Uncontrollable cockroaches problem. Unsolved roof leakage problem ( in past roof collapsed). No body in the rental office takes care of the issues.Customer Answer
Date: 11/02/2023
Management is unprofessional. No one ever answers the phone call. I had issue with my roof leakage in bedroom and they temporarily put wooden planks so that it doesnt collapse and told us that they will fix it in a weeks time. Now its almost more than 3 weeks and still not fixed. We are not able to use the bedroom for last 3 weeks. And management is not taking responsibility and giving rude attitude every single time we reach them with our problem. They are not able to give a time frame for the repairing. The whole build is infested with rats and cockroaches. It been more than 3 years they have not done pest control. And carpet stinks in the hallway. Because of lots of commercial and unauthorized vehicles being parked in the parking lot tenants can not find parking because people parking limousines and big vans and tow trucks. There are towing company parking more then 15 trucks all over the place and big vans at night, told to management about it but they dont care. Old management was great and they had great managers and they had zero tolerance on this parking issues and they used to do pest control every year. We are having so many issues with new management. No responsibility to their duties and not helping. I am sleeping in living room without using my bedroom and I dont know how many more days or month they will take. When I go to talk to them they tell me manger is busy or on lunch break and I told them I will wait. After hour or half a hour thy come to talk and they talk to me with rude attitude. That means dont come. Is this we have to suffer with someone who can think they can do what ever they want and dont respect and dont care about to something to solve problem. People who are working in maintenance are also tired they are making them work so hard and not hiring more people. I spoke to some of them they told us they are doing jobs which they are not suppose to janitor is doing painting, cleaning ladies are doing some other jobs which they dont even have experience. This is because of all new management. Wondering how long this will keep on going with this kind of service.Business Response

I have been living at ************************************************************************** for eight years. In 2022, Bayshore properties took over the building. on July 13, 2023 I gave notice to move out at the end of my lease on August 31, 2023 because they have raised my rent from $1509 to over $2000 per month and during the duration of my one-year lease, Bayshore properties have not provided any maintenance to my unit. We often have to wait more than 40 minutes for hot water to come in to our unit resulting to us often showering with cold water resulting to health issues. They also often shut off the water leaving us with no supply for more than 8 hours. Lastly, whenever we try to ask for assistance the management office would be very rude and passive aggressive towards us. They never seem to have an answer and tells us if you dont like it here then you can go look for another place! I received 3 different proposals from the management office. I have tried multiple time to rectify this concern and they have been very dismissive, rude and passive aggressive. My husband even sent an email to their regional manager and yet we still do not have an answer. I do not believe that we should pay any extra amount after the end of our lease due to the fact that they have not provided any resolutions to our concerns since they started managing the building. I have paid my rent on time every month and I feel that they are price gouging or retaliating against my notice to move out.Customer Answer

The roof of my unit has been leaking badly for more than two years and is causing considerable damage to the walls and ceiling of the apartment. Despite multiple maintenance requests, no action has been taken to address the roof issue. Earlier this year, a temporary drywall patch was installed to the interior, but with the roof still leaking, this is now routing water down the inside of the wall, saturating the drywall and causing more widespread damage. Previous maintenance requests have been entered as complete with variations on the notation waiting for roofer, but to the best of my knowledge, no roofing crew has ever been dispatched. If so, then no effective repair has been made. All I want the roof properly fixed, and my walls and ceiling repaired.Business Response

I recently moved from Parkwest Apartments March 6,2023, I received a email stating I had a balance due but not how much or why because we never missed any rent payments, so I called the manager and she said its for $2000 for cleaning and non 60 day notice. I dont agree because we didnt damage any parts of the apartment or the appliance, the rugs were unclean but not damaged and a notice was made in January a office member **** called me and asked was i resigning the lease on March 6 and I stated no due to the rent being raised every year of $100. I was also told it was put in collections and I was just made aware of this 05/24/2023 by email.Business Response

I am a current resident of the complex. Our heat hasnt been working since 10/19/22. I have put in several requests for service and the requests keep getting closed and completed. I have been told several times there is a request put in to Standard Heating and Air but nothing has come from it. We have been given a small space heater and told to wait. I have put 4 requests in so far opened 10/19/22, Completed on 11/08/22; another one opened 11/08/22, completed 11/15/22, another opened 11/18/22, completed 12/05/22 and finally 12/20/22, completed 01/03/22. None of these times have they actually done anything but switch out the display for the heat/air.Customer Answer

I have lived in these apartments for 7 months and about two months after I moved in my apartment flooded and had sopping wet floors almost all throughout the back side of my apartment, about two weeks after I notified them of this issue and nothing being done mold began to grow in both the hallway and bedroom closet as well as the bathroom and my carpet in all flooded areas. I then notified them via a work order placed in the resident portal online of the mold with nothing being done after about a week I then went into the office and asked when this would be able to be done and was told a note would be made for it and they would send someone as soon as possible, nobody was sent until I went to the office around two more times. He let me know what caused the flooding and said he would put another work order in for the drywall to be replaced, the carpet was vacuumed out and the drywall was only replaced behind my bathroom toilet and on one wall in my bedroom closet. I then went into the office two or three more times to ask if they were going to send anybody to finish replacing the drywall which was met with the same response as before. I took matters into my own hands and scrubbed the mold off of my walls after being sent to the ** for a fungal infection caused by the mold spores from my apartment bearing this mold. I also am almost immediately sent to voicemail every time that I call the office and if I leave a voicemail I am not responded to.Business Response

I was without AC for ten days this summer while temperatures were 90+ degrees outside. I submitted a maintenance request and contacted them multiple times, but no one reached out to me until I contacted the corporate office in ******* to complain about this issue. It then took two further days to actually repair my unit. This happened again this winter when I had no heat to my apartment and submitted a maintenance request on 11/12. I requested a follow-up on the 14th, 15th, and 16th. I emailed Bayshore on 11/29 b/c I had heard nothing. **** said someone would contact me same-day. 12/1 I had heard nothing and reported this issue to the ************************ It was 57 degrees in my apartment. I did not have heat to my apartment until 12/7, after calling the office on December 3rd and informing them that I would be withholding rent until this was repaired. I asked if they had received my request for repairs on 11/12 and ******* confirmed this but could not explain why it had been three weeks with no action from them. I then called on 12/5 because my heat still was not repaired (they did drop off a 12 space heater for my 700 sq ft apartment on 12/3), and ******* said someone would be by later that day or the next day. I reiterated that I would not be paying rent until this was fixed. 12/6, a late rent payment fee of $75.00 was posted to my account, and online payments were shut down. 12/7 I spoke with ***, to inform her that the late fee was illegal and I had been fully within my rights to withhold rent. She did remove this fee because this is the first time youve done this, and informed me that I would be required to bring payment as a cashiers check to the office. There has been no explanation as to why I was without heat for over three weeks, and the office has done nothing to make this right. My rent should be prorated for the 3 weeks that I did not have livable conditions. I have digital proof of these conversations.Business Response
