After contacting Feldco we were put in touch with ************************* at Feldco in ********** next to ******. We ****** and I ************************* met with ************************* in our home on June 14 or 15 2023. ************************* had told us about the roofing and windows products and showed us, it was the promise professional installation with properly trained people with roofing experience. ************************* said replacement of plywood and 2X4s or what other expense there would be in the price. No one knew the age on the roof other than it was in need of complete replacement. I qualify for financing on the roof at around $16,000 with payments at $218 monthly. We had told ****** that it would take us about a week to get the $1100 for our down payment. We thought we were getting a good deal at the time with a big company like Feldco nationwide they would be experienced roofers and we would be able to get our roof done right. We paid our down payment and signed the paperwork, we were so excited to be able to get a new roof. We just thought that they were busy with other projects and just had to wait our turn. It was this past Tuesday August 15 around 10 am four or five people showed up saying they were here to do my roof. A truck had dropped off some supplies on Monday and Tuesday morning, but my husband ****** and I thought where was all the plywood and boards if needed? But weren't sure what was going on. Some of the workers couldn't speak english but didn't think anything of it at the time. Roofing was taken off first day and while I was gone to town and got back workers were working on roof. Workers said they would be back tomorrow that didn't happen. When my husband got home and seen the bad work We got rain Wednesday night. Rain on Thursday also. Around 10 am two guys drove in a big fancy truck sayings they were here to finish roof in the rain. I pointed out all the mistakes that were made on Tuesday and wanted them fixed. One worker could speak some english.

You tilt the sash in to clean the glass. Sometimes the alignment gets off and the window is very hard to close. I called up to be advised on correcting this, but was unable to do so even with the directions given. Only other option is to pay $129 to have someone come out to fix it. When a window gets out of whack this easily, I should not have to be charged to have it adjusted...especially as I am retired and don't have money to throw around.

On June 8th of 2023 we had Feldco come out to replace our roof. We were satisfied with the cost and the explanation of services given by the representative who came out to give us a bid. First day here the crew proceeded to trample my entire garden in the front of the house. I knew there would be some kinds of issues with our landscaping but it was completely demolished. They tore 5 of the screens for our windows with ladders and equipment. They tore the gutter off the house on 1 side of the house. They didn't use guards for the ladders and they dented every single one of our gutters. There was debris left in all the gutters and when it rained we had over 30 nails come out of the downspouts. We spent 2 days cleaning up nails and pieces of shingles and plastic backing for the shingles and underlayment. They assured us that the satellite dish would be handled with care and put back exactly where they removed it. Sadly they took the dish off the mounting and left it hanging off the side of the roof for 7 hours. When they put it back it was not in the correct position to receive our satellite signal so we had to pay $100 for a service call to have it recalibrated and put back. We still have pieces of underlayment hanging off the house that was supposed to be taken care of immediately, that was 3 weeks ago. We are totally disgusted with the customer service representative who keeps promising to have these issues resolved was here 2 times and most of these issues are not resolved. Do yourself a favor and get a local company to do the job and not these big companies because they don't care about getting it done to your satisfaction. We were going to have them do our windows but that is not going to happen because of the poor workmanship and customer service.

The General Manager has reached out to the customer multiple times since the complaint was filed. Feldco has solutions to propose to the customer to make things right, but the customer has not answered the phone or returned the calls of the General Manager. Via email, they scheduled a time to talk on Friday 7/28 after 2pm. Feldco called multiple times, but there was again no answer and no return call. Feldco has every intention of rectifying the unfortunate situation the customer is in, but the customer has not been responsive to our attempts.

