My family home was moved to ******/Liberty Mutual in 2001. In 2004 without any claims the insurance went up 66% in one year! An increase of $1.584 a year with no explanation other that replacement costs. On year! We were forced to sell the home and move the family member to an apartment.Liberty Mutual Group

I am sorry that my poor review of your Safeco company was of concern. However, as I stated, a $1,600 one year increase in the homeowners policy was financial extreme hardship. We had the policy since 2001 with no claims. The family home had to be soldLiberty Mutual Group

1 starI have been repeatedly ignored, given wrong information and now being threatened to cancel my health benefits all because liberty mutual's H.R. department cannot handle their jobs. I've sent checks in the mail and have emails on file from the H.R. department telling me they've canceled and destroyed my check payments because they made mistakes and "it's over paid". Then I send a new check a month ago when I got another invoice and now they're saying they've received no payment and will cancel my health benefits back dated by 2 months. I've also been working with the accommodations department due to a family emergency (and safety issue) I had to move to another state and they've blatantly ignored, disregarded and refused to interview me for over 12 jobs I've been fully qualified to do. I've gone months with no pay. The job market is already awful. I can't even find a part time job muchness full time. The immense amount of stress, burden, emotional duress etc. that this H.R. process and department has put me under has been absolutely awful. As an employee who quite literally shed blood, sweat and tears for this company I am absolutely embarrassed and applied by the H.R. departments handling of this. As someone who was a top performer and saw such pride in my work and part with this company I cannot believe this is how we're treated.Review fromLora M

Liberty Mutual doesn't pay for ANYTHING. In the past when they did not pay for it raining into my kitchen (wasn't from the roof - long story) I asked what they actually do pay for. I was told natural causes like weather "might" be covered. Today I woke up to find a fence destroyed in my yard from very high winds and I was told my deductible was $8,942! I would NEVER have a deductible that high. When I first got this insurance it was about half the cost it is now. I have never had a claim that they accepted (only tried this is the 3rd one in in 9 years). When did the deductible change? If I could rate them lower than 1 star I certainly would. Long overdue to change insurances. This definitely has lit the fire to get that done!Liberty Mutual Group

I was told that insurance would pay 50% of claim after submital of repair quote. The reason for 50% is because his client didn't accept responsibility. When quote was submitted, he claimed claim was denied. Claims adjuster and Liberty Mutual need to reevaluate integrity and morals in business ethics.Liberty Mutual Group

Another insurance company that does not care one single bit about their customers! Big surprise there. They do not protect their customers, offer low-ball offers on total losses that completely ruin peoples lives while the company and CEO's are having record breaking profits yearly. They raise rates every single year when you don't have an accident, citing it is due to others having accidents in your area! Then when you finally do experience a life altering accident, they leave you high and dry!Liberty Mutual Group

Safeco which is part of Liberty Mutal is awful. First their client pulled out in front of me thus hitting me in the side. From the day I filed the claim on their clients insurance the issues began. First off as soon as I call them their question is are you filing with your insurance or is? When you client is at fault this should not be your first response. Then after finding a body shop to repair my vehicle with it a long wait they choose to deny and force me to pay for OEM parts because its not within their liability limits. After that they refuse to pay for diminished value of the vehicle. Not to mention they refuse to answer phone calls or respond to text message threads on their text messaging system. So this is a warning to all of you have an accident and the person that hit you has Liberty Mutal or any of its subsidiary companies dont walk but run to a lawyers office as that will be the only way to recoup any of your losses and from looking at the reviews on BBB with this A- if they are your insurance company change now as it appears they do the same things to their own clients!Liberty Mutual Group

I am terminating my Liberty Mutual auto insurance. They keep jacking up my premium in spite of the fact I have never had a ticket in sixty-plus years of driving. With the same coverage, I am getting the same policy from ********** at more than half the premium. Furthermore last year, when I told some agent that I was widowed, he told me that they would increase my premium. He explained that women do not drive as carefully after the death of their spouse. When I complained, he said I should just be glad I am not a widower because men have a greater increase in their premiums. Apparently, men suffer more from the loss of a wife. I was offended by the increase of my premium but also by the cavalier attitude of the agent. It is also very difficult to get ahold of an agent. Today, in trying to terminate my policy with them. I was looking online the first phone number on my policy was no longer in use. The first 800 number kept dropping so I didn't hear all of the options mentioned by the automated voice.When I call the State Farm number, I don't go through a menu. The call goes immediately to an agent.Thanks for letting me sound off. I only wish I had done this before.Liberty Mutual Group

I have had liability coverage with Liberty Mutual for my small plumbing company (4 employees) for approximately 3 years. During those 3 years we have added a couple employees. Those 2 employees were added less than a year ago. Liberty Mutual decided to audit my company. I knew we had grown(by 2)so I expected to owe them some money. Liberty Mutual sent me a bill for $51,000.. This is a general liability policy that was quoted at $6800/yearly. We immediately disputed the audit results, and they acknowledged that there was a mistake. I paid my accountant to go through the payroll numbers yet again and the numbers we submitted were correct. This time they send us a bill for $11,000. We had already paid 6800 during the audit period, with zero claims, they inform me that going forward our general liability will be 22k/ year. I immediately cancel, dispute the audit once again purchase a new policy with better coverage, through Auto Owners, for $5900/ year. The kicker is, we just got info from Liberty Mutual that they want to audit the Last 4 months before I canceled. Keep in mind we have not had a claim in over 7 years. Ive never dealt with a more unorganized, extortion based company in my life. Very disappointed. Still not resolved as of 2/24/25Liberty Mutual Group

I have had put in a claim since September of *********************************************** March and not a single thing has been done for my claim. I've paid everything out of pocket so far. I have sent dozens of emails and called multiple times and I have yet to hear back. This company has screwed me over on three different claims I've put in. I mean seriously, when does this company hold themselves accountable? You have no problem to withdraw money from my account and then turn around when I need the services, I am ignored. This is absolutely the worse company. Put yourself in my situation, is this fair? I put a claim in in September 2024, it is February 2025 Please make some sense? I have no idea what else to do. My claims adjuster told me last Thursday she will call me back tomorrow, which would of been last Friday. I wish I could give a 0. After this claim, rest assured, I will never deal with you guys again. I been a customer for over 10 years.Liberty Mutual Group

An absolute joke and scam of a company upon joining. I deliberately told the *** that I did not want to add any household members to my plan. Guess what -- they added them onto my plan 4 months later without notice. And also guess what, they've nearly tripled my insurance premium without ANY notification and also without ANY attempt to ***ay me. An absolute joke of a company and should be out of business. I've never had such a poor s*** show of a company with the utmost worst customer service ever. I even filed a complaint with the company and it was rejected so guess what.... I'm down $2K that I shouldn't even have f****** lost in the first place. F*** this place and f*** everyone that supports them. You ever wake up and you see $2.5K taken out of your bank and you can't do anything about it and the company that's supposed to take care of you says "we can't revert this"? This is it.
