Short story: *** offers lower up front pricing, but will charge you extra for absolutely anything and everything they can (no matter how diligent you are in trying to avoid added fees). They are dishonest and intentionally misleading. Also, you can not take rentals out of state from their ****** Airport location, even with unlimited mileage, or you will be charged $442.Long story: we reserved a car online to drive from ****** to ********** and back. Unlimited mileage was included, and there was only a small note buried in the terms and conditions that geographic restrictions MAY apply. I didn't think much of this, assuming it meant you may not be able to go out of the country. I've never had an issue with any other car rental company regarding taking a car to a neighboring state.When we arrived at the rental center, they informed us taking the car out of their extremely limited service area would incur a "$350" fee. This was the first we heard of this, and at that point it was too late to book with one of the many other agencies who don't have such restrictions. We had to eat the cost. However this "$350" fee ballooned into a $442 fee when it was revealed they also tax the fee, which was also not mentioned previously.Also, the rental agents themselves will pressure you into adding extra insurance. I had to insist several times that I had my own coverage and did not want additional insurance, but they tried to mislead/misdirect me into believing you had to have their additional insurance. You do not.You truly get what you pay for, and are much better off spending a little more upfront to avoid unpleasantness, dishonesty, and exorbitant fees.ACE Rent A Car

Predatory pricing; bait and switch tactics, including add on fees for extra drivers and toll roads and fines for traveling out of state. Priceline and Orbitz only hurt themselves by listing this business.ACE Rent A Car

I rented an Ace car thru ****** & got what I thought was a good deal. Having read all the negative reviews, I was very nervous about what would happen when I arrived in *********, ** on Ict 21, 2022. The counter staff was very busy when I arrived but they took care of me efficiently. I would suggest they add some more counter staff during their busiest hours. I was prepared to take pictures of the car before leaving so no additional charges could be thrown at me but the rep was one step ahead of me & had me walk around the car with her as she took pics & then asked if I saw anything she missed. Although the car was not the fanciest, I had no performance problems. Thanks ********** ********* reps for adding to my enjoyable ** trip.ACE Rent A Car

We booked our rental car through Hotwire, ACE Rent A Car ********* is the rental company that we got for the van. Once we arrived at location to pick up our rental on September 18, we patiently waited our turn to be helped. ******* "Jazzy" was the customer service rep that was at the counter. She was very rude and not professional with her customer service skills. She immediately said the van would be $500.00 something, we booked the van and printed our reference for $357.33, we were then told for rental would be NOW $657.33. Oh by the way that was a $300.00 deposit for the van, was never told that there was a deposit. No problem for the deposit, but ***** never stated or explained the additional $300.00 charged, She then asked if we wanted to speak to a supervisor or manager, YES that would be great. We spoke with manager ***** who took over the rental process, we also stated to ***** exactly what ***** explained and also what she failed to explain (deposit) This was out first time ever renting with ACE Rent A Car, very bad experience. Returned vehicle on scheduled date and time September 22, 2022, now they found 2 small dots that were circled on front bumper. These same dots were on the bumper when we rented, but wasn't highlighted or circled. Can we refer this ACE Rent A Car to other individuals for rental. NO we can not give a good reference because WE had a very bad experience!!ACE Rent A Car

The man who helped us was nice however when I was speaking to the representative, he failed to mention anything about gas. They didn't have options for prepaying for the gas, no sign, current prices (nor did they offer or say anything.) I also read the rental agreement and it mentions NOTHING about gas. Well, they charged me $9.99 a GALLON which resulted in an additional $121 charge. In addition, i now have another additional $200 charge for no reason. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! with a rating of 3.5 at the *** location, they truly deserve to go out of business and really should update their rental agreement.ACE Rent A Car

Deception, lies, stolen money. I have made reviews in several forums and ACE promised to get in touch with me after I emailed them. they never have. 3 weeks since my rental. Terrible. Worst car company and I'm over 50 - I have used a lot of companies. Took 1 1/2 hour to get the car then it was a smaller size. then they charged me for fuel and the tank was full when returned.ACE Rent A Car

Literally the worst rental car experience ever. From beginning to end. Just to list a few things:1- Phone number listed on expedia reservation is a non-working number 2-Number that I found after an online search went unanswered for two hours because they "were on lunch"3- Pre-paid gas and they still charged us $156.50 for gas AND i returned with full tank 4 - Had me sign paperwork and said it was everything I had agreed to already. Charged $29/day for liability insurance that I would have never chosen. Was told that I would receive a $250 deposit back but did not. 5-The "Deal" I was booked with on Expedia was for a "managers choice" car but when we arrived, we were told there were no cars in that category.My $326 Expedia reservation turned in to $850 ordeal. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANYACE Rent A Car

I have rented cars from car rental companies over many years, but ACE rental in *******, ***** is the number 1 absolute worse one I have ever rented from. On Sept. 15, 2022 I went to pick up my reserved auto from ACE. First, they had no office at Hobby Airport in *******, ***** as they said they did. They sent a filthy van and driver to pick my wife and I up and drive us fifteen minutes away to their office. The girl at the counter was rude, and in a hurry to get off work. She had assigned up a car which was so dirty and low on gas, we refused that car, and as she was leaving the building, she told the help to get up another car. He drove another car to us which was worse then the first car. Not only was it dirty with dead bugs all over the front of it but it had been in an accident and was not fixed. We had no choice but to except it because the woman that assigned us the car had left. When we got in, it had less then 1/4 th and I will never rent from ACE rental again and I certanily would not recommend them. VERY VERY BAD experience. Don't get hung up on the low price, not so, and it was not worth it.ACE Rent A Car

Dishonest. I told them not to charge me for insurance because I already had insurance. But I do not rent cars often and they told me it was the "minimum legal for CA". I told them I already had insurance and they charged me anyway. They knew what they were doing. I rented the car at ********* on September 9, 2022. Will never rent from ACE. They charged me for extra insurance, charged me for extra driver which was never disclosed, charged me for gas $9.99/ gal even I prepaid., so many taxes and fees.
