I purchased windows for my home. When I started working from home, that is when I noticed the issue with the windows. It's not possible to open the window and close them no issues. When the windows are unlocked, the top portion of the windows slide down. It took months of phone calls to get someone out. I had to pay, and the problem is still not fixed. This is an issue with every window that was installed. When it rains, water comes in on the back windows. When you call and press the prompt for repair, you are put into a voicemail. I spent too much money for widows not to be able to open and close them.Business Response

I purchased windows and doors from Feldco on July 28th, 2023. The windows and patio door were installed on September 28th with the exception of my 5 pane Bow Window because it was damaged and we were informed that it would be 3 weeks before they could repair/replace it. This was acceptable because our front door had not been installed and both could be installed at the same time. (in October). When they installed our bay window they did not measure correctly and the window was short (picture attached). The installer told ************************* that they had cut into the wall and this was the reason that the trim no longer fit the window opening. The fact was that their "replacement" window was short in length and they remedied the situation (without informing us - the homeowners) by installing 2x4's and applying insulation to allow the window to properly fit the existing opening. I (******) had requested that Feldco pay for the trim to be replaced and was denied by ********************************* (General Manager ******). At this time, we request a $10,000.00 adjustment for the window as we no longer trust Feldco to do any further work on our home. Additionally, the Bow Window was finally installed, however, they installed a 4 panel bow window and not the contracted 5 pane window. Also, the installers informed me that the window did not fit on the existing overhang and that would have to be removed. This was told to me AFTER they cut the existing window out. The front of the house still needs to be sided because they took out this piece to put their 4 pane Bow window in. When I spoke with ********************************* he informed me that the contract stated that it was only a 4 pane window. I have included the sales contract that includes the specifications for my replacement as a 5 pane window. He had altered the paperwork and said that this was the contract. I have included a photograph of the 4 pane window as well as photos of the contract that includes the 5 pane window. Again, since we no longer have any trust that they will act in good faith and abide by the contract we request an adjustment of $14,000.00. Total amount we are requesting to be paid to homeowners is $26,000.00. This will also allow us to replace the inside trim and fix the siding and trim (color match will be quite difficult since siding is 20+ years old).Business Response

This was escalated to our Regional General Manager, who met with the customer at her home on 12/18/2023. It was confirmed that the original contract the customer signed was for a ****** bow window, not a 5-Lite, which is clearly labeled in the documents she attached. We offered to re-order the window slightly larger, but customer declined, as it wouldn't make much of a difference in the overall look of the window. We also offered to re-ordered as a 3 or 5 lite to try to achieve the look she was going for, which she declined as well. We did agree to order the correct size trim for the interior to make it look better. As far as the siding on the exterior, we have offered multiple solutions for this issue to the customer, but as of this writing we are still awaiting confirmation on which material she would like us to install. Once she commits to a material we will schedule to complete the work to finish the exterior look to the window.

I am rejecting this response because we are still trying to come to a successful solution to the issues related to the bow and bay window.

Feldco has offered multiple solutions to fix the issues that still exist. Feldco has made multiple attempts to continue discussion on which solution she prefers, but has been unable to reach her to discuss. She either does not answer our calls or when she does answer, says she will call us back and doesn't. While a solution has not yet been agreed upon, Feldco is attempting to reach her daily to come to an agreement, but she has been difficult to get a hold of.Customer Answer

Complaint: 21014003
I am rejecting this response because: First and foremost, I have been in contact with the business. I have counter-proposed solutions and each of my solutions have been rejected. Also, it states here that I had been offered that Feldco replace the bow and bay window. That is not truthful. They offered to replace the bay window or I could keep the current window which is narrower than it should have been to replace it and accept $2,500 payment. I was in agreement with the later suggestion. I have proposed replacing the bow window with a bow window that is the correct size as the current bow is again substantially smaller than the bow window that it replaced by either adding a center window - because each window is about 1.5 inches smaller than the window it replaced and each of the current windows is approx. 6 inches (4 x 1.5 = 6) or by keeping it a 4 panel and increasing the size of each window so that it is a replacement of what I had. Also, the remedies that they suggested for covering the front of my home - covering only the section under the window where the front of my home was removed - will substantially lower my property value and would look unsightly. I have suggested a number of remedies including using some extra siding that we have. The color is not a match - but close enough that some landscaping in front of the window would be a good solution and actually add to the property value. Another issue that I have had is that they will not put any of their proposals in writing whereas all of our proposed solutions are in writing. This has been an issue since the bow window came in damaged in September. They have not tried to contact me today nor yesterday and I am extremely frustrated because they will not put any of their proposals in writing and simply want me to talk to them and then they say they will put it in writing. I communicated that until I receive a proposal in writing, there really is nothing more to discuss.
Sincerely,

We had feldco put in a new patio door and it was the wrong size so the contractor had to do some adjusting to make it fit because that is what Feldco told them to do instead of getting ************** so now the door is not sealed correctly causing ice to build up on the outside it hasn't shut tight from the beginning we have been going back and forth with them ever since it was put in they always seem to have an excuse fir why it doesn't fit right other than the fact that it is the WRONG SIZE door.Business Response

