During the holiday season, I made a significant number of purchases on *********, using BeFrugal.com as my cashback provider. Based on their advertised rates, I was entitled to receive $55,632 in cashback.When it came time for payment, BeFrugal required me to verify my orders, which I did. I provided all necessary proof of my purchases, yet they reversed all my earnings and refused to pay. Their justification was that they did not receive payment from the retailer, but that is not the responsibility of the consumer.Had I known BeFrugal would withhold my earnings, I would have chosen a different cashback provider, such as *******, TopCashback, or Price.comany of which would have paid out, even if the commission was lower. At no point did BeFrugal or Sonos disclose that cashback payments could be denied, making this a clear case of deceptive advertising.I am requesting full payment of the $55,632 that BeFrugal owes me. BeFrugal is a scam website.I bought the Sonos speakers through this website for cashback and it took me about 3 months to show the cash back status.Once it showed, I requested the payout amount $179.85 to my bank.Since then I dont hear anything and my account was deactivated by them.Reached to customer support with another email to follow up what happened to my account and cash back. I have attached the Sonos order receipt.
if you check on your system, order date will be matched on Befrugal.
also if Sonos didn't confirm the order receive (clearly which is not correct), why Befrugal would reflect the payable cash back amount after 3 months?
and deactivated my account when I requested for payout by giving me an excuse.
there would be multiple attempt orders showing on Befrugal evnthough there is only one time order due to Sonos didn't accept cardholder and delivery address mismatch and made a successful payment while I was on the phone with their customer support.

I went through all steps that a customer should had gone through. I submitted the trouble ticket immediately when cashback was not seen when the purchase was made. All documents were provided per request from BeFrugal, and I checked time and time again. How is it my fault if BeFrugal doesn't perform due diligence and keeps trouble tickets open for years? It appears that BeFrugal standard practice is do bare minimum and just wait out for the vendor to no longer be an affiliate.

Regarding the ******* purchase from 8/5/2022, order #***********, BeFrugal opened and investigated this Cash Back discrepancy on your behalf. We followed up with the retailer but the retailer failed to confirm the cash back as well as terminating their ******* affiliate program. As such there was no cash back paid out on the ******* purchase. BeFrugal has not received any commission or cash back from the sale referenced as such there is no cash back earned.

I used this cashback extension on a purchase through merchant hat club on 2/10/24 and I have not received any cashback and its still under investigation nearly a year later. BeFrugal submitted an inquiry with the retailer on January 22, 2025 and February 20, 2024 in regards to the ******** sales mentioned.
In general, we advise that inquiries can take around ***** days to resolve. This is just a guideline, however. Some stores may respond quicker while others may take additional time.

Ok, but I reached out to BeFrugal and **** told me its still under investigation even though its been nearly a year already. I asked him about reaching out to hat club itself and he wasnt that helpful and told me a marketing program side of hat club is in charge of validating my sale but he would not provide me their contact info. I dont think BeFrugal is doing enough to reach out to them and it feels like I am just walking around in circles.

I used Befrugal extension and ordered from ***. I received a notification from Befrugal while checking out that my cash back would be $17. 64. After a few days, I did not receive the cash back amount. I e-mailed Befrugal and after a couple weeks I got a e-mail from Befrugal adding I did not qualify for the cash back because I used another extension. BeFrugal submitted an inquiry with *** on November 18, 2024. The response provided to us from the retailer was that the investigation was denied. As a result of the investigation being denied, no cash back was earned on the sale.
Cash Back is based on commissions BeFrugal receives from the store. If BeFrugal does not receive commissions for orders placed directly with the store, we do no pay out cash back.

Hello,
The users cash back payment request was made on 11/30/2022 and a **** gift card was issued on December 1, 2022.
Per the terms of the gift card vendor, the **** Prepaid gift card have a six-month expiration from issuance. Once the card is expired, we do not have any other information in our control. As noted in the cardholder agreement the user received when the card was issued it notes that you will not be able to use the virtual account after the expiration date.
An email reminder regarding the approaching expiration date was sent by BeFrugal to ********* on March 2, 2023.
BeFrugal is unable to restore gift card funds that have already been expired.

