Given all these 1-star reviews with the word "SCAM", I think there is some validity to all these complaints. Read on..I rented from *************** airport and all went well, until I returned the vehicle and saw an unknown charge for $150 listed simply as "rate charge". Of course, as with probably many other customers, I didn't have time to deal with it on the spot as I needed to catch my flight. When I returned home, I called about this charge (a few days later) and I was told that it was for stains on the upholstery. I couldn't believe my ears - what?! Yes, there were some stains on it when I received the vehicle but hey, it's a rental and this is quite typical in the car rental industry. Furthermore, stains are NEVER flagged by any of the big players in this space - it's external damage that one has to worry about. I explained that I was not the cause of that stain but of course, I had no proof of that after I first drove off their lot. The section on the form that I signed off on reads "damage" and the seats were not damaged (as in "torn"). In my opinion, this is just another revenue generator for Ace. I am almost certain that every customer who rents that one vehicle will get hit this bogus cleaning fee - that's the ***** $150 per rental in perpetuity. NEVER AGAIN.ACE Rent A Car

The manger offered me no type of resolution for the incompetency of his employee and just continued to yell and state that his employees can cancel your reservation at any point without your approval and create a new reservation for you. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. Its sketchy, the people are just scamming you. Its my fault for not seeing all these reviews. If anyone from corporate sees this, please reach out to me.ACE Rent A Car

Total Scammers. When I arrived in ********* they called my cell phone and told me that my reserved car was not available and I would be downgraded to an economy car if they had any cars left when I arrived. I stated it was unacceptable. The *** rented would accommodate my passengers and luggage. They placed me on hold and never picker back up. Then when I called back from a different phone they told me I had no reservation. Stranding me at airport. When you leave revues for them, they will try to make you look like you are lying. I will be posting to every site I can to warn about this rental company. With photos of them calling me. Why would they be calling me if I had no reservation?Save your self the headaches and risks of being stuck having to pay higher prices at rental counters.Ill Assume the rude woman that we dealt with is an owner or manager as I know I would certainly terminate anyone who treated my customers in the manner she did.ACE Rent A Car

On Monday the 4th of September, upon my returning the rental vehicle I attempted to speak with ****** in regards to my dispute over rental charges. My dispute was being up-charged for something I had already paid for. I used Hotwire to secure a ***** Tahoe through your company. Upon arrival on the 1st of September, I was advised that they dont carry or have any of those, but has similar, I asked why when thats what Ive already paid for it, therefore why was I going to be given something that would not fit my family of five, I was being forced to upgrade. Once I got to our destination I went back through my emails, and theres a picture of a ***** Tahoe, not a Jeep (as I was told this would be similar). I was told I would have to take a mini van in order to seat my family, this would be something similar, because of the seating for at least five, therefore I dont understand why was I charged extra, ****** agreed that there should not have been an extra charge. When I asked to speak to a manager, there wasnt anyone available. Also the prepay for fuel, I brought the vehicle back with a half of tank of fuel not a quarter. Please dont tell that this company takes advantage of people just to make an extra dollar or two. I would like a full refund, of the extra I paid over for fuel and the up charge. ThankACE Rent A Car

