It has been a nightmare. My ************************************* 2021. My billing is automated, so I didn't notice right away. After about six months, I thought it was odd that I was still paying the same amount, even though I hadn't added a new car. I checked my Geico account, and realized that they were still billing me for the legacy, even though they bought it from me. Geico totaled it and paid me for it. I immediately called in, and they assured me that they would take it off of my account. I believed them and let it go, at that. About a year later, I checked my bill, and it was still there. I was still being charged for this car that they bought from me. I called again, and they gave me the same story, "it will take about a week, they will have to send it in for review, etc..." It sounds like a tactic, at this point, and I have to admit, it works. I got busy at work and forgot about it. Now, it's over four years since they bought it from me, and they're still billing me over $100.00 a month for a car that they own. They've taken me for over $5000.00, at this point, and I don't know if I'll ever get it back. I called again, yesterday, and they sure act like they're just going to keep it.Yes, I'm taking time out of my exhausting ***** hour weeks to find a new insurance company.

When adding a user the price did not change $175.00 after 2 months the amount charged was $535.00. When requesting cancellation I was informed that I would have to make a payment of $249.35. I usually pay insurance for coverage if I canceled what is the explanation for this amount.

On May 8, 2025, my fiance was driving our 2014 GMC ****** when she was struck by another vehicle. A police report was completed and the other driver was determined to be at fault. We filed a claim with GEICO who subsequently totaled the vehicle because repairs were $20336.65. GEICO offered $12,288.79 to replace my vehicle. I have subsequently searched for a comparable vehicle, but cannot find anything within the budget allocated. On May 16, 2025, Mr. ***** ******** from GEICO indicated the process for determining the replacement value of a vehicle was to conduct a 50-mile radius search from my zip code (MD - *****). The report GEICO provided, however, lists all three vehicles used for comparison outside the 50-mile range. In fact, two of the vehicles used were located in **** with distances of 337 and 428 miles, respectively. A quick search indicated the cost of living in **** averages 7% less than the cost of living in ******** and 13.7% less than the cost of living in **********, **. I subsequently challenged GEICOs decision to use vehicles from **** to justify the cost to buy a similar vehicle in ********. In response, Mr. ******** sent a text stating I could use my own funds to have additional estimates completed. He has subsequently stopped providing updates and GEICO has removed the documentation supporting my vehicle as totaled. I have heard nothing for 18 days and counting. GEICO also used my $1000.00 deductible during the valuation of the vehicle. My understanding is that a deductible is the amount you agree to pay for repairs or replacement of your vehicle when you file a claim. The approach used by GEICO, however, was to use the deductible to decrease the valuation, which helps to justify paying less. Bottom line is that I am not being treated fairly and am now dealing with the hardship of only having only one vehicle for two working adults and one daughter. My fiance has been to the doctor/urgent care twice because of the accident.

I purchased motorcycle insurance 3/20/2025 and paid in full for one year. I filled out all the forms and signed all documents online via docusign.I later logged into my account and saw a notice that they did not have the required signatures. I called in and they sent me a link to do the docusign again which I completed.Later I received an additional bill which I found out was because they didn't have the signatures. I called again and had the agent stay on the phone while I did the docusign procedure again. Still nothing. They had me do it again and it finally showed up on their end. I was told the billing would be corrected in "a few" days.Later I checked and it had not been corrected. I called again. The agent told me that all 4 docusigns showed up at the same time and it was too late to correct the billing. I talked to a supervisor that told me there was nothing they could do for me so they would escalate the issue and I would receive a call back the following day. They also went through emails they had sent me and saw that I never received any notices about this issue but I did receive billing and login ********** is now over a week later and no return call. I called in today 6/3/2025 and they insulted me and insisted that all the 4 times I signed the form were the same day and it was too late.I find it crazy that I am held responsible for their malfunctioning computer system. Their docusign system clearly has issues and so does their email system.

A family friend temporarily came to live with us. She has a license, but not a car, and we do not allow her to drive our vehicles. GEICO sent us an email stating that she MUST be added to our policy and they will automatically add her in 15 days. We called the number they gave us in the email and were told we had to call during certain business hours to talk to the correct department regarding the issue. There are SO many issues with this. First of all, GEICO has no right to add ANYONE to our policy without our consent. As I stated previously, she does not drive. Secondly, why were we given the number to what is apparently the incorrect department? Thirdly, we CANT call during the time they want us to because we will be out of the country. If this person gets added to our policy, we will absolutely be filing a formal complaint with the BBB and our state attorney general.

I feel harassed by their computer system sending me the same repeat email 3 times in the last hour. It won't let me unsubscribe or opt out. I'm a current customer.

We recently became a GEICO customer because they offered a low rate based on my own and my partners driving record. They required we put an app on our phones that purports to measure how well you drive. However, the app does not distinguish between you driving or someone else driving, so if Im riding in a friends car and checking my emails, the app dings me for using my phone while driving. This means going into the app after every time I am in a car and manually changing the information. I found out that this was necessary after my account was charged $78 in the first month with the app, for unsafe driving. Recently, I drove to a meeting with my phone in my pocket literally did not touch the phone in the car, but I checked the trip and it had dinged me for phone handling. What I find egregious is that the app makes inaccurate assessments but that doesnt prevent GEICO from reaching directly into my account and accessing my money. I tried to talk with customer service after the first charge and they just said Sorry, nothing we can do. Who is regulating these companies?

They take your money on time out of your account every month, but they don’t give you any kind of customer service. This time they’ve left me sitting on the side of the road for three hours canceled two tow trucks for no good reason. I’m still waiting one of their customer service representatives hung up on me. The last time I had to call roadside service nobody ever came and I was on the worst stretch of highway in Northern California Highway four for 12 hours ended up having to walk 8 miles down the highway in the dark with no lighting whatsoever to save myself and they did absolutely nothing. Avoid Geico at all cost.