I purchased a large triple pane window with argon gas for noise reduction purposes and this product has not fulfilled the expectations made to me. The quality has been subpar since the day of purchase. I paid $1,500 installed on 8-21-2023. I have asked for any sort of resolution process for customer satisfaction and have been offered nothing. I at the very least would like someone to investigate whether this is even the window which I paid for. I am willing to understand that errors happen and that this may not be the window which I ordered/paid for. But I am finding it unacceptable that the company is offering no fulfillment even though I have a warranty. I would like to be explained what my actual options are for customer fulfillment. I immediately let them know I was not satisfied. I have notified them more than 3 times and Feldco has not considered or offered any resolution.Business Response

I bought replacement windows, a door and a storm door from Feldco in February 2022.Over the holiday weekend, a latch broke on the storm door, keeping the window from being shut. The door is under a lifetime warranty with a 5 year labor warranty. There is also a clause stating that they can charge a "minimal" fee to cover trip costs for in-home services.Today they charged me $99 as their "minimal" fee.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me -- for this specific warranty event. The broader issue is that Feldco seems to think that a "minimal" service fee during the five year labor warranty could be $99. That's not a "minimal" service fee.

Feldco came out on April 26th 2023 to give us an estimate on a sliding glass door. We agreed on a price and I was required to put $3150 down on my credit card. I completed all the necessary paperwork with my homeowners association and was told my door was being manufactured. On August 30th my door was supposed to be installed. My father in law took the day off of work to wait on the door for us, which was to be installed between 7:30 - 9:30. When I checked up on him during my lunch break Feldco did not show up. I received no call nor voicemail. When I called Feldco they told me they left a voicemail on my husband's phone , which he did not receive. The door was not manufactured to the correct measurements and they assured me they would "put a rush on it". That rush was a November 14th install date, which was the time frame they gave me to begin with, not a special "rush" in my opinion. Today, November 14th Feldco was supposed to install my sliding door. After changing the installation time (7:30 - 8:30 when I called at 10:30 in the morning to 12 - 2 when they called back at 4:00) I was able to get my father in law to change I his plans again to help us. I received a call from him at 12:15 that the installers arrived and the door is incorrect yet again. At 12:25 Feldco called to let me know that they can not install my door because once again they have the wrong door. Feldco has had my money since April with the promise of a sliding glass door installed by the end of the summer. It is now mid November and I still have a balance on my credit card that I have been slowly paying off with interest for a door that is still not installed. I was notified that they would not give me a refund of my money since my contract was created in April. I would like to have the correct sliding glass door installed by Christmas without paying any more money or I would like my money returned with the interest that was due.Business Response

Transaction Date: 10-10-2023 $11,110 Paid in full for 6 windows installed The dispute is that we don't like the looks of the windows, and told them numerous times we hated the look even right after they started installing the 1st window. They said we signed a contract and we have to pay it even though we told them we didn't want the windows installed that way. They put 5" casing around the windows when they could have put 3" around the windows and still have warranty..Business Response

To this present day I am still picking up and finding shards of glass from my lawn and bushes and rocks. This is unsafe. This is dangerous. I was to trim my bushes and I fear I will hit a piece of glass that I don't know about and will be cut. This is unsafe and unacceptable. This is not what I paid for.Business Response

April, 26, 2023 I contracted with Feldco Windows, Siding & Doors in ********, ******** to purchase and install 1 front ************* door and 1 back entry & back storm door. The salesman came out, accessed the doors and provided a quote. I agreed to the price and made deposit on 4.26.2023. An installation appointment was made. The installation crew was in an accident the day before the installation. The appointment was canceled then later confirmed for the original installation of 6.20.2023. The crew arrived, carry out the installation task and left. Upon inspection of their work, I discovered several issues. I was unable to communicate with the installers because a language barrier. I immediately took **************** recording of the installed doors. I followed up with a call to Feldco to complain about the unsatisfactory service and installation of the doors. Feldco sent someone out on June 27th to inspect the doors. The tech ***** arrived and completed an inspection with documentation. His finds were the same as the ones I observed. Findings included frame of the doors are not flush against the walls, visible nail holes, caulk smeared around various areas on the doors, storm doors are not latching/closing without assistance, doors have to be pushed/pulled for locks to catch, wood trim does not cover the removal of the old trim, sharp edges along the creased of the storm doors, *********************** of front door bell, back door **** received sloppy caulk, Caulk around the door frame appears to be dripping even though it has dried. I was assured there would be follow up regarding any issues and repairs to the front & back doors. A senior tech came out and did a patch job to some of the areas that did not improve the appearance of the doors. The functionality is not appropriate for brand new doors. I have to keep the storm door locked to ensure a gust of wind does not ripe it off its hinges. Lock has been placed to close the door frame and pinches my fingers.Business Response