Hi,My name is ***************************** and am a Personal Assistant to ***************************** who resides at *********************************************************On Thursday July 6th, 2023 my boss ***** was out of town and Feldco Windows and Doors came to her residence to install a sliding door. When they were finished they asked me to sign off so they could leave so I did.I mean the door looked fine. However, upon sending a picture to my boss she said she specifically had told Feldco in writing, to make note that the door was to slide open "left to right"This did not happen, and I did not even think about that, as I'm a lefty. They installed the door to slide open "right to left"knowing in her contract notes it was to open "left to right"!She has contacted Feldco and they said they would do nothing unless she wanted to pay for a new door! She has asked them to send her a copy of her contract, which she has never received, as this shows her notes on the way the door is to open. They have been nothing but very rude and are in the wrong.I wish I had known from my boss on the way the door was to open but she was not worried, as it is in her contract that she signed. She is still waiting for Feldco to send her the copy of her contract, which was supposed to have been delivered at installation.I'm thinking that was the contractI signed off on and they took it so I would not see their mistake.I hope you can help us!My phone is ************ and my boss ***************************** number is *************************************************@gmail.com

I was trying to get in touch with Feldco for at least 3 mo.. No one would return my call. Our storm door is under warranty. All I wanted was a replacement handle sent to me even if it meant the warranty would be cancelled. They want $129 to come out and a $60 charge for something else. I told them we could not afford it. Just send us the handle and we would put in on ourselves. Today they finally got back to me and told me the above and If I wanted a door handle it would be $224.00. I can get a whole new door for that price. They are gauging us. We should not be charged for a handle when it under warranty.

On May 25 feldco was out to quote windows to be replaced on my house. I told them I wanted nail ****** mount windows multiple times every time with the sales man saying that is install a. Also spoke about possibly rotted sile plates as some of the windows had known rot and was assured they would replace those plates as part of install. While measuring I questioned his measurement method and he assured me the final measurements would be in a week these were rough measurements. Week later they measure the windows for final fit. And they measurement the same way assuring me it was install a. As the assumtion from the sales man that install a was a nail ****** window. As other work was continued on the house I verified the measurements with the windows and emailed them saying the messurments are off for ****** mount windows on the openings and there were no jabs in the windows. I was reasured they have 30 years of experience and know what they are doing by the salesman. They come to install the windows and the windows are pocket windows. Speaking with the installer he goes over how he would make the windows go into the existing spot. He also sees the rot that would of been left and states there is nothing he can do to really fix that as it would break the seal on the ******. The "General manager" calls and says we only sell pocket windows and that no resolution would be identified that day and he would call me back later that day. After no call I contact feldco looking for follow up am told he will call Monday 6/19. Monday comes and goes and I email asking for his information on Tuesday 6/20. Finally I get a call 6/21 with the statement we would love to install these windows for you. When I cover why they are not what is needed the response is your under contract for 50% the cost of making the windows. The company still has the windows, did not install them, and wants me to cover 50% of the **** cost of windows and install.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/28/2023

The installation method Feldco uses is explained at the point of sale and measure. Nail fin installation was never outlined at that time. While there was obviously a misunderstanding, Feldco's General Manager offered to order the windows and install them in the method the customer had requested at no additional cost to the customer. The customer declined ********************'s offer and stated they already had someone else replace the windows. This was in less than a week after the first installation attempt did not go as planned. Per the consumer's rights document the customer attached, per *********** Right to Cure law, the contractor is allowed to fix any issues before action can be taken by the customer. The customer has not allowed ******************** to correct the misunderstanding for him and has instead cancelled his contract. Per the terms and conditions the customer attached to his complaint, if the customer chooses to cancel their contract after the product has been manufactured, the cancellation fee is 50% of the contract, meaning in this case, the customer would be due no refund. If customer would like ******************** to fulfill the order instead of paying the cancellation fee, we are still willing to work it out.

I am rejecting this response because: during the conversation the day of installation the general manager stated they do not do ****** windows. Given the project time there was no other option but to change the route of the windows. Accompany this without any further communication for 5 days.  The turn time was also not acceptable to maintain project time frames required. The owe of 50% cost with zero material based on false pretenses and never informing me ****** windows were not an option only they would be installation a. The contract was signed under false sales pretenses as i explicitly  requested ****** mount from the sales.  It was clear the 4 times I stated ****** mount windows and the follow up email to the sizes being wrong for ****** mount windows never addressing the fact they were not going to be ****** mounts.

