer.I believe this is a scam and I would like to have my money back and I am really interested in how this man got a license since, from the research I have just completed he has a lot of similar complaints in the last 12 months. At this point all I want is my money back and the world to know about PERFORMANCE AUTO SALVAGE LLC.Initial Complaint

I found this company online while looking for a discontinued YAW sensor for my 2011 Cadillac CTS. I spoke with someone who said his name was *****. He walked me through the payment process staying in touch to make sure money was wired and said once check clears he would send me a picture of the part and part#. Check cleared and ***** no longer responds to my email. I called a number and was sent to a ******* voicemail with no response. I would like my money returned so i can contact an actual auto parts dealer.Initial Complaint

I ordered a door trim part from them on 12/5 for $265. I received an email on 12/6 confirming the order. On 12/22 I received an email from them after I asked when I could expect the part; the answer was "By the first week of January you will get your part, Due to the holidays there is a little delay in the shipment.". Then on 1/15 I received a general email stating that late part receipts and holiday manpower were causing a longer delay. The last sentence was "Order will be ship out to you by next week." So, on Feb 3rd, I sent another email asking for the delivery date and asked for a tracking number. I received a response on the same day (to my surprise) that said "I will look into this and get back to you." Fast forward to 3/2, I sent them an email cancelling the order and requesting a refund. Again, I got a response on the same day with the exact same message as before "will look into this and get back to you." I sent another email on 3/10 and have not received a response yet. Thanks for any assistance you might be able to provide.Initial Complaint

I ordered and paid $340 for an auto part over five months ago. The wrong part was sent and I asked for them to either exchange the product or refund my money. They first said they would exchange the part but never did. Then they said they would refund me and have been telling me for over two months that they are processing my refund. They refuse to take my call and the email responses are always the same: "I will call you" or "we are processing your check". Meanwhile, I found another company that executed my order flawlessly in less than a week. I need them to refund me the $420 I paid them and for the BBB to warn others that this business is not one they want to deal with.Initial Complaint

Our **** Explorer needs new passenger side doors because the present ones got damaged. After doing some research on the internet, and making some phone calls I decided to get salvage doors from Performance Auto Salvage. I ordered the doors through them because they had the dark gray color that I needed. I thought that would reduce the cost of the repair since they wouldn't need painting. On December 7, 2023 I had $2,750 wired to the company with the understanding that they would ship the doors within a few days. This total included an extra $150 for safer packaging of the doors. In January, I got a call telling me that one of the doors would not be dark gray because that one got damaged as they took it from a vehicle. I was to be refunded to offset the cost of painting that would need to be done on that door. I've made several phone calls when I'm told leave a number and they will call me back - which I do and never get a call back. The e-mails (and there have been several) to ******************* who sold me the doors are usually answered with, "I'll look into it and get back to you." I've told him that I want the order cancelled and the money refunded so I can purchase other doors and get my damaged vehicle fixed, but I always get the same response, "I'll look into it." Please help us to rectify this situation or at least warn other buyers that this is not a reputable company.Initial Complaint

On August 14th 2023 I ordered an auto engine for a 2018 Kia ******* via an online site. I received a phone call back from a ***** who was confirming my purchase. I requested to pay via credit card and was told they only accept *****. I processed a zelle payment for $4600. I then received a phone call back requesting me to send the Zelle payment to a different address. My money was immediately refunded right then and I proceeded to send a new payment to the new address. That happened on August 14th 2023. Since that date I have NOT received my engine. I was told it would be shipped to my mechanics garage but he has not received it either. According to the agreement I would receive a shipping tracking number when the engine was shipped in roughly 7 business days. I have an invoice with the amount I paid to Performance Auto Salvage on ***** ************, **********, ********.After waiting several weeks I starting calling to see where the engine was. I was told they had shipped it to the wrong address. Another time I was told the engine was damaged and replacement sent. None of this was true. I was then told I would receive a refund.I have called and spoken to a ***** ************ at least 10 times and each time a new excuse is given and he now says the billing department is issuing the refund. Again no refund has been received.I cannot afford to have lost $4600 and not receive an engine. I do not believe this is a legitimate company and I believe I have am a victim of a scam that I suspect is much wider than just my case. After further investigation there is no storefront for Performance Auto Salvage. It appears from ****** Map it is a residential address. I think this company is just taking peoples money and have no intentions of ever fulfilling the auto part.Form of Relief Seeking full refund of $4600 paid to Performance Auto Salvage.Thank You *********************Initial Complaint

Ordered a tailgate for a 2013 **** F150 which I paid via PayPal on 9 DEC 2023. As of today, I have not received a tracking number for the Item I ordered after numerous phone calls. With the initial phone call stating that my tailgate would be shipped and delivered within one week of my placed order. After asking why the item had not been shipped, I was told by customer service that there was a delay in shipping due to the holidays.Customer Answer

Complaint: ********
In regard to Complaint #********, I have further information to add to the existing complaint. On 22 JAN ****, I finally received a phone call after repeatedly calling and leaving messages requesting a supervisor, a representative from Performance Auto Salvage called me about my request for a Refund. The representative who didn't identify himself, wanted to know why I requested a refund when the Tailgate was already shipped or in transit. I told the representative that upon receiving the email with the apology and further stating that I would have to wait an additional week for the tailgate to ship was unacceptable and that I had replied to the same email that I wanted a REFUND and that waiting another week was not what I wanted to do.The representative repeatedly over and over insisted that If I was to wait another week, the tailgate would be delivered. It seemed to me that his entire conversation was leaning on persuading me and pressuring me to agree to another week instead of agreeing to refund the money. The representative even asked me if the tailgate was delivered, would I accept which I informed him that even if the tailgate was delivered, I would gladly and without hesitation, ship the tailgate back,The representative tried repeatedly again and again to get me to agree for more time along with apology after apology which after being frustrated, I finally told him again and for the last time, that all I wanted is a REFUND and what is it I needed to do for this to happen. The representative finally acknowledged that he would have to contact the shipper on what the status of the tailgate as far as where it is at in the shipping process before he would be able to move forward with the refund. and that once it was agreed, it would take 4 days for the refund to be delivered. From the representative's response, I do not have a clue, nor do I know what Performance Auto Salvage actions are concerning the REFUND I believe I'm ***********. This whole experience has been a nightmare, and I have lost total trust in this company's willingness to honor my wishes as a customer. From experience, and what I already know and expect, I'm going to call them in a couple of days, and I'm probably going to talk to someone different and they are going to act as if the conversation with the representative never happened. I believe this company probably already has a track record of being shady and deceptive. I hope I'm wrong, but I know I'm not the first victim. As a result of this whole experience with this business, I do not believe anything this company says and I feel they will do everything they can to NOT HONOR A REFUND.I BEG YOU FOR ANY ASSISTANCE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE AND I HOPE AND PRAY THAT MY COMPLAINT(S) ARE PUBLICIZED FOR ANY FUTURE CUSTOMERS TO BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANYS WAYS OF DOING BUSINESS. I believe nobody should have to experience what I had to go through with this business.
Sincerely,
