Apria does not work with the patient for a request to purchase a c-pap machine. I started using the C-pap machine in July 2024. April 1, 2025 my insurance changed. They are starting a new rental service for ***** months on the same machine. If I would change insurance companies in January 2025. They would again bill the new rental for another ***** months for the same machine. I have received the run around for several hours.

Predatory billing practices. They got me once and now trying again. Called to order C-Pap supplies and verified the amount 3 different times that i was to pay. Told the *** that i wanted a bill sent to me. I received my bill in the amount of $22.67 with a break down of what each item cost. I paid the bill in full. Since the previous time i learned not to check the box to pay future amounts. Now they are wanting over $200.00 more dollar. I explained that i was paid in full and had a copy of the bill and they refuse to listen to anything i had to say

Apria, has what I consider predatory billing practices. I have a CPAP from them and I receive text messages from the billing department 2 weeks prior to a bill being due. The message states that I have missed a payment and to pay the bill online with a link. My insurance covers all of the bill, however I am directed to pay the invoice on line. Each time I have called (average of 32 min hold time) Im told it was a mistake. Do NOT pay any invoices sent via email or by text by this company!!! Call, clear it up and file a complaint.

They sent me a billing stating only ************ I have no relationship with this company. I checked with my dentist and dental insurer. Neither has a relationship with this company. I called their customer service number twice to understand this billing. The person I was connected to on the first call rapidly talked over me and did not allow me a chance to speak at all, despite my attempts. In the call they promoted free medical equipment with rapid fire monologue. During the second call they would again not take questions and instead asked me for personal information. When I refused, they hung up. Finally, replying to a later text from them, I threatened to report them to the ***. I have not heard from them since.

We rented equipment for my husband in April 2024 and our insurance *** paid their portion and we paid our copays for 2 months. Now many months later Apria is billing us for an outstanding balance of $100 despite proof of payment. Apria states our secondary insurance United Healthcare denied the claim. Of course they denied the claim, we do NOT have United Healthcare. I explained the charges where submitted and paid by ***. I have had MULTIPLE phone calls with Apria Billing over many months trying to resolve this. Sometimes an employee will tell me the billing issue has been resolved and to ignore bill since it crossed in the mail. Yesterday I was told we were sent to collections regarding outstanding balance. I provided name of past supervisor and provided a confirmation number she provided regarding resolution of this problem with a balance of zero. I was told by the phone agent that she is unable to locate past conversation with the supervisor. I requested yesterday and today to speak with a supervisor and have stayed home to be available to deal with this and still no phone call from supervisor. I just spoke with another phone agent today re: when a supervisor would call me back and was told that there is no balance and that there is no comment in my file that anything was sent to collection. I was told by Apria agent to go on website to see the balance of $0. I logged in while still on the phone with the agent and it shows a balance of $100, Agent assured me he does not see a balance on his end. I asked what can be done to remedy this situation and told nothing can be done. I asked for an email to confirm our conversation and was told Apria does not send emails to clients. I again asked to speak with supervisor. Still awaiting a call. ******** customer service.

As with the other customer (i.e., victims) of ********************** Health, I cannot recommend this company. In my case:-I was initially requested to give my credit card without an itemized receipt from Apria, which I refused. To illustrate why one shouldnt provide Apria with credit card information, an internet search revealed that this company was previously fined by the ************************ for $40.5M for its fraudulent billing conduct. -Apria has an agreement with my insurance provider, but because Apria failed to live up to the terms of this contract by filing its payment request late, my insurance company did not pay for my ****. Further my insurance carrier stated I owed nothing as well because Apria failed to live up to its contract. Apria has ignored oral and written communications to this fact and it now has a collection service requesting payment.-My next steps are to notify the collection agency that its requested funds are in dispute, to ask for legal assistance with a contact that I have at the *** in its Oakland CA office and to notify my doctor of the unscrupulous corporate culture of Apria Health that didnt learn from its previous fine.

I had a very disappointing experience with Apria. I would not recommend using them and suggest finding another vendor. It seems that their focus is primarily on collecting money from insurance companies rather than prioritizing patient care. I was particularly frustrated by the lack of support from their employees, who were rude and unhelpful. The customer service is very poor.

Im forced to go through this company with my healthcare. Its been a financial risk to me on multiple occasions and incredibly negligent. They sent me a device without any communication prior to my agreement of cost or product type. I was then charged fees for set up before even signing a rental agreement. I spent hours on the phone being passed around to various department leads, none of which had any visibility into another. All giving me different information. I was not connected, it was on me to play the role of my own defense at all times for an item they sent through my insurance incorrectly. When ordering adjusting items they put me in touch with a respiratory therapist who not only didnt know anything about the products, but made me call the supply company to see whats in stock. I have no visibility into next steps, whats being purchased and chargedthe whole process is absolutely terrible and we are all forced to deal with it from limited insurance options on very expensive plans.

You should absolutely not use Apria. You are billed amounts without statements showing what was purchased. There are no itemized bills. There are no itemized receipts. There is no transparency showing what was billed to insurance, what insurance paid, etc. Double billing is common. They harass you to purchase more than you need. DO NOT GIVE THEM CREDIT CARD INFORMATION TO KEEP ON FILE!!
