      I would not recommend Ace rental cars to anyone travelling to *****, especially with the rental agency at the International Airport (i.e., MIA ********************** Center).1) The agent repeatedly said he would not allow us to rent a car without taking *** ********************************** stating that it was a requirement. A quick ****** search would show you that cars in ******* all have *************************** coverage and that *** is optional (it actually said this explicitly in the contract that we received from Ace at the end of our rental). In addition, the *** costs an additional $20/day which is the most expensive Ive seen for a rental car so far (We regularly rent cars throughout the US). When pressed, he said it was company policy and that each franchise has its own policies. The agent lied to us as the contract clearly states that *** insurance is optional.2) The agent also effectively refused to rent us a car without purchasing an all-inclusive toll package for $60. We said we had our own toll transponder and would not need to rent one, but he insisted that Ace cars had no way to work with customers toll transponders and that would lead to double charges (including fees from the rental car company for having to process these toll charges). According to him we had two options: avoid all toll roads in ***** (nearly impossible) or take his toll package. We had no choice but to take it, but once we picked up the car and checked online how it worked for other car renters, we understood that we could have used our own and that the agent misguided us again.At the end of the check in process, when we asked how they could effectively require us to add $212 on top of a $155 reservation, the agent's response was, "How do you think we make money?" This was highly unprofessional and fraudulent. We thought we had to share that experience for other customers. Dont rent from this company.

      ***********************, The terms and conditions on the *** website and the "rules and restrictions" tab on the third party websites advise the following about the Liability coverage - "At the time of pickup, the customer must present a valid drivers license, proof of insurance and must present a credit card in the renters name for the required rental deposit. Proof of FULL INSURANCE COVERAGE that will transfer to the rental vehicle must be presented at the time of pick up. Otherwise you must purchase collision coverage and supplemental liability insurance at the rental counter." Full coverage means liability and collision coverage. Toll passes are an optional item. At this location have toll passes automatically connected the each license plate on each vehicle. It cannot be removed in order for the customer to add their own. Every car ********************** company is different and that is how the toll pass works and most of the our ******* locations. If you were to have gone through a toll without the toll pass you would have had to pay for the toll fee as well as an administrative fee for each toll as well.       I rented a car from ace to visit my mother in *********. During my visit, the day before I return, we see a big storm is on the horizon and I call to see if i can extend my rental so I don't have to drive thru a storm. The manager answers the phone and quotes me $100 for one day on a car I originally rented for $40 a day. I was told to call early to keep the rate the same. He says he just punched in the change and that was the quote the software gave. I decline. My mother insists that I not drive thru the mountains during a storm so I call back and a desk attendant informs me that I was "pinged" in ********* and the rental was only valid in **************. Mind you, ***** told me at the desk. The manager didn't mention it when I called that morning either. I listen and let her know that ***** told me. She extended the rental for $60, charges my card. I drive the car back and go in to finish the return. She calls her manager about the depositusually returned in 7 days, they decide to do a "manager's hold". When I ask how long they will hold my $200, she says she doesn't know. Its not cool to hold people responsible for things you don't mention then hold their finances indefinitely . I want reasonable resolution

      Hello, In the Terms and Conditions it does state that the geographical restrictions are that the vehicle must stay within ********** and North and ************** and the **************** only and that the fee for going outside the area is a fee of $300.. The Terms and Conditions on the *** website and the "Rules and Restrictions" tab on the Priceline website does state this information. As far as the rate of extending your reservation is concerned when you confirm your reservation that rate is locked in for those dates. If you extend the reservation or modify the reservations the rates can change and you can be charged what the current rates are for the vehicle that you rented. We have replied to you via email and our ************* team is looking into your deposit hold. Once we have more information we will respond to you via email as discussed in the email. Thank you

      I wish I could give 5 negative star on this scam company. They don't even show the details and forced to sign without seeing a contract. tons of unknown fees! I can't believe this company still run the business like this

