I ordered some books last year, and that's it. They automatically signed me up for a subscription membership of some sort. They had been billing my credit card without sending me a monthly invoice, so that I would know about it. My credit card company reversed a few charges, but I coded the remainder incorrectly, so they did not complete the remainder. I am requesting a refund of $16.95 for the following months:8/2023, 9/2023, 10/2023, 11/2023, 12/2023, 1/2024, 2/2024Business Response

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback about our Christianbook Rewards program. We genuinely apologize for any confusion regarding the Christianbook Rewards program and that it wasn't clear to you that you had opted to enroll in the 30-day free trial after completing your purchase. It's important to us that our offerings are clear and beneficial for our customers so we try to send email periodically about your membership status so that you're aware of your active enrollment--we're sorry you missed those.
When you placed your order with us, we presented an offer to receive a rebate on your order. It asked for you to provide your email address and click on the join button and explained that after the 30-day free trial there is a monthly fee of $16.95 for Christianbook Rewards.
We'll make sure that your account has been cancelled and will ensure that you're refunded for any charges that were posted to your account for your ********************** Rewards membership.
Please know that your concerns will be shared with the right team for further evaluation. We deeply appreciate your trust in us, and we are committed to ensuring a better experience for you in the future.Initial Complaint

Last month we ordered 2 books from Christian ****** We were told that if we signed up for the rewards program there would be a discount. We were not told there would be a charge for the rewards program. This month we received a bill for the rewards program. When I called about it the lady said that it would be a monthly fee but she could not find an account for us. I said we must have one because we were being charged. She then wanted my complete credit card information which I will not give.Business Response

I ordered a product from Christian **** distributors June 2024 and have received it but, unknown to me they signed me up for a program called Christian **** rewards for ***** a month. I want a refund of *****. they charged me ***** a month later July 2024. I tried contacting them online and no response but to send an email to ************************************************ but they did not accept my email. There is no way on their site at Christian **** distributors to cancel from said program. I have had no issues in the past from ordering from them in the future I will think twice before I order from them again.Business Response

Over the course of my purchases of Bibles and greeting cards for my network of people, I was shocked to discover that from June 30, 2023, until May 24, 2024, Christianbooks .com had made twelve ( 12) unauthorized deductions of $ ***** each, totaling $ ******, from my bank account. This has caused significant inconvenience and distress. So, unbeknownst to me, they used my bank account against me after greeting card purchases and extracted a steady monthly amount under a recurring debit card, calling the fraud ChristianBook Rewards. When my wife caught the misdeed, rather than refund my account the same $179. 40, they offered me a check for $6.39 called Premier Merchant Cash Rebate, which they mailed **** have not cashed the check because they owe me the entire amount of money they took out without authorization.Business Response

I made a purchase in April and upon that purchased was signed up for a rewards program that I was not informed I joined. I did not know until I was charged a fee of ***** that I was even signed up. Unfortunately, I did not realize until two months later when I had already been charged twice. When I realized, I called and they canceled my subscription but when I asked how I got signed up, I was informed it was in my email. I asked her how long I had been a member and when it had signed me up. She said April, which was close to when I made the only purchase that I was aware of. I told her I was never informed that I was being charged and she said it was in the email, the email that I cannot find and never remember reading anywhere that I was signed up for any rewards that I was going to be charged for. I went online to make a purchase to make sure I hadnt missed something and accidentally signed up. Throughout the whole process of making a purchase, there is no indication that you are signing up for rewards or that you will be charged. Through this whole process I was never emailed anything indicating that my free trial was ending and I was going to be charged it is extremely deceptive and on top of that, when I called and was kindly trying to figure out what was going on, the woman was extremely rude. She stopped answering my questions of why I was charged an amount that I was never informed of and instead stayed silent or kept asking is there anything else I can help you with? It was poor costumer service and I will not be purchasing from this company again. Because I was not informed of the subscription and due to the poor costumer service, I am requesting a full refund of two months equalling the total of *****. Thank you for your time and dedication to the company.Business Response

In December of 2023, I ordered a few books for my nieces and nephew. Unbeknownst to me, I was signed for a rewards program without my knowledge or clearly not informed. I caught the re- occurring charge of ***** per month in May of 2024. I called twice and they said they would cancel the program but refused to give me a refund. I am requesting the ***** x 6 months.Business Response

Purchased a book from Christanbook.com. received a charge of $16.95 one month later from christanbookrewards.com. Nowhere did I sign up for this, i even went back through the order process and never found an opt-out or in option, never received any information that i signed up for this. They have my information and should have emailed me a welcome email explaining that I signed up for monthly service at $16.95 per month ($203.40 per year).Luke 19:1-10, I believe verse 8 applies. In September/October 2023 I purchased from this website and got seemingly signed up for a membership program without my knowledge. It wasn't until this month that I was auditing my records for the last year and noticed the monthly charge of $14.95 per month. This is bogus and I was tricked into signing up for this program. I would like a refund for all membership fees. My member number is ******. Thank you.Business Response
