I have been with Geico for well over a decade and I learned a couple of days ago that Geico significantly increased my premiums. Mind you, I have never been in an accident that was my fault, nor have I gotten any tickets. My NJ driving abstract record is clean. When i called Geico to inquire about the increase in my premiums, first I wad told that Geico recently increased the premiums on all of their New Jersey customers based off the amount of accident claims Geico alledged they have been receiving. When I questioned Geico why am I being charged for other people's claims and vehicle accidents that did not and does not involve me or my vehicles; Geico then told me that my policy premium increas was based off if I have an accident. How is that even legal for Geico to increase my premiums based off assumptions or what is? So I asked the Geico representative that what if I never get into an accident, but yet Geico increase my premiums on "what if". When I told the representative that I truly believe that Geico increased my premiums as Geico's way of recovery money that Geico paid out for my medical for an accident that was not my fault, and Geico was supposed to help pay for my medical as it's part of my full coverage policy; the representative then stated that my policy premium increased was based off my zip code and the amount of accident in my zip code. I qgain asked the representative what does that have to do with me? What does someone else's driving and accidents within my zip code has to do with me if I was not involved in those accidents? I then reminded the representative that earlier in the conversation she told me that my premium was increased based off the amount of claims Geico received from the customers in the state of NJ, but now she's the representative is telling me that my premium increase is based of my zip code. At that point she was just saying anything and not making any sense. I'm filing a complaint with BBB and to ******. Dated: May 19, 2025

My bill has gone up with in a month of signing up with Geico. It seems dirty. I am disappointed. I spoke with Jasmine on the phone. She likes to talk over you and provided me with wrong information over the phone. She did not make any effort to resolve me questions or complaint about this.

I paid my bill for the entire year and they keep charging my card ontop of the annual rate I already paid. The reason they give me is that my online paperwork was not filled out correctly

Definitely not surprised at this overall rating for Geico. What a joke of a company. After being a loyal customer for 7 years with both auto and home insurance and recently adding a second car to the policy as well, I had the most horrendous experience with them. I loaned my car to a friend for a few weeks who purchased their own insurance to use my car for ***** I also wanted to cover the car under my own insurance - for personal use only. I added the extra driver and filled out all their forms with this information being completely transparent and honest. The next thing I know, I get a letter that they are cancelling my entire policy for both cars. I tried to contact them - according to the message I had on my account to call them if I want to keep my insurance. Every day, I talked to someone new who gave me incorrect information. First, I tried to remove my friend from the policy as I had gotten the car back and was told I would be contacted by underwriting the next day... Called the next day and was told the cancellation would only affect my policy on the one car and not the other... Called again later in the week and was told they were cancelling the policy for both cars and there was nothing I could do. When I spoke to a manager (Hunter ******) today he was the epitome of the condescending guy trying to mansplain things to me rather than making any effort to retain me as a customer. When I asked how I was supposed to know they would cancel my insurance because nowhere in the process did they say that anywhere, he told me they couldn't and didn't have to communicate all of that information and then proceeded to condescendingly read me the cancellation letter they sent me. How does that help me BEFORE the fact?I tried to inquire why they would rather lose a long term loyal customer instead of having transparent practices - he pretty much told me to f off. Guess I'll cancel my home insurance with them too! The obviously don't want to keep customers...

Price gouging company: Much better prices elsewhere. My premium more than doubled over the course of 7 years with GEICO. During that time, I had the same vehicle (which was depreciating in value). I had 0 accidents and 0 tickets, and I passed the ***** years old supposed discount, which I never got. Their excuse for continuing to raise my price every year was that car repairs have gotten more expensive. Well, my property damage coverage hadnt increased so they were just lying to me. Never used the insurance once besides 1 windshield repair, but at this rate not sure if Id trust them to uphold what Id been paying for anyways.

Started an auto/condo policy with Geico. Did everything online, including paying BOTH accounts in full when signing up. I have had nothing but problems since. Fees here, fees there. "You didn't send us_____", me: "I never received the form you are referencing". "Well, that is why the cost went up." Me: finds the form myself online, fills it out, returns it. Still you have to pay the fee. Back and forth and back and forth just to find out GEICO's horrible, inept customer service never explained that they screwed up and had my son listed as away at college, but not with is car. Apparently, that is my fault?? Geico is not clear with it's policies and just keeps eeking up the price. They also have the worst customer service people - not one of which over the past 3 weeks I've been dealing with this had the knowledge to explain their terminology and what the charges were for. Not to mention the repeated. repetitive FORMS!!!!! All for nothing because of course, the cost is more. Save yourself the trouble and DO NOT use Geico! Never again.