      Do not EVER rent from ACE Rental Cars!The *********** Airport ACE Rental Car company is the most unprofessional car rental company weve ever rented from for so many reasons -- We specified a ****** Rav 4 or something similar & thats what Booking.com charged us for. After waiting a long time to get our car they gave ** a Dodge Durango, a 7 person gas guzzler. There are only 2 of us and we only drive fuel efficient cars. We asked for a different car to meet our specifications and they did not have anything. They said we didnt have to take the car, but we needed a car & had no other choice. - We waited in line for 1/2 hour to meet with an agent in their shabby and bleak rental office. None of the 3 counter agents were able to talk directly to ******* were told to talk into the screen to a remote agent who was not very friendly or helpful. When he asked us if we wanted the collision and theft coverage which they require we told him we had purchased it through booking.com & he said that was a third party & if we had an accident we would have to take it up with them. Then he made us sign ***************** insurance waivers. - They dont answer their phone. We had questions before picking up the car about their insurance policies & also about dropping our car off at a different location in LA. Were unable to get answers. -Instructions for getting to the rental office were not clear on their site. The shuttle from *** to the rental depot was not the one listed & then when we finally got to the car rental depot we had to wait awhile for a very shabby van to take us to Ace. This rental car agency is as bad as they get! We were very surprised that Booking.com would use them. Do not rent from them!

      Hello, typically with any car rental company if the vehicle that you book is not available the agent will provide you a vehicle in a higher category as a free upgrade. This is what they did at ***. For insurance the location requires that you provide proof that you have your own liability and collision coverage. This information can be found in the *** Terms and Conditions as well as all third-party websites under the "Rules and Restrictions" tab. If you do not have proof of that then it is required that you purchase it at the rental counter. If you have further questions, please let us know and please provide the name on the reservation and the dates the reservation was for. Thank you.

      I'm another victim of Ace Rent A Car. I rented a car from Ace in ********** **********. I put a $300.00 deposit on the car using my credit card. The employee said the money would be refunded back to the card when I return the car. I returned the car on the correct date and time . My credit card has not been refunded and now I'm getting the run around.

      Thank you for contacting us about your rental in ***********. In looking at your invoice the location put a hold on your account for $335.36 when you picked up the vehicle. When you returned the vehicle they actually billed your card $225.90 for additional items that were purchased at the rental counter such as liability and damage protection. The hold for $335.36 should have fallen off your account since it was just a hold or a "pending transaction" it will not show as an actual credit, it will just disappear from your account and you will only see the charge for $225.90. There was no additional deposit held on your account.       This company will charge you hidden fees of all kinds so usually the rental costs more than it would have using a more reputable and expensive company. Ask repeatedly if you're going to be charged. Some people out there are getting VERY RICH taking money from working class people. Nothing new.

      Hello. There was a refund processed of $158.71 processed back to your credit card on 2/10/23. There was also a $200 hold put on your credit card for the security deposit. This was just a hold for $200 and it would show as a "pending transaction" on your account. This hold is released by the location once your rental car is returned and no damage has been done. Since it was not an actual charge and only a hold once ************ it will just disappear from your account. It will not show as an "credit" since it was only a hold. It can take up to **** business days to reflect in your account. There were no other charges on your invoice and you only paid what you paid to Priceline.       Hello ******. In looking at your invoice from *********** it looks like that the only additional item you were billed for at was for liability coverage. This coverage is required at the rental counter and it does state that in the Terms and Conditions on the *** website as well as on the third-party websites under the "Rules and Restrictions" tab. All customers are required to show proof of liability and collision coverage. We apologize if you did not see this information prior to arriving at the rental location. Unfortunately there are no refunds on the insurance because you were covered during your rental. Thank you

      I told the agent I have my own coverage and I declined your liability coverage. The agent did not ask me to provide proof and did not tell me I was being charged. We are all very tired and overwhelmed when we arrive at the rental car company. When we are asked to sign multiple pages we are trusting that the agent has heard. Just because I signed does not mean I was not tricked into paying more. Claiming that you cannot refund me because I signed is a choice that your company makes in customer service. You "can" refund me for a service I didn't need but you choose not to. I was misled like the other reviewers. I didn't budget for an unnecessary fee. I had then and have now my proof of coverage but because of your company's routine dishonest practice I lose my hard earned money.

