My account with discover bank was closed and I wasnt told as to why this happened. I did notice some unusual unauthorized failed transactions. So I figured that they could resolve the issue being that I was covered under their 0 liability rules. But it seems as though they, themselves violated their own terms of the agreement that they had set out uphold while I was a member. But now I see that my debit and credit privileges have been revoke and Im stuck with a balance that Im responsible for all after coming to the clear understanding that they operated under a 0 liability rule (for lack of better term). But still I feel that if carefully reviewed it shows that the wrong doing (if any) was not done by me, but in fact committed by the bank.Thank you,*************************************Business Response

After applying for a home equity loan 2 months ago I was notified today that the value of my home was $775,000. Within 1/4 mile from my home (eyesight) there are 19 million dollar homes being built and sold in the $950,000 to $1.5M price range the same size of mine on similar lots (not landscaped) the houses are being built with construction loans to their prospective buyers and title Will be transferred at the time of move in. My house just finished construction of a $175,000 addition to include a new pool and has been heavily landscaped. It is obvious that Discover Bank has delayed for two months the correct value of the property and is also obvious that these delays are a result of media and government involvement with rising Fed Funds Rate and stories of real estate values anticipated to decline. This is a ploy by the Bank to use bait and switch advertising to into entice borrowers to do business with the bank and it now desire to back away from these earlier commitments. Our application indicates over $500,000 in annual income and credit scores in the high 700s and low 800s. I have reached out to the US Treasury and also the **** today for this illegal activity by Discover Bank since the harm experienced is astronomical given where rates have gone since waiting for my loan to be approved. I have also received a BPO (broker price opinion) indicated by the largest real estate firm in **********, ** that the value of my property is between $925,000 and $1.1m dollars. Discovers value utilizing a drive by appraisal and an unknown AVM (automated valuation model) is $250,000 lower. I fully expect for Treasury and the **** to open an investigation on how this decision on my loan compares to your recent experience.Business Response

I fell victim of a scam. Someone online had me use my cc to buy goods. This person sent me ACHS to my cc account to reimburse me. ALL FUNDS Were returned NSF or invalid account. I came to Discover letting them know all transactions that were fraud, filing a fraud complaint and a dispute as I had fallen victim to the internet scam. I provided all correspondence and the police report and Discover is refusing to help and has held me accountable for these funds when I have been a victim of financial scam. I am being penalized for being a victim of a scam. Ive been take advantage of, thats hard enough. I am financially struggling, my anxiety and depression has become so bad. This is not right to make a victim pay for being a victim in a scam. Please dispute the charges. Refunding for good.Business Response

I took out a student loan with a cosigner in August of 2016. The original loan amount was ****** and was deferred till I got out of college in 2020. The interest rate for my co-signer was *****% so they tacked on over $7,500 of interest since my monthly payments began.I've been having trouble making the payments of $236 a month because I haven't been able to find a steady job so I've asked them several times for different payment programs to help me out. But with the interest being so high their programs never work out. If they do a deferment they add more interest on so you never get anywhere with the payments. The loan is up to $19,000. I recently asked them if I could go on a lower monthly payment and they agreed to lower to $198 which isn't very much from my $236 payment. But then they proceed to tell me that when the 6 months of lower payments is finished they're going to add on more interest which means this loan is never going to get paid off and I don't think it's fair that there's that much interest being added on. Why offer somebody reduce payment plan or deferment and then pack all that interest right back on and all they're doing is making more money off my lower payments. If you're going to help somebody out you should be able to forgive most of that interest. When I originally took the loan out they told me there was a cosigner release after 12 months of payments and now they're telling me there is no cosigner release with loans that originated with discover. And that's another issue within 2 months after Discover gave me the loan they transferred it to *********** for a few months and then *********** transferred it back to Discover. And then I had *********** telling me that there was a cosigner release and then when it went back to Discover now all of a sudden there isn't a cosigner release. I don't know what to do because it doesn't matter what kind of payment plan they put me on they add extra interest which makes the loan go higher and higher.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: On the cosigner release form, why does every other loan origination date qualify for release except for those after 2012 which mine is? And putting someone in a reduced payment only helps at the present time, but you put all that interest back on the loan when the program is done and then that solves nothing. Why not forgive the interest for that period??
Sincerely,

On 1/27/2022 a moving company fraudulently used my credit card. I did not give the company permission/ authorization to use my card. That day I received a notification from the discover app that my card had been used and the charge was pending. I immediately called discover to inform them that i did not authorize or use my card. The representative at the time stated that I had to allow the charge to go through. I explained to her my concern that i will be held liable for a charge I did not authorize and that the scam company decided to double charge me once they arrived and I had already full paid them per attached receipts and cash given to the movers. I have talked to several representatives in all departments and no one is trying to help me with this matter even with 2 police reports. No one can explain to me why I am still being charged for this fraudulent charge that I informed discover of immediately when it was pending, but discover allowed it to go through anyway and did nothing to stop the fraud.Business Response

I called to make a balance transfer to my card and was told that they had closed my acct days ago and I would have to submit a new application that would result in a hard inquiry and adding of a new acct that would severely damage my 810 credit rating. I have never missed a payment, been late even once and have an extensive history with this company. This is a predatory move to damage peoples credit rating resulting in higher charges to the consumer and higher profit for the company.Business Response

I filed a dispute in august with documentation that the company said I had accesed it since july 2021 I called today when I got my bill I got transfered 4 times then just left on hold that was 40 minutes then I called back and got transfered 3 times on 6 of the calls reps told me this is a reacuring charge on the last 1 from the fraud **** they say its not so i am tired of being lied to about everything to do with this case and also why discover is the only credit card company that even when I order a new card that reacuring charges would still go thru even if it is proved to be fraud so I have to a stop even with a new card and I still dont know since I was given so many different answers to this charge as it being a new charge which fraud **** says it is being manually put in and btw mt cc is locked up in my safety deposit box and the others tell me it reacurruing so as a company you need to start showing respect to ur customers and protecting them and I should be able to get the same answer to the same question instead of different answers and reasons and also if the I lose the dispute you should notify me which never happened I called cause I got a new statement is the only way I knew i would also like discover to explain why if it is proven to fraude or an inacurate charge even with a new card that you would allow that company to keep charging the new card I was told by fraud that all charges would be reversed which I am not sure what is the truth after all I went thru todayBusiness Response
