This business is clearly a scammer. Received a letter from them "attempting to collect a debt" at my new address just 3 weeks after moving. It was the first correspondence I received from them, or anyone else regarding the supposed debt. They claimed to have purchase the account from a credit union that I was once a member of. The checking account in question was closed in 2019, but they say the debt is from Jan of 2022. They refused to provide a date of the transaction that supposedly put the account negative. When I asked for details, they tried to get me to e-sign a form before they would provide it.One of the first pieces of mail I got at my new address that was not forwarded, won't provide details of the debt, wanted me to e-sign a form in order to get the "proof" of the debt: in my mind, that adds up to a scam.

Im not sure why this company called me because the representative was so rude and making assumptions about me I was never able to get the nature of his call. Because I refuse to verify my identity through my social or my birthdate year he got very irritated with me and started saying I was avoiding his company. Again I still have no clue who Im supposedly avoiding. I feel harassed and no one should be spoken to that way. This call was made on 11/22/2022 at 3:12 pm central time.
