I am at 28 straight days of not having my paper delivered to my mailbox. I've communicated multiple times with the Tribune "customer service" department, unfortunately their customer service is located in ***************, and I get little to no response, other than the automated "we're sorry" e-mail with no further response or resolution. My problem is, I've paid for a service, that includes delivery of a physical newspaper. They're apology e-mails say my account has been credited, but they haven't explained what that means. Nothing is showing up on my credit card, so I'm assuming that means they are extending their horrible service. My account has also been switched to "inactive," which means I can't even use the app to make a complaint. I have no interest in using their on-line newspaper, but that seems to be their best solution for something so simple as getting my paper in my mailbox. It IS being delivered, to my neighbor, on his driveway, that is located on my street, but his physical address is on the neighboring street, so even their s**** up....is screwed up! It's not my neighbor's job to deliver my paper and I shouldn't have to walk down the street, every day to fetch the paper. What kind of idiots work in this organization who can't communicate with the contractor, tell them they are delivering to an incorrect address, and they need to drive 100 feet further to a well-marked address on the mailbox and place the paper in the slot? As a businessperson, I've seen poor customer service, but nothing rises to the level of this nearly defunct organization. I've reached out and communicated with, a couple of times, a Tribune Journalist who has tried to see what he could get done. Nothing has changed. Tribune, don't apologize, just do your job.

My review isn't of the Tribune newspaper, but their affiliation with Inside Shopper. Over the past year and a half I have tried - unsuccessfully - through multiple emails and phone calls to remove my address from their distribution list. Each time I've called or emailed I was assured that my name would be taken off of the list. However, every Wednesday I continue to receive this little red bundle of junk. Either the distributor does not have a 'do not deliver list', or the person delivering it either does not look at the list, or does not care. I have close to two dozen of these that I've been keeping that I will waste my time and money to ship back to the Tribune.

My concern is related to a digital subscription. I used the online feature to manage the account online and cancelled the subscription in November 2023 (11/8/23) and December 2023 (when I saw my credit card had been charged again). I have screenshots of the cancellations. Yesterday, I noticed my credit card has been charged for January ****. I called today. Supposedly, the January charge has been cancelled and the subscription was cancelled (again) by the representative. I spoke to a representative and a supervisor (?). There was no logical response to the fact that I have screenshots of the cancellation(s). I also wanted a refund of the December payment. There is a sigificant problem if they cannot see the online cancellation. It is a more significant problem to disregard the customer's concern and proof of cancellation. I will never subscribe to the Tribune again. The best product isn't worth the aggravation of a sub-standard customer service system. The ********************** is not the only news source. The Chicago Tribune and its customer service departments should act as if they are aware of that fact. Disrespecting customers (and potential customers) then offering a special low rate is not a viable business or marketing plan.

Similar feedback as everyone else. Long time paper copy subscriber. Rates started changing unpredictably with little advanced notice. Unlike other subscriptions I have, it is impossible to see your current billing rate online; we receive advance notice via a post card, but typically this arrive just a few days before the bill is due. Most recent bill was a mind-blowing $182 for 8 weeks, or $3.25/day per paper. When I call in to negotiate a lower rate, there is no written confirmation of what was changed or for how long the updated rate is good for. The lack of transparency is shocking.

I am strongly considering cancelling my subscription. The price has increased 3 times in the last year by 184%. I have not been able to find where these increases are documented nor can I find where the rates are published. Further, the service quality has decreased. Over the last year on numerous occasions, I have requested a new paper be delivered to replace a damaged one. Of those times, only once did a new paper arrive the same day. Most of the time the new paper was delivered the next day. Once a new paper was never delivered.

Very disappointed with Chicago Tribune billing procedures. I only subscribe to the digital edition, and has increased to a ridiculous $34.00 a month. This is an unbelievably high cost for digital only. Customer service by phone useless!

I used to get the food ads every Monday. Two months ago it stopped. ALL MY NEIGHBORS get the ads. And they DO NOT HAVE ON ONLINE SUBSCRIPTION NOR A HARD COPY DELIVERED.. I have called customer service live person line and have spoken to some Pacific Islander with VERY and I mean poor English skills. The third time this employee of the Trib told me because I have an e subscription I not *********** the food advertisements. Yet 3 of my neighbors who have NO subscriptions what ever receive these ads delivered to their driveways. So after 43 years I'm bailing on this outfit.

I filed a complaint with the Chicago Tribune on 10/23/2023 regarding the amount of money my 86 year old father has been charged for his subscription. He was charged $754.92 for 10 months in 2021, $1,248.44 for 10 months in 2022 and $951.32 so far for 6 months in 2023. Per the Chicago Tribune website, the annual rate is $155.48 for 12 months. I have requested a refund to my father's credit card in the amount of $2,488 and have patiently waited for them to respond. I have an email from ***************************************** of the Chicago Tribune *********************** dated 10/27/23 requesting ***** business days to review my request. I've sent emails to ***************************************** dated 11/18/23 and 11/29/23 requesting an update on my complaint. Both emails generated a response saying, "Thank you for contacting the Chicago Tribune. Please expect a response from us within 72 hours." I've not had any responses to my 11/18 or 11/29 emails, thus I'm filing this complaint. I think the Chicago Tribune is taking advantage of elderly people who are not well versed on the internet as they only offer subscriptions that automatically renew every 2 months. The two month rate charged increased from $112 in 2021 to $159.92 every two months for the first 6 months in 2022 to $231.92 every two months for the 2nd 6 months in 2022 and then to $244.00 every two months in 2023. Reading the other complaints filed with the BBB, I know this situation is not unique to my father. It is concerning that a Chicago newspaper would take such advantage of their customers. My dad has been a loyal subscriber since ****. I would appreciate your help in getting the refund posted to his credit card.
