      WAS a customer for approx 15 years w car and homeowners insurance. ALWAYS made our payments, NEVER missed. In March, we sent Liberty a check for over 2K for our yearly property insurance. Our insurance would lapse at midnight on April 8th. On April 6th, I saw that our check had still not been processed; therefore I contacted our agent. she called Liberty Mutual, was told our check had not been received or processed. The Liberty ***resentative told our agent to STOP Payment on our check, do a Credit Card or check by phone, and our payment would be processed immediately. This would prevent lapse of coverage. I obliged, received a confirmation number from our insurance agent and then drove to my bank and stopped payment on our check that was "lost in the mail." $30.00 fee to stop payment. On April 10th, I received an email from Liberty Mutual indicating our policy had lapsed due to non payment and was cancelled. I immediately called into Liberty, and after questioning the agent and explaining what transpired previously, she told me because we stopped payment on a check and then made a check by phone payment, it caused a "glitch in their system" which she could not override. WTH??? Called my agent, the agent did a 3way call w Liberty. Our agent told the Liberty *** that she advised us on what to do to ensure no lapse in coverage after speaking to Liberty. This was not the customer's error. *****, from Lib kept stating that this screwed up their system and there was nothing that could be done. Liberty would not rewrite our policy because we had a lapse in coverage of 2 days!!! I told ***** that we were good customers, I didn't give a hoot about their computer system....my husband and I are human beings. How could you not correct this?!!! Thank goodness, we no longer had a mortgage, as this could def put a mortgage w a lender in jeopardy. Thank goodness, we did not have a fire or event that would have destroyed our home. My agent quickly found us a policy with ******.

      Stay away terrible company took 1 year to have pay out only paid have what they were supposed terrible people to deal with I hope the government shuts them down I hear a lot or complaints about them

      Incompetent workers!!!! I got renters insurance for an apartment and had to move to a new apartment within a week. I called and had my policy switched over to the new apartment. For whatever reason I was sent to collections!!! Although my policy was paid in full!!! And to make matters worse they never even switched the insurance over to my new apartment!! For months I went back and forth with Liberty Mutual Insurance and the collection agency before a *** told me problem was taken care of!! Lies!! Now over a year down the road I couldnt even get auto insurance through them because they said Im in collections ?? And to make matters worse, my apartment complex said they were not added to my renters insurance!!! Like how?? They never even added my current apartment complex as additional interest!!! Dealing with this company has been a freaking nightmare!!

      I have been with Liberty Mutual for nine years. Today, I called to see if they could improve my policy, but the agent ignored my request. I have been charged $3,775 to cover my townhome, and I feel like I have been treated as just a number rather than a valuable customer. This is especially frustrating considering that I also have my cars insured with them.

      My car was dented by your policy holder and I was not at fault. For the entire week your agent failed to answer my calls after you all stated to take full responsibility. I've called in multiple times even to other departments but you all failed. I was considering switching to your policy after May, seems like I'll look somewhere else.

      Do not use! Nothing was ever disclosed when starting or canceling our policy that our payments are made a month behind. I'm out almost $900 and all they can say is oh well. They are the worst insurance company I have ever been with.

      They raised my rates $100 when I moved from ******** to ******* ( stated Florida is considered a high risk state) then when I moved back to ******** they stated my coverage was still gonna be the same as if I was still in *******. I said no thank you cancel my policy. They did not cancel my policy and are now trying to bill me for coverage I told them to cancel. I am now having to dispute said charges that they sent to collections! Worst insurance company I have ever dealt with!

      Terrible customer service from their adjusters. If you file a claim with them be prepared to have to take time from work to get any help. Rude, ungracious and plain horrible to deal with. I will hopefully never have to deal with them again.

      Theyre monsters. They legally screwed me out of every ***** they could during a claim. It was brutal. They operate on the very edge of whats legal. At any point theyre one small mistake away from ruining someones life and they couldnt be any more cavalier about it. I understand *****.

      After getting their insurance the rates shortly went up. We called and canceled, switched carriers. The next cycle auto billed us ( after canceling) and have given us the runaround on returning our money, not returning our calls
