      I am issuing a complaint because my trash has failed to be picked up by the company in the last 3 weeks. I called them this last Friday to ask why it hasn’t been picked up. They informed me that it was because I didn’t space out my trash cans 2-3 feet apart from each other. The company did not provide me any guidance to do this until I called them. They apologized and informed me that if I fixed this issue they would come by on Monday to pick it up. Monday came and they still did not show up. I called again and asked why it wasn’t picked up and they didn’t have an answer for me. They told me that I would have to wait until Friday to get it picked up. I’m not paying my bill this month if they don’t do their jobs and pick up my trash.

      We apologize that you've had issues with our services.  After looking into your account, it appears that your address was incorrect on the return route and the driver failed to contact our office to get it fix so we could pick up your trash.  I have taken steps to ensure that this won't happen again as the pin to your house has been fixed.  I also spoke with the Driver Manager concerning this and he is speaking with the driver. 

      I'm unsure what time you're placing your bins out but there have been several weeks that the driver is marking your address as "skipped not out" when he is there. I pulled a video, and it does show that your bins were not out. It also appears that each week the driver is at your house between 6:55 am - 7:05 am.    Our drivers start early so we recommend to all our customers to have their bins out either the night before or at 6 am on their service day.  

      I place a credit of $8.75 on your account for the week service that we missed when the driver never completed the return in October.

      If you should have any more issues, please don't hesitate to reach out to us as soon as possible.

      see attachedThis is to confirm my conversation yesterday with your manager that I have canceled your service.

      Why? Because I have called your telephone number ************* every week for the last three weeks to request pick-up of our lawn debris. My day is "Tuesday". The lady who answers assured me that "a note will be placed...".Today is Friday. The same four or five bags have been out for weeks.

      I live in Armour Hills. The Home Association has requested that trash or debris not be placed on the curb before the afternoon of pick-up day. Three weeks is too long.

      I have been trying to call to make a payment so my trash will finally get picked up, after numerous times telling them to put me on auto pay. I finally got off work on time to call before they closed on Wednesday 9/11/2024. I called at 4:16pm to pay my bill just to have someone answer the call and put me right back on hold for the last 14 minutes they were open for business, at exactly 4:30pm the phone call was ended. I called right back just to hear a message saying they were closed and would have to call back during normal business hours. This was EXTREMELY rude. Now my trash has been piling up for 3 weeks and despite my efforts to make a payment just to be hung up on. This is not how business is supposed to be done. This was absolutely unacceptable and RUDE! They need to hire people that actually want work. I am going to switch waste pick up companies it won’t take effect till next week. That’s going to make a month my trash cans have been full and stink really bad.

      Hello, 

      We apologize that you had an issue with getting ahold of us.  After reviewing your account, it looks like your account was locked on August 23rd, 2024, due to us not receiving the payment that was due on August 1st, 2024.  The week prior to us locking the account we sent out call blasts to all customers that are past due letting them know of the balance on their account.  If we do not receive payment by the following week (8/19 - 8/23) we sent out another call blast stating that if payment isn't received by noon on Friday, 8/23 the account will be locked, and service will be stopped.  

      On September 5th we received a call from a women asking if she can set up a payment arrangement with us.  We let her know that she will need to pay at least $111 for us to keep servicing the bins and she stated that she will call us back. On September 12th we received a voicemail, and we called you back on September 13th and you stated that you don't want to deal with a company like us.  Our Assistant Office Manager spoke with you on 9/13, and you said you started service with another provider and to cancel the account.

      We had made several attempts to contact you about your past due balance but unfortunately a payment wasn't received so we had to stop services for you.  This is not something that we like to do but unfortunately, it's necessary.

      I paid in advance for trash and recycle services for the next 3 months. My check deposited on 8/5, service for 8/6. No services were provided and they took my recycle bin from my house. I called as I work night shift and they failed to solve the issue. I received no help! I called for 4 days straight. They are refusing to return any portion of my money! I want my refund as no services were provided for 2 weeks, this isn’t right. This is a bad, fraudulent company!

      After looking into your account, I found that we didn't take your recycling bin.  The truck and trailer that would pick up the bins is not in the area of your service day. Our staff had called you on August 7th, August 8 and August 9th to try to help you but wasn't ever able to reach you.  Then on 8/13 we called again about you wanting to cancel and had to another voicemail for you.  On August 15th, we received an email to cancel the service.  The account has been cancelled out and since you had service in August, we will refund you for September and October services not rendered.

