Geico is absolute garbage. They are not even slightly helpful or friendly when it comes to claims. They totaled out my car when the damage wasnt even slightly bad, and they were not having any other alternatives to other opinions from other body shops or the mention of getting an attorney. If you are looking for good insurance, dont get Geico. They arent even slightly worth it and I cant say enough bad things about them.

Dear Better business bureau,I signed up with GEICO in 2009. I have both auto and motorcycle insurance coverage with them. In May 2025, I filed my first at fault claim with Geico. Long story short I accidentally hit my garage door and my neighbors garage door. I paid $2700 out-of-pocket for the garage door damages. Now as I seek to have my 2025 ***** CRV hybrid damages repaired, Geico has been unprofessionally slow in resolving this claim.I contacted GEICO minimum four times and spoke with various representatives. They are great at passing the blame to repair shops, adjusters net getting proper information, etc. When dealing with Geico, they encourage you to use their app. Their app is not very user-friendly. When you try calling, expect to wait no less than 30 to 40 minutes before they pick up. I dread the thought of having to call Geico.I would estimate I have paid over $20,000 to Geico since I have signed down with them. You would think I would be treated properly. They are very good at collecting my insurance premiums, dragging their feet and always absolving themselves of any fault. What they are not good at is resolving my insurance claim issues. As soon as I get my repairs done and hopefully be reimbursed for my out-of-pocket expenses, its goodbye Geico and hello to any other reputable insurance companies. The ****** learned from this experience is dont fall for their cute animated gecko commercials. After 16 years of loyal premium payments, you would expect more professional service from a company.Signed *** *. Ex-Geico customer from ********

They are the worse company. The adjusters in property damage claims department drop the ball on their own insured's claims and drag the total loss offers over 60 days. they **** in claims department. Do not recommend them to anyone.

Ran my credit without ever even issuing me a quote. When I called to complain, I got the sassiest, most uneducated customer service *** who could barely speak, telling me "uh you prolly jus dint read the website", even though she could verify that no quote was associated with the quote number

They know about your accidents. They will send you marketing information suggesting they want you as a client, but they then reject you.

My wife called to re-start our policy. After misspeaking, the representative refused to not have her sign up for a commercial policy. After 90 minutes of being bullied we are still without car insurance. Avoid at all costs.

Geico, my insurance provider for over six years before relocating to *******, became unaffordable upon moving there. My husband, a veteran, prompted me to give Geico another chance. After purchasing a new vehicle in *******, I contacted Geico and was reinsured through ******* May, Geico requested proof of residency, which I promptly sent over. A total of seven documents were submitted to the underwriting department. Upon logging into the app, I was informed that the issue had been resolved. Assuming everything was in order, I moved on with my life, content that my insurance problems had been resolved. However, upon logging in today, I was shocked to discover that my policy had been canceled. When I spoke to the first representative, he informed me that only my new license was required, which had been denied back on May 13th. I promptly resubmitted it, but he advised me to call back in an hour. After an hour passed, I called again, only to be greeted by a different representative who stated that it might take up to ***** hours for the issue to be resolved. In the meantime, I was advised to find a different insurance company to cover my vehicle. This disheartening response left me feeling frustrated and uncertain. When I requested to speak to a supervisor, I was informed that they will call me within a 24-hour window to do so.

This company is awful. I had to give them at least one star but if I could I would have given them zero stars. After paying almost $900 for car insurance with Geico, they offered no assistance after my car was stolen. They would not file a claim, total my vehicle, or offer a refund for months of car insurance paid for that were rendered meaningless. They said it was not on my policy. How is this car insurance if my policy doesn't cover the vehicle being stolen? Why wouldn't someone have explained to me what I had on my car and what was missing? Why wouldn't someone have said, "this isn't what you need on your car, this policy will be better for your needs"? This is profit-making trickery and terrible customer service. The ********************** has a responsibility to make sure it's customers are informed and to direct them towards the policies that are right for them. This company took advantage of me for the sake of their own profits and refuses to do anything to make up for it.

Denied! That is what you will hear if you file a claim with Geico when animals decide to attack your ** My husband and I pulled our 5th wheel out of storage from its winter hibernation, anxious to get the rv cleaned and ready to use for the season. We soon discovered that racoons ripped chunks of the roof membrane; we were horrified. Taking a deep breath, I said, let's call Geico and tell them what happened and get this fixed! We called, explained what happened, and 3 days later after they told us to send in photos and give a recorded statement we got an answer- DENIED! Like many of those that have insurance and expect things like this to be covered, I was in shock. I spoke with the representative and asked "If my policy doesn't cover animal damage, do you have a policy that does?" Her answer, NO. Geico's ** insurance polices only cover your ** if you hit an animal with it, any other damages caused by any animal (bears, racoons, birds, ALL animals) is not covered. I then mentioned that if I were to start a campfire, let it get out of control, and the ** happens to get caught in the fire and burn to the ground, would I be covered? Her answer, yes, fire is covered. Unbelievable! Something tells me that if I were to file a claim for that, Geico would respond saying, " EXCLUSION" - we have a "Stupid person caught their own ** on fire exemption!" Lesson learned- dropping Geico and will find insurance that will cover damages by animals, we received a quote for over $ ********* to get ours fixed, which will all have to be out of pocket for us. If you currently have Geico as your insurance carrier, I encourage you to call them, verify what I'm telling you, and then find yourself another insurance carrier. No one ever wants a racoon to damage their ** but the last thing you want to hear is DENIED!!!

This is a robbery company. I started a policy on May 17 for $1,312 (6-month term), but the dealership was unable to provide the car. I contacted customer service to delay the start date, and they advised me to cancel and restart the policy. So, I canceled it on May 17.I restarted a new policy on Saturday, June 7, but the price increased significantly to $2,099. This jump seems unreasonable. They just said this increase for risk assessment, not able to change.