      Sincerely,

      *************************

      Business Response

Feldco does not sell or install flanged style windows. We install replacement windows. Due to the misunderstanding, Feldco made special arrangements to manufacture their window with a ****** to satisfy the customer's request. ******************** can either fulfill the contract by installing the windows with the ****** per the customer's request or accept the customer's cancellation of the contract for the cancellation fee outlined in the terms and conditions. Feldco is attempting to go above and beyond what is written in the contract and what they normally do to fulfill our end of the contract. Custom windows take more than 5 days to manufacture. So if the customer had other ********************** installed prior to the General Manager offering the ****** installation option, it would indicate that the customer contracted with and ordered ********************** from a different company well before Feldco came out to install, meaning he had no intention of fulfilling his end of the agreement.

      Complaint: 20215153

I am rejecting this response because:

The windows were repalced with standard sized windows because the Rough outs are all standard sizes.  ******** standard size windows to be installed and purchased without a wait.  so i didn't contract with another company before i was informed that windows i needed to fix the problems the windows were required for would not be avalible through feldco.  the act of offering them a week later after actions were taken based on information provided from Feldco's general manager.  Friday i was informed Feldco does not do ****** windows,  and the reason i needed windows and what was discussed with the sales guy for the need for windows would not be fixed with the replacement windows.  This was a 10am phone call.  I was informed i would get a phone call back before end of day becuase the ** was "busy on another job". I did not recieve a phone call back by end of day.  follow up work was scheduled for monday and this required a limited time frame to cordinate with other options.  the windows were then purchased friday night and installed sat and sun by myself. I followed up trying to get in touch with the ** every business day following including reaching out to the sales man i still had contact information with.  The follow up call was again the same story we do not do nail ****** windows and that was never part of the agreed package.  After that phone call i recieved a return phone call the next day offering ****** mount windows.  When i informed them the windows had already been repalced.

I continue to not agree with the solution that i pay **** for zero product and Zero service.  you did not install the windows so there was not installation paid.  I am not willing to pay for the windows and allow you to resell them as the rough outs are standad and the windows that were installed are by a large national chain there will be future installs when these windows can be sold by feldco to another customer who would again pay full price.  I recieved no service and no product what am paying **** for. along with the expidite fee due to project timing that feldco was not able to deliver the product required in that time frame as the replacement pocket windows would not of fixed what was request and this was never clarified even when I questioned Feldco about the dimenssions.

      Sincerely,

      *************************

On Thursday 6/8 I had a sales person come to my home. I was told that if I signed the contract I would have 3 days to cancel. I signed the contract and was charged $2,885. In June if 2022, my wife and I purchased windows from Feldco. We understood, or assumed, that we were purchasing with an interest free "deal". As it turns out, after making 12 on-time payments, we received a statement showing that ours was a interest deferred loan, not an interest-free loan. Therefore, ***** Fargo is now going to charge ** $660.42 for accrued interest for the 12 month period. I spoke with the salesman who explained that it was an (interest deferred) loan, and not an (interest free) loan. He also said that he is always very explicit with customers in explaining the terms of the loans they provide through ***** Fargo. He did not explain anything, and just filled out the paper work for an (interest deferred) loan. My guess is that this sort of thing goes on all of the time, and many customers are taken advantage of this sort of practice. The salesman told me, in our phone conversation, that interest free loans have not been offered by any business for the past 10 years. I don't believe that to be true, and I have made many purchases with (interest free) offers. I guess it's "shame on me" for not being more suspect up front. I was taken advantage of, as I'm sure many others have been.I was very pleased with the service (windows had to be re-made three times due to lack of installer experience, mismeasurement, etc., but the company, finally, installed the windows properly.