      Sent a rep to my doorstep offering $61 a quarter, forced to sign to get a quote sent. Quote was in turn set sent with $67 a month. This is a company I left due to prices being doubled and was fooled into signing to allow permission to send me a quote I have security footage of what the rep told me price wise

      After reviewing the contract sent to us it appears that yes, the rate given to you was $67 a quarter.  On the contract submitted to us there was a note stating that you already had bins and were looking to start sooner if possible.   There was no mention of only wanting a quote for service, which if that was what you had wanted we would of needed all your information to put into the tablet to send the quote over to you.   After we looked up your account we noticed that you had a large past due balance with us so we weren't able to start service for you. 

      The rate increase that was on your account was also given to all customers across the board and when you called in to ask about the increase our staff had tried to work with you and offered you a lower rate.  Which you had said to her that you were going to call back to let us know if you were going to stay with us or not.    You never called back to confirm nor cancel your account.  We had to close your account since we never received payment.

      For years I was a customer of **** Corp. In April I received a renewal notice from KC Disposal that I wrote a check for since they changed a premium to use credit cards. I put my plastic bags out on May 7th but they were not picked up. I called the next day and was told they no longer would accept plastic. When I asked when that started the woman said May 1 and emails were sent out. I never received an email nor did any of my neighbors. I then asked for a refund which she said they don’t refund. She became frustrated with me when I told her that nowhere on the billing did it say that. She then told me she would remove me from the pick up list which I said fine just send a refund. She said “no” and hung up. So now I’m out of money AND service. My wife and I are retired and $268 is a lot of money to us. Thank you for your help.

      Hello,

      KC Disposal bought out KC Compost yard waste customers in March 2024 and started servicing then immediately.  KC Compost mailed out a letter to the residents letting them know of the change of service.
      Starting May 1st, 2024, we stopped picking up yard waste in plastic bags and that was not bundled. We had all this information published on our website as soon as we took over from KC Composting.

      On May 8, 2024, **** ****** called and left a voicemail saying that his yard waste wasn’t picked up. Our customer service representative ********* called him back on May 8th.  **** told her that he had his yard waste in plastic bags.  She advised him that unfortunately we do not take plastic bags for yard waste but offered to put his address on a return route for the following day to pick up his plastic bags this one time but going forward he would need to have the yard waste in the brown paper bags.  He then got upset and told her that he wanted a refund and that he would find another company.  Our representative informed him that the company policy is that once payments have been made, we do not offer any refunds.  **** asked to speak with a manager. 

      Our Office Manager ***** took over the call and let **** explain what was going on.  She tried to explain to him that the plastic bags are not environmentally safe and that we could provide him with a yard waste bin to use at no charge.  He then demanded a refund, and she explained that the company policy is that once payments have been made that we do not give refunds.  He refused the bin and said to cancel his account, and he will contact the Attorney General and sue us.  Each time ***** tried to talk he would speak over her and not let her talk.  She eventually had to end the call because he wouldn’t allow her to do anything to help him.

      I am rejecting this response because:
      This is a lie! I never said to cancel my pick up and to be out $268.00 that’s absurd. The office manager ended the call by saying “ I will just take you off the pick up list “ then hung up. 
      I have never come across a company that doesn’t stand behind customer service and satisfaction. Charging money and not preforming service is stealing money and I have been dealing with these thieves for 4 months now. I have had to hire another company for pick up spending more money. 
      I’m tired of dealing with KC disposal I hope they are happy stealing from retirees.

      Salesman came to my home from "KC disposal" yesterday 7/19/25. He claimed he was giving neighbors info on new trash services at $25/month for information only. He stated I could let whomever calls to follow up that i am not interested. Today I received an email showing a signed contract that says i have a week until I will incur a $75 fee for cancelling. This was not explained to me and I never signed a contract. Very shady and misleading. I tried to call the company and was on hold for 30 minutes to try to talk to someone. No contact info on contract or email.

      We apologize that you were sent the contract.  Our company uses a 3rd party company to go door to door to sell our services.  We contacted the person who spoke with you and asked him about it, and he knew you only wanted a quote for service, and he accidentally sent in as a contract instead of just the quote. I apologize if he misled you as it's not our intention to ever do that to any potential customers.  We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and you will not receive any bill or anything else from KC Disposal.  Thank you!

      Kc Disposal Decided that they will not pick up my trash, although it is paid for because I gave them a one star review on Google. After calling to speak with someone, I was told that they will not pick up my trash until I take down my review or refund me my money.

      Hello, 

      KC Disposal takes payment up front for each quarter of service.  ****** had paid for the months of June, July and August on May13th, 2024.  When we missed her trash, we had our driver take any additional trash on her next service pick-up day.  ****** decided to stay with us and cancelled service at the end of August.  So, the payment she made is for the 3 months of services she has received.  There is no refund that is due.

