This is seems like just a scam for dealers to bring in people to cars they want to move. They say pre-approved. If you have excellent credit, you will get financed for sure. Credit low to bad? Your going to waste a lot of time and miles wasting your time. Even worst, the dealerships are in on the game. Just send people, approved or not. Sure once in a while someone will get approved. The others keep them looking busy. I am not a reviewer, advisor of any kind. Your results may vary and I am in no way trying to discredit any business. This is based on my experience and your results may vary.

I recently purchased a 2018 Tahoe. Prior to going to dealership, I shopped financing. After filling out the questionnaire, CarGurus quoted me an interest rate of 8.5% with "******************". I went to the dealership, showed them the quote as I was told to do. I was told that my interest rate was ****%+/- with "******************" which was totally unacceptable. If they have companies that can't honor what they quoted, they shouldn't be in business. I will make sure to not use their website for anything except finding vehicles.

Car Gurus **** Is a Scam and so is **********************. Central ******* Nisan pulls the bait and switch. Had me drive over an hour for a car that was available on their lot. When I get there the car was mysteriously on a test drive and also sold 2 days ago. If they are pulling this stunt then they are pulling many other!>

Last month in June, I went on the site CarGurus because my ******* had been vandalized. I found two cars that were within the scope of what I was looking for and I saved the pages of two dealerships, and only one dealership contacted me immediately. I was sold a lemon after a week of driving the car off the lot from the dealership in *******.Everything appeared to be fine when I test drove the car, and I was even told that everything was up to par granted the windows not being operable which would be fixed at a later date. Following after purchasing the vehicle, and have several runs to the mechanic, I'm now out of an additional $3,000 for maintenance repairs that the dealership failed to check: this including a new converter from (2) separate diagnostics due to my engine light turning on after 3-weeks. When I informed the dealership in writing about all of my issues, all they did was turn off the light for it to reappear again. My car was literally falling apart and whatever gorilla glue the dealership used wore off until the damage was already done. I wrote this in a review with CarGurus, and like many have stated, they claim that they can't "legally" post negative reviews on dealerships in order to prevent others from fraudulent mishaps or being sold lemons. This is a poor reflection on the integrity of their company and what they stand by and for. They clearly condone these antics given the poor ratings of different sites, but most importantly, they should be vetting the dealerships that they associate themselves with.

I received a sell offer from CarGurus just higher than the the three before. I received my paperwork through ***** and the check. Day of inspection, the inspector statement there was some issues with the vehicle and will decrease the money, I received another package from ***** through CarGurus. Then the day of pick up the driver drove the car off and come back 0 minutes later saying the car broke down and a tow truck will come get it. Several hours later I get a call from CarGurus saying they will not process with the purchase. This is a very BAD company they need to be on the BLACK list DO NOT use. The car was inspected and we closed the deal that evening. I would avoid CarGurus after the way I was treated.

CarGurus/******** makes selling of your car through their website seem like a streamlined process - in reality, it has been a chaotic, unfriendly process. After accepting their offer and submitting the document, CarGurus told me that a tech from LemonSquad will reach out for car inspection within 48 hours which never havent's even though I contacted them 2-3 times; after a week, they did assign a tech from a wrong state (it is a mystery why they will assign a tech in **** to inspect a car in **********). Even though I have reached out to them multiple times, the response has been the same "we understand your frustration and will resolve it", however it has been over 2 weeks with no resolution. It is a false advertisement, as their marketing materials and selling website states that the vehicle will be inspected by the driver picking up the vehicle - nowhere, do they state that they contract it to a 3rd party company (LemonSquad). Very bad experience and false marketing.

I received several offers about a week ago for my very clean 2015 Lexus RX350 and I accepted the $19,200 offer from CarGurus which was slightly higher than offers from Carmax and Carvana. Upon acceptance, in one of the first chats the CarGurus rep asked if this was about my offer on a 2015 Lexus RX350 F Sport model. I replied immediately that it was not an F Sport but just an RX350 (the initial email from CarGurus made no mention of F Sport and I never indicated that in any correspondence). The rep said the corrected trim had been noted (I kept a screen shot of that reply). I proceeded through the selling process, doing the self inspect with photos and video. The vehicle was scheduled and confirmed for pickup tomorrow, May 17, 2023. I received the ***** package with documents which would be needed at pickup. The car was inspected and test driven 4 days ago by a mechanic from Lemon Squad. Today, less than 24 hours before scheduled pickup, I received an email saying the inspector found that my car was not an F Sport so the offer was being lowered by $1,000 to $18,200 which I would not accept. I wasted a week of my time with CarGurus when I could have easily accepted another offer. This afternoon I went on ***** Blue Book and within minutes I received an instant offer from a local dealer for $19,000. The car was inspected and we closed the deal this evening. I would avoid CarGurus after the way I was treated.