      Shame on Priceline for doing business which such a horrible car rental company! Arrived incredibly late to airport, near midnight- thinking it may be real quiet getting rental. WRONG! Had to wait forever for shuttle bus because they were packed and when I finally arrived to this car rental off site location, I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought I arrrived at a 3rd world country car rental site. It was packed with people everywhere...some waiting in line, some waiting for cars...what was going on? I would have right there and then cancelled this rental car, BUT I had already tried to a month ago when I found out it was off site and priceline refused to give me a refund! SO I was stuck! I waited another 2 1/2 hours in line to only find out they didn't have a car anywhere close to what I reserved..it was some old beat up van, but they knew I didn't even care, I just wanted out of there! Then, my son and I couldn't even see out of this smelly vehicle because there was some FILM on the driver side window while I am trying to drive in a city I do not know! Are you kidding me? at 3am in the morning! I have to literally get towels from my hotel and try to scrub my windshield the next day so I can see out the windshield! They also charge you a so called "damage fee" upon renting vehicle that will be refunded if no damages are on vehicle...guess what? you leave lot with all kinds of damages on these VERY USED vehicles....I threatened them when I returned vehicle my "damage fee" be refunded in 24 hours or I was contacting BBB ..it was but this company needs to be investigated....I rented 1 day of my same trip with Alamo and they are like HEAVEN compared to this c*** company!!! they are scam all the way around!!!!They try to get customers to pay $50 for some toll saying no tolls take cash...that is such a lie...tolls bridges take cash - $2.75 each way....so save your $50 They refused my friend's insurance information on her rental Do NOT rent from this company!

      Hello. There was a refund of $158.71 processed on 2/10/23 back to your credit card.       I rented an ACE rental car through Priceline l. I picked the vehicle up on 2/9/23. When I arrived this person asked for my reservation #, license and credit card. He told me that I needed to cancel the insurance ($52) that I had purchased on Priceline. He said that my credit card offered the same amount of coverage. He said trust me they will refund your money. I was thinking cool I am going to save some money. He then says you will need to purchase our insurance. Its $100 which includes taxes. I said ***, I am not aware of any additional fees other than whats on this Priceline document. He said that fee is only to rent the car. I said I bought additional insurance. He said it wont cover the other car. The ******************* was $75,000 with a zero deductible. He then said ********** is a no fault state. I said my personal insurance should cover it. This person was adamant that I could not rent the car without buying ACE insurance. I get to the hotel and started reading over the one piece of paper that he gave me. After running the numbers the insurance was actually $203.88 and not $100.00. I was blatantly lied too. Then I realized that the vehicle had driving restrictions on it. So now I have a car thats costing me $392 that I cant use for the purpose intended and with additional ACE insurance added that I know is optional. Rental car insurance has always been something you could decline. I have never felt so taken advantage of. Priceline could not offer any explanation on why ACE didnt honor the quote or why they forced their insurance on me. I rented the car to drive to ******* for the superbowl. I parked the car for the 4 days. I had to find another means of transportation. I only put 47 miles on the car. I have made multiple calls to ACE and spoke with several ppl and two of them hung up on me. I would like to be totally refunded due to the unethical business practices. This was classic bait and switch. I was overcharged. Conf# PLS13828302.

      Just rented a car from ******* area they said computers were down and I already had a prepaid rental threw Priceline they said I would have to do paperwork in ink even thought I showed them my e mail they sent a bill threw e mail only after I returned the car at double the price I already paid I have been trying to call but only get answer machine and customer service just hangs up when I call that number now I have to figure out what to do cant even leave review without selecting a rating I really dont want to give anything

      The most terrible place. SCAM Returned the car without any damage, they returned the deposit and after 4 months the Rockport Auto Claims contacted claiming ****usd for windshield. The lie. This place is a lie. Plus the *** was even purchased. This place is a complete SCAM.