      KC disposal goes out of their way to not actually pick up your trash. 4/26/2024 - Had to run my two trashcans and 10 bags of yard waste out to the curb this morning after a big storm last night and the driver for the recycle pickup looked right at me pushing the cart and decided to speed up instead of slowing down to pick up. I waved and even hollered for him but he just ignored me. They will also shut off service if you are even a week late on your payment, even though they don’t communicate when your bill is actually due each quarter. I think this is the final straw to cause me to switch, they don’t seem to care if I have their business anyway. I also spoke to someone earlier this week about adding 10 bags of yard waste to my account since the stickers would not arrive in time. The driver picked up 6 bags, ripping one open in front of the house and leaving the additional 4 bags sitting there. Talked to customer service and she argued with me about the limit being 6 bags (earlier in the week there was no limit). Told her I want to cancel my service immediately and that they need to refund me the remaining month since I pay quarterly. Was told there was no way to do that (that’s a lie).

      I'm sorry you are having issues with our service. This may help clear things up.

      We ask that all customers put their trash recycling yard waste at the curb by 6am on their pickup day as our trucks start route at 7am. It seems like you may have been putting it out late. Our trucks are extremally loud so I'm sure our driver did not hear or see you as they are focusing on the road and servicing customers. Our billing is sent out around the 10th of the month prior to when the bill is due. We have options for email as well as mailed invoices. We give our customers 10 days after the due date to pay the bill. We then send email or calls to let our customers know that their bill is past due if we do not receive payment then we will lock account until bill is paid. We would love to speak with you please call us at *** *** **** and ask for *******

      I am rejecting this response because:

      Please provide documentation that you have communicated in any sort of way the pick up time for recycles as this has been inconsistent for the duration I have used your services. In this specific case, the driver looked directly at me as he was driving up the street (despite you giving him the benefit of the doubt and implying that I'm a liar). The driver could have represented your company in a positive light and exercised 5 seconds of patience, however, he made a decision to accelerate rather than slow down. I know what I saw despite you being “sure our driver did not hear or see you” and your laughable claim that “they are focusing on the road and servicing customers.” Servicing customers… just not this one, right? Where was their focus when the driver from the trash truck ripped open a bag of yard waste in the street in front of my house, making a huge mess and then failing to pick up the other 4 bags of remaining yard waste until I called and complained and they had to come back? It's interesting that you accept the word of your driver as absolute truth, failing to even consider the possibility that they did actually choose to drive on by, because one less trash can to pick up means they get to go home earlier (6 bags of yard waste are easier to pick up than 10... you see the trend here?). I appreciate that you advocate for your employees and support them above your customers, however, in this case it will cost you a customer that has been with you for 5+ years. 

      Additionally, please tell me how have you been sending my billing information? I do not recall receiving any notification when bills are actually due. Your office seems to have the same lack of attention to detail and customer focus as your drivers. Again, none of this matters. You will continue treating customers like trash and your online reputation will continue to reflect that.

      on 2/12/24 KC Disposal charged for a qty of 5 at $3 each for a empty trash bin that was to be picked up by the previous trash company. on 3/11/24 KC Disposal charged for a qty of 3 at $3 each for the same empty trash bin that the previous trash company had still not picked up. There was an obvious miscommunication between my previous trash company who had not picked up the trash bin (by the way, their trash pick-up day unfortunately happened to be the same day (Monday) as my new trash company, KC Disposal, which totally compounded the issue and caused the added charges to my new KC Disposal bill. The trash bin was clearly empty and was for some reason billed at two different rates by KC Disposal even though they did not have to provide any services for (it was not emptied, because there was no trash in it) therefore KC Disposal did not provide any service that would legally allow them to bill for services. The charges are on an upcoming bill due on 5/1/24 so there is no issue to argue about a refund because it has not been debited from my account yet. I have spoke with two representatives at KC Disposal. The latest one (who was supposed to be a manager, who called me back from a request I had for a manager to call me) said she would lower the 5 at $3.00 each charge to 3 at $3.00 each (which she explained was a charge equivalent to a 65 gallon trash bin collection charge) that was the only thing she was willing to do to adjust the account. As I stated, there was no service provided by KC Disposal on any of those dates I was billed for an empty trash bin that was supposed to be picked up by previous trash company. KC Disposal has no right to bill for services not provided by their company. To date the charges have not been paid, if KC Disposal corrects the billing in a timely manner, before 5/1/24 then there will be no issue. However, they seem to be unwilling to correct their billing at this point. I can-not stop payment, or I will nullify my agreement with them.