Customer had their sales consultation on March 3, 2022 and signed the contract with ** on March 8, 2022. Initial installation was completed April 20, 2022. Attached is Feldco's advertised promotion from March of 2022. This promotion and its disclaimer would have been in print, internet, and on TV. Reps typically also show it to customers in the house during the consultation when they have a copy of it. The disclaimer at the bottom clearly states that "interest accrues during a 12 month promotional period but all interest is waived if the purchase amount is paid before the expiration of the promotional period." I have also attached a copy of the customer's finance agreement they signed electronically with ***** Fargo at the point of sale and received copies of as well. The second sentence in the card holder terms reads "No Interest if Paid in Full within 12 Months with regular monthly payments. If the purchase balance is not paid in full within 12 months, interest will be charged to your account from the purchase date at a rate of *****%." The promotional message would have also been on their monthly statements they received. Clearly there was a misunderstanding on the customers end, but Feldco and ***** Fargo have done everything they could to make sure the terms of the finance promotion were clear at the point of sale.

Feldco came in to quote replacing 3 windows and a sliding door. The sales person represented that the windows were an exact 1 for 1 replacement for what was already there so that the windows would match the existing since not all windows were being replaced. The ************ came out and informed ** the color would be different and the windows themselves would be 3 narrower. We then contacted the sales representative to confirm what we were getting. He confirmed that the measure guy was correct and the windows would be different. We then tried to cancel and the sales said since it was more than 3 days since the original contract (which had been taken up between signing contract and measure guy coming out) we couldnt. We just want to cancel the job, which isnt done and isnt even scheduled for another 6 weeks meaning the company hasnt even bought supplies yet.

I purchased a new front entry door on 10/26/2021 that got installed in the Fall of 2022. The door was installed incorrectly causing it to rub against the frame when it operates. I called to get the door serviced in October. I explained the issue with the door rubbing on the frame which was causing the door to be damaged. My texts and calls were ignored for about a month. In mid November they did call me to set up the install for the second door I purchased, still ignoring my service issue. I was out of state and asked that the door be serviced first so that I could be back in ******** for the installation of my second door. The Ops Specialist stated that they would have somebody service the door when we install the second door. I explained I wanted the door serviced first since I was out of state and didnt want the damage to continue on the original door. This went back and forth for around a month, with them refusing to set up the service. In December they finally sent me a message asking if I wanted to set up the service. By then I had already contacted the technician directly, bypassing **** (*****************) and April **** Specialist), and had the door serviced. At this point though, because of the length of time where the door was rubbing the frame, the finished was now damaged. At this point we went back numerous times about what they were going to do in order to address the damage. They never would address the damage UNTIL I had the second door installed. The fix they suggested was touch up paint to my brand new door, which was damaged because of the length of time it took them to service it This has gone on long enough that they eventually sent a demand letter for me to install the second door. I spoke to *************************** in March 2023 when I received the letter. I explained the situation and she mentioned she was not aware of any of this. She said she would call back, I never heard from her. I received a second letter, called, and still no response.

There are two separate issues and contracts here. The first contract was completed and paid in full by the customer. It needed service to correct how the door was operating. This adjustment to make it operate properly was minor since we already needed to come out to install her second contract, it would have been preferred to do so at the same to as the new contract installation to be efficient with everyone's time. Customer wanted to be home for the installation, but did not care about being home for the service. We finally obliged and went to complete the service on the door so it operates properly now. Even though we fixed the operation of the door as requested, customer has still refused install of the new door contract. The door itself that was serviced was not damaged, but the frame has some very minor cosmetic issues due to the paint being chipped off the wood (photo attached). Feldco passes through the door manufacturer's warranty and the manufacturer recommendation for this is touch up paint. Because it is small spots of wood that has the paint chipped and not the baked on finish of the door slab it would not look or function any different with touch paint or a new frame being ordered. In the case of the customer's contract to be installed, per the terms and conditions of the contract, customer is accept installation of the product within 2 weeks of Feldco receiving the door from the manufacturer and pay the balance upon completion of the installation. The new door was received by Feldco in August of 2022 and customer has refused install on multiple occasions since then. While Feldco tried to work around the customer's schedule for an extended period of time, the customer is now considered to be in breach of contract. Until that contract is fulfilled, Feldco will not be returning to the customer's home. ******************** has offered to fix the issue with the existing door per the manufacturer's warranty and offered other compromises to the customer, which have yet to be accepted. ******************** is attempting to abide by the warranty and contract they have for this customer's products, but customer is not cooperating in getting it any of it done.