When the reservation was made, it was for a full sized SUV ****** Tahoe or similar) with capacity to fit 5 adults. All of our locations are required to provide a car that will fit the same number of people. It looks like the car that we originally had attached to your reservation was a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, which is another full sized SUV with capacity to fit 5 adults. Rental rates are determined by several factors including car type and class, which is why there is a difference in rate between the two car types. After looking into the notes of your reservation, it looks like the location manager is willing to refund you for half of the cost of the upgrade, which amounts to $69.72. This amount was refunded yesterday and should become available to you within 5 business days. Regarding prepaid fuel, I am seeing in our notes that the car was returned with a 1/4 tank of gas. If you have documentation to show that it was returned at 1/2 tank, I would be happy to review that and look into the issue further. If you have any additional questions or if there is anything else that I can assist with, please do not hesitate to reach out. I had a reservation to go out of state because of an urgent family situation. When I arrived to the counter, I met with a very unfriendly woman. She asked for my car insurance proof which unfortunately I did not have. I then realized I did not have my cell phone with me and was stuck at the airport without a rental car or a way to call home to get a ride back home. I asked her if she could help me with using her phone, or the agency phone that was sitting on the desk and she wouldnt help. I said it doesnt seem like you care that I am literally stranded here with no way to leave without my cell phone or a way to call home for me to get my cell phone or my proof of insurance and her response was no I dont care. This is not my problem. I then asked her to call the corporate office to speak to management there to see if they could help they werent helpful either but at least less rude than she was. I set the phone down when I was done with the call and I said this is the worst customer service Ive ever dealt with and she said I am not renting a car to you Im canceling your reservation. She left me literally stranded at the airport until I ran into a nice gentleman who could help me get a phone call to my roommate to bring me my phone and I had a nicer and cheaper car rental situation. I will never run with them again. it was a $550 rental that that company lost and I intend on letting everybody know to avoid Ace, it was very disturbing for a woman to leave another woman stranded without any assistance or willingness to help. Beware of this rental car company. They are ************* They called me after four days of dropping off the car that it has damages. They sent me the pictures of the car which I didnt even rented. They sent pictures which they have saved in past for damaged vehicle. I am sure they have sent same pictures of windshield and wheel rims to other customers to get money from them. They emailed me those pictures and charged $2300 on my credit card. Its good- I had taken pictures and videos of the vehicle when I dropped off. I just read past reviews of other customer and their claim was the ************************ Just pay more for rental company but rent from reputed national brand.ACE Rent A Car

I went to ********** and rented for 4 days paid fully on booking.com $205 believing that I got a great deal on the wild card. I book a month prior to my pick up. The details said I was guaranteed a 2/4 door 5 seat car.When I went to check in the virtual, on iPad, person who I was speaking to said that they were no more cars available only a van. I told him that I was expecting a car he said that they reserved all the cars and was only able to supply me a van. I was traveling with my son only so I was frustrated. The person who was physically there at the counter saw that I was upset about getting a van. He whispered to me to go ahead an agreed to the van with the virtual person and he will give me a car. So I sign off to the van. When I got the keys to the car he handed me the receipt and I saw that the receipt said 89 dollars extra I ask him and he said not to worry about it. I got a regular midsize car as what I paid for. But now have a bill for extra 89 dollars when I had already paid and agreed with my price on booking .com. I was scammed by *** and feel like what they did to me was very deceiving. Worst service. I would like my money back. I was lied to. I no longer feel comfortable booking on booking.com because of this. Also this mess up my trip. It was my first time in ********** and I was so upset and still is with this unbelievable experience. I have reviewed your account and while I do understand the frustration with the additional charge, you had reserved our dealer's choice rental which is any vehicle on the lot that the location has set aside for these particular rentals (minivan, pickup truck, etc). Anything outside of what is offered is an upgrade charge, this is due to the dealer's choice being the cheapest option as you are not informed of what type of vehicle you are to receive. I hope you will allow ACE to assist you again in the future.

Yesterday I rented a car from you at the ******* Airport. I drove to *********, ** and it broke down as soon as I got into the city limits. I called customer service several times. They were able to send a tow truck to me. They towed the car and it's currently at the tow yard. The customer service tried several times to reach someone at the main office in *******. Nobody answered the phone or got back in contact with me. They said they sent several emails, but nothing happened and nobody returned my call. I have a flight leaving out of ******* today. I was going to use the rental car to drive back but I no longer have one. I now have to rent another car and pay for it.ACE Rent A Car

This place is an absolute scam!Upon arrival, they had given our car away to someone else and insisted on upselling us. We had paid $230 in full and for the insurance through Booking.com. They then insisted that we needed to pay another $420-$619. The numbers kept varying and when called out on this, they said they could offer a discount but first needed to write a 5 star ****** review. In the end, we walked out without a car and had to find alternative transport from their inconvenient location.ACE Rent A Car

I have reviewed your account and do see that the location offered multiple vehicles for no upgrade cost that were of higher value than the vehicle reserved. Regarding the insurance, I do not show any insurance on your reservation. We do require that proof of full coverage be provided to the agent upon pick up of the vehicle, if no proof is shown we do require the customer to purchase insurance from us. I do understand the frustration in the increase of cost and hope you will allow ACE to assist you again in the future.
