We contacted KeyME over the phone for a vehicle lockout service. On the website, the company states, "We’re not like other locksmiths; no hidden fees, we provide the full price prior to booking." When we asked about the pricing of a technician, the call taker ignored the question, confirmed the address, and hung up after advising us the locksmith would be calling us. We were slightly taken aback that the call taker very clearly ignored the question about pricing on the phone. Soon after, the locksmith arrived in an unmarked vehicle and presented absolutely no indication of what company or key service he worked for. He stated the service would be $150. Then stated that because the vehicle is a 2 door, he would have to charge an extra $250 dollars. There was a feeling of urgency and intimidation since the technician had already arrived and it was an emergency lockout. We did not feel comfortable arguing or finding a different quote with the locksmith standing there so we agreed. KeyME's website states they accept all major credit and debit cards. When we asked if we could pay by card, the locksmith insisted that we ***** him. Only after I sent a ***** did i see that it went to a "*************** LLC" based out of Dallas, TX. The locksmith collected an exorbitant fee as well as personal information without giving us any kind of receipt of proof of the work he did or who he worked for. The whole experience was uncomfortable and made the locksmith and KeyMe feel extremely untrustworthy and scam-like. Very disappointing and slimy.

KeyMe Locksmiths caused me pain and suffering during a horrific episode in my life. They took advantage of me because I was in a desperate situation. Having been displaced from my home for months as my ex-partner has squatted in my home, I called a locksmith after learning that he had vacated. This "locksmith" came in an hour. I should have sent him away when he showed up without a work uniform or equipment except a small duffel bag. He seemed to have little competency because he was calling someone about what to do. I took video of his work. First, he drilled out my deadbolt lock. Second, this young man told me that he couldn't open the bedroom door where I expected to find my missing belongings. He asked for permission to kick it down, which I gave him, not understanding that it wouldn't just destroy the door but the doorframe as well. He told me that I hadn't ordered a "lock change" and he wouldn't be able to secure the home for me, which is what I needed given that I have been stalked, harassed, and abused by my ex-partner, and I was afraid he might come back to do more damage.
A real locksmith, who I contacted the next day, took one look at his shabby work and yelled out a few curse words. The bedroom door should have been easy to pick and there was absolutely no reason for him to kick it down. I took photos of the damage and called back customer service. They were unrepentant and said he did exactly what I asked. I disagree. I asked for my home to be secured with new locks. They hung up on me twice. Do yourself a favor and avoid this sham company.

      SCAM ALERT!!!
I contacted KeyMe and requested a locksmith. I was told that a locksmith would contact me and go over the cost and get approval before arrival. This did not happen. A locksmith showed up and told me a price, I thought it was high but agreed to the service. After the service, he told me another price that was over $100 more then told me. because he didn't have reception, he said I could only pay by ***** (to his personal and not to a business account). I felt pressured to pay because the service was already done. After he left, I had a bad feeling about it. Since I provided the fob, I knew that I had overpaid since the website claims service is cheaper than dealers. I reached out to KeyMe and they got me connected to their partner company that does locksmith services. When they called me, it was flagged as a scam call. I requested a receipt but all they gave me was an invoice with the price I paid on it and wouldn't itemize it. It appears as though I was charged for the fob that I provided. The invoice had a business name on it that does not seem to exist on google and the address was in a state on the complete opposite side of the country and the email address goes to a different company name that also doesnt seem to exist on ******. I reached back out to KeyMe about it and was just told that they dont have access to receipts and apologized for the inconvenience. I overpaid by $400, DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!