I have been using Befrugal for quite a few years and recently my account has been terminated stating customer violation. I have accumulated around $60 in pending cashback, which is legally obtained through my online purchases. Befurgal all of a sudden terminated my account and confiscated my hard earned money. one reason i can think of is i referred my spouse as she also makes most of her purchases online, Befrugal terminated both the accounts. I gone through terms and disclosures but i am not seeing any comment regarding having different account for different person. This activity from Befrugal i feel is stealing our money , i could have gone with different portal as they are more reliable . I am extremely disappointed with BeFrugals recent actions. The Eight rule is a blatant misunderstanding of how we use the platform. We have two separate accountsone for me and one for my spouseand just because I referred eight people does not mean that all eight are directly connected to my account. Ive been using BeFrugal for 8-9 years, and over that time, Ive referred countless friends and family members to the service.
However, this recent experience has made me reconsider my loyalty. After all these years, I can no longer recommend BeFrugal to anyone. There are hundreds of competitors in the market, and none of them have displayed such poor customer service or confusing policies. This experience has been incredibly frustrating, and its disheartening to see a company Ive trusted for so long treat its loyal users this way.

They then banned by account due to "violations of terms and services" which means they pocketed all the money they were paid by the retailers rather than pay it out to me, which they should've. On 11/24/24 I initiated shopping trip *********** and applied a promo code through befrugal to be applied at ***. The shopping trip should have resulted in 10% cashback. On 12/3/24 I submitted ticket QPET-6677 through befrugal because I have not received any cashback. They immediately credited me with the 10%(credited to the shopping trip listed prior) and began an investigation. On 12/17/24 I received a reply stating "We have learned that the investigation was denied." and they rescinded the cashback. A general explanation was given as to why the cashback was not approved but I feel that none of those explanations applied to this shopping trip. I asked befrugal for who their contact at *** was so that I could look into it. They stated the appeal is submitted "via a webform to the *** affiliate program". I asked for contact info and befrugal stated "I do not have any publically available contact information for the *** affiliate program." When I informed befrugal that *** customer service stated "I apologize (name). Once again we cannot see what befrugal said and associated with them. Unfortunately I do not know why it was denied. You would have to contact them directly." and "If it's something they offer, they would have to process it directly." befrugal told me "The full response we received is as follows: 'Rejected - Not tracked in impact'". This is not an acceptable response. When I first submitted my ticket I did inform befrugal that four shopping trips had been created for *** even though I did not create that many. Perhaps befrugal associated the purchase with the incorrect shopping trip but I know that I followed instructs exactly and have screenshots of the creation of my shopping trip showing I clicked through befrugal and applied a promo code(HOLIDAY30) listed on befrugal as well. I think I deserve the 10% cashback for this purchase.Business Response

BeFrugal submitted an inquiry with ***. The response provided to us from the retailer was that the investigation was denied. As a result of the investigation being denied, no cash back was earned on the sale. Cash Back is based on commissions BeFrugal receives from the store. If BeFrugal does not receive commissions for orders placed directly with the store, we do no pay out cash back.These terms are explained on our FAQ page ************************************************** and in our terms and conditions section ************************************************************;
The determination of whether or not the order qualified was in no way decided by BeFrugal.
As QVC had already declined this inquiry, it is not be possible to receive cash back. The store is not paying any commission for this.

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.
I asked someone with befrugal to provide a reference number or invoice number and contact information for the individual/entity that befrugal was in contact with at ***. If I am to find out the reason why this was rejected, it would be appropriate to speak to the one responsible for making the decision. Befrugal never provided me with the reference and contact information.
I performed(to the best of my knowledge) all steps correctly and befrugal showed activation and shopping trips. There does not appear to be a valid reason why befrugal or QVC would deny this cashback.
Please provide contact information and reference numbers for *** or "affiliate agency" so that I may inquire further.
Businesses and Customers should be civil, courteous and polite in their responses to complaints. It is important to remain professional and productive when participating in the BBB complaint process.
