There is issues with discover credit card double billing me for services and items. They are stating that it comes from disputes that have note settled out. This is impacting my credit score as well as my balance on my card. I was given misleading information stating that they should not be there but then told conflicting information about my account. As a Software Engineer, I just want to point out, if you have had a previous account with Discover, do not open a new account with Discover. Getting to make your payment on the new account will be problematic, and Discover will refuse to correct the issue.1. Previous Discover account closed, 2. New account opened. 3. Balance Transfer made. 4. When logging into the app on my phone I was directed to the closed account and told no payment was due. 5. Received a late payment notice, had to call to customer support to allow me to log in on the new account, as there was an issue.6. Was told it shouldn't be a problem.7, A 30 day late payment note was filed on my account. 8. Contacted a supervisor, *********9. Supervisor advised to file a dispute with TransUnion to resolve. 10. Dispute with TransUnion came back with the same result. 11. Contacted a supervisor, ****. 12. Was told there was nothing that could be done about it. 13.Paid off the full balance on the account and closed it.Summary: A call to customer support was needed to make an account due to a software issue. Discover will not change the late payment even though the customer made good faith efforts to pay on the account.Desired resolution: Update to credit report to remove 30 day past due notice.Business Response

Discover bank is reporting a fraudulent debt to the credit bureaus that is causing me to suffer financially. I have appealed to the company multiple times and have also filed a police report. I have even offered to settle the fraudulent debt at 20% yet they refuse to reply to my offer. I would like for them to stop reporting this fake information.Business Response

When going over my statement from discover card i found out that they were not bringing down the balance of the cash advances i took from years ago when i needed extra cash. Even though i pay the minimum payment due every month they don't use any of that payment to bring down the cash advance balance and so they charging me a lot in interest every month. I talk to an associate at discover card and they told they don't lower the balance of the cash advance if you only pay the minimum balance. I looked at my statements from my other credit cards and found out that they do reduce the cash advance balance when make only making minimum payments. I asked the associate how much more over the minimum payment is needed to reduce the cash advance balance but after a while he said he didn't know. Maybe its written in somewhere in the cardmember agreement that they could do this but i don't think its fair that if i use the cash advance in the month and pay a bill the next month that some money should go toward the cash advance balance.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: After talking to a manager at discover card on 9-30-22 i was told it was just there policy that they will not apply any of the monthly minimum payments to the cash advance balance; the payment only goes to the balance with the lowest interest rate. If I use the cash advance one month and pay a bill the next month some of the payment should go to the cash advance payment of the recent month,.it just seems fair and logical. Going over my recent statement from discover I found out that they are also charging more and more each month on the interest on my cash advance balance. I haven't taken any cash advances for over a year and my statement from march 2022 shows an interest charge of $25.91 and every month they raised it till it was $35.86 for October 2022..
After talking to 2 managers they also still wouldn't let more how much over the minimum payment you pay each month goes directly to the cash advance balance.

Since my other credit cards don't rip me off on the cash advances interest I see that discover card unethical business practices is just there way of being as greedy as much as they can until someone goes after them with a class action suit.

This is absolutely the worst service Ive ever experienced with a card issuer. I provided my information to apply for the card. Including my phone number. Im issued the card with the provided information but myself or my authorized user cannot use the card because your system cannot verify my account with my number because its registered to my fiancs business. The worst start to a relationship with Discover. Now Im waiting for an email. That takes **** business days to direct me how to proceed.Business Response

I have received your notice dated September 6, 2022. The credit bureaus are not government agencies and reporting to them is 100% voluntary and not required by law. In the attached letter you blatantly stated that you will continue to report this adverse account to my consumer credit report. This account is closed. Closed accounts cannot continue to report on going payment history after the closed date. This is inaccurate, misleading and must be removed from my consumer credit report. This account was closed on April 22, 2022 and you have reported on going payment history as of September 25, 2022. I bought a pump to use on my statuary. It was purchased thru ********************. After installing the pump it did not work to the manufactures specification and would not give the lift that their website provided. I used their website to make an educated decision to the size of pump needed to the outcome I needed. After trying it . it did not work properly and give the lift of water as specified in their description of the pump. The seller refused the return and Discover Card will not stand with me on this and has chosen the to side with the seller. I have sent many substaining photos of my complaint including a photo of ************************** website show easy and fast returns.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because you and your company are a JOKE. I'm working to pay this card off and will go back to M/C where they value their customers unlike Discover Card. I have left appropriate comments about Discover card on many social outlets and not to my surprise, there are 1000's that feel the way I do. Once again, you also again know how I feel. On 5/2/22 I sent a letter to the *** of Discover Financial with instructions on how I would like to have my Discover IT account handled/paid. At the time the letter was sent, my account was in good standings and there has NEVER had a late payment on this account and still does not even though they unlawfully closed my account. I waited for a response but didnt get one. To the original letter sent. What I received was closure of my account on 6/5/22. I was confused especially since just a few days earlier, I received an email from Discover congratulating me on being such a great customer, and right before that ********************** increased my credit to $15,000, so to have my account closed with no explanation and no warning was distressing. This adverse action was done to me was unwarranted. Despite the closure of the account, I have continued to pay Discover every month. I started the administrative process, requesting that my account be reinstated and siting US code that Discover had been violated, still Discover would not reopen my account. I received a letter from Discover on 7/18/22, stating they had received previous letters addressing the identical issue and unless there was any new documentation to substantiate my claim, there answer is still the same to not reopen my account. The last letter that I received is dated 8/4/22, which was a response to a complaint I filed with the Consumer Financial ***************** Case# ******-9013563. This letter stated that they made a business decision to close my account. I extended my credit to Discover, and they have discriminated against me for making a request about my account. This letter came from the **************** of ******** Advocacy, but they did not advocate for me, I had been a customer since 2016 with an impeccable record with Discover bank, yet they were able to deny me as a consumer the right to extend my credit. I need my account to be reinstated/reopened due to the unlawful closure.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: As stated in my complaint, when I opened the account with Discover, there was an arbitration clause. I as a consumer never got my due process. I was discriminated against and my character is being defamed due to a simple request. Discover quotes the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, but refuses to follow the rule of the law. As per the arbitration clause, I am demanding arbitration. I will sent he letter the address that has been provided in the credit card agreement.Nothing that Discover has done has benefited the consumer and it seems that all government agencies put in place to assist consumer when they have been unlawfully received misleading, inaccurate and unfair practices again them have not been of any assistance.