I got locked out my car so I called keyme locksmiths thinking it was gonna be a professional locksmith coming to help unlock my car but the guy took almost an hour to get here when he said he be here in 5 minutes when he got here he pulled up with no markings or what so ever so he started to try to unlock my car but it he was no professional at all he press every button on the door handle except the one to unlock the car then mid way trying to open it he decided to pee in the lattc parking lot then come back to open the car which he did do but then he said it be $40 fee with $365 added just to open the car now I did pay it but that's way to high and said it be fine just take it to my insurance with the receipt given to me but the receipt given won't hold up to anything as it does not have the company's name or the technician name full name this company should no longer be able to operate if they are going to scan there customers willing to pay and if they are charging high rates for something thays under $100 it can pose a danger as for there people who won't pay the rates which could lead problems for both party's hope something is done to stop this operation "as they use many third party's many who aren't in the state CA as the technician came to open my car his car plates are from ******* meaning they are probably doing this over different states but this is just my opinion on what this guys are doing"

My husband's key fob had broken and the key piece had gone missing, leaving him able to get into his car, but not start it. We called KeyMe and they refused to give a quote until after they got here($280- we later found this was more than DOUBLE the price other local companies charged for such a service), cut a plain key, and UNNECESSARILY deprogrammed his fob.The next morning, my husband discovered that the key, which had been successfully used in his ignition, would NOT unlock his car. So we called that afternoon, and we're told a locksmith would be here in an hour or so to fix it.3 hours later, there's no locksmith, so we call again- and this time, it's, "Nope, I actually won't be coming today, but I'll be there at 8 or 9 AM tomorrow." Spoiler alert - he didn't show.We had a different company finally come and fix the original key fob, and when we called for a refund, it was denied, as we still had the (dysfunctional) key in our possession.TL;DR- they're under-qualified scammers with horrific customer service.

Called to request lockout service and was told the price varies but is around $90 to $120. Locksmith shows up, reeking of cigarettes, and after he's inside my place quotes me $350, pushing for cash and then ***** or *****. I ended up paying because I didn't want a confrontation. Do NOT trust.

After reaching out to support, they refunded me for the difference between the quoted and what I paid. I definitely appreciate that and their support team making a good effort to resolve this. I think the partners they work with probably need more vetting but glad that they were ******* to resolve the issue.

Horrible customer service. I was given a fraudulent key that was very cheap and broke easily. After contacting them, they refused to give me a refund or at least look at the key. They refused to also replace it and took forever to reply back.

I'd give them 0 stars if I could. I called this morning shortly after 8 to have someone come and change the lock on my front door. I gave them my address and phone number, and was told a tech was 4 miles away and to stay by my phone. 4 hours later I hadn't received a call yet, so I called back. I told the person that answered that I wasn't sure if this was supposed to be an all day wait or not, but I didn't think so and asked if I could get an update on how things were going. She said, "we don't service your area.'..... then whyyyyy did a gentleman take my address and phone number and tell me a tech would be reaching out to me shortly?!?! She replied, "that's a good question."

KeyMe Locksmith's is a complete scam. I was locked out of my house when the battery in my keyless entry unexpectedly died. I called KeyMe as their ****** listing indicated that their location was less than five minutes from my house (not true- I went to the address after the fact and it's one of their key-making kiosks, very misleading) I explained to both the dispatcher and the technician that it was keyless entry- not a standard deadbolt lock. I was quoted a price of $99 on the phone. When the technician arrived at my house- he already had the handwritten invoice filled out before he hit my front steps for $217 and change. He then said that the only thing he could do with a keyless entry was drill through it. At no time before arriving at my house, did he or the dispatcher tell me that they couldn't pick those locks like traditional locks. It was raining, I had been locked out for three hours, and felt I had no other recourse than to have him do it at that point. The tech also left a terrible mess of metal shreds all over my front doorway. Later that night, when I had time to process what had happened, I called KeyMe to complain. They agreed that the dispatcher and/or the tech should have told me ahead of time about the inability to pick keyless entry, and they agreed to refund me the full amount of the service- but could not refund my credit card. They wanted to ***** or ******* me the refund. I don't use electronic payment services, so they said they would send me a check and it would arrive in 5-8 business days. I have an email from them and a confirmation #. That was 21 calendar days ago. When I try to call their customer service today- they aren't answering my calls. I'm sent to a mailbox. I called yesterday and asked to speak to a manager and they said that they "don't pass down calls" to management and it will be another 2-3 weeks for my refund. I would like to give this company ZERO stars for customer service because one seems too generous.
