1 starWe stayed at the Comfort Inn in Ellensburg WA and it was totally disgusting. Dirty tub, rusted sink, washing machine provided for guests was dirty, the dryer didn’t work so ended up hanging clothes all over the room to dry. The counter top was made of pressboard and there were bugs on it and the corner of the floor as well as a mouse trap under the counter.
The room stunk! We travelled 15 days across country and this was by far the worst room and the most expensive…$158.00 US and at that “special rate” we did not qualify to earn Choice Privilege points!!! I don’t ever plan on staying in one of their motels ever again so no big loss. We were unfortunately stuck so had no choice but to take the room. I wish I could attach the pictures I took of the room but I’m not computer savvy enough to do so. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!Review fromJacinda L

1 star********** Grand *********************************************** did not have hot water upon arrival and then completely shut the water off for hours the following day. We could not use the toilet or shower. We were not going to be given a refund if we chose not to stay the additional night booked, they only offered 10% off.Review fromLauren B

1 starWhen I arrived to check in the lady working the front desk treated me very poorly. She also told me I couldn't use cash unless all 20s. Having a reservation didn't serve much purpose. A mouse about the size of an avocado explored the floor the last evening. I was then treated with threats and lies when I had a late check out but the employees couldn't bother to check my extra stay. I had to get police involved because my safety was threatened. At no point did their employees treat me kindly or respectfully. I was trying to leave. Their involvement made things take longer. Room was clean, nice shower,Worst stay!Review fromRaymond D

1 starI am a choice reward member and noticed that as I stayed and gained points the amount needed for free stays also increased for a free stay. Even if you try to use part of your points to reduce the cost of your stay it takes half your points and only reduces the cost a very few dollars. Bait and Switch to get people to join and stay. ????Review fromJoei Z

1 starOur room was not cleaning upon arrival took pictures to show reception. Nothing was done when asked repeatedly for someone to come and clean our room so we can stay in it. Left the next day because our room was not clean and was told the next day that we are being charged for two days even though we told them that we were leaving because they could not help us on our request of a clean room or a different room. We asked for a refund they stated no had to be 24 hours but we were physically there and verbally told them what was going on to our room.Review fromJudith S

1 starI think ZERO or -0 is appropriate.
I have been screwed out of more travel points in the past year that I will NEVER stay with Choice hotels again
The last visit I wanted a refund before even accepting a room at the Econolodge in Duluth MN because it was so nasty.
No refund.
I asked the clerk if she had my points information and she responded Yes.
Three terrible nights for an outrageous 496.00 and now there are no points.
Choice cannot locate the reservation number and that is that.
Horrible Horrible I have been using Choice Hotels almost exclusively since 1990's
NEVER AGAINReview fromAlyssa M

1 starCollege Football VIP SCAM. Choice hotels sent out an email offering a VIP college experience with the option to buy more points in order to purchase it. I did this and then proceeded to try to buy the experience(s) which showed AVAILABLE. The whole website didn’t work and I got the spinning wheel of doom for HOURS. Then the following day all but one experience was sold out so I tried to purchase that, only the website wouldn’t let me. I called support, tried different devices. Nothing worked! I’m convinced this was a scam to get people to purchase more points. I just want my money back (they can keep the points) but they refuse to refund me.
Don’t fall for similar promotions.Review fromMiriam T

1 starIn 25 years of hotel stays, Quality Inn in Fort Collins, CO on Mulberty is I've ever seen! It's filthy, unsafe, and completely falsely advertised....in conjunction with unethical business practices!
When I arrived (8/19/23) for my "stay," the room I was assigned looked NOTHING like the pictures portrayed on the website. Appears to be in longterm living with homeless and criminals (passed a man with a knife in the parking lot, and homeless wandering). There is NO SECURITY to the building (as the door where you are supposed to insert your hotel card to access is disarmed and ANYONE FROM THE STREET can come and go).
The carpet in the hallways appeared not to have been vacuumed for months (if ever). There was crushed orange cereal crunched into the carpet. A HORRIBLE odor permeated the halls (of body odor, microwave meals, and mold).
When I finally got to my room, it looked NOTHING like the rooms advertised in the picutures. There was NO CARPET, the room was lined with unplugged lamps and mismatched/beat up furniture that looked like it had been picked up by the side of the road at a "FREE" pile. Furniture had scuffs and marks all over tables, stains on fabric, and was dingy and old. In addition, there was a layer of sticky grime on everything. I inspected the bed/mattress and found BROWN crusted material on mattress (appearing like boogers or bed bugs or both!!!!! yuck yuck yuck). The fire alarm and ceiling had orange spackles all over them (grime or fly dustings?) There was liquid on linolium (urine?). Dust and hair everywhere. Sliding glass door did not look secure.
This was the filthiest, most unclean, unsafe, UNACCEPTABLE hotel!
I went back to the front desk (20 minutes after checking in) to ask for a refund. I was then given the run-around about how it had to be "approved by corporate"...who still hasn't resolved this 6 days later!)
After hours on phone, Choice told me they couldn't refund my card and I can wait another month for a check. UNACCEPTABLEReview fromFelicia G

1 starAs someone else stated if I could give this hotel ZERO stars I would. This is probably the worst hotel chain I've experienced in 40 years of traveling!! Here is just another example of how this corporation throws points at problems experienced at their hotels instead of fixing the problem. Their GM's and management staff are NON-EXISTENT at all locations as well as the CEO of this company!!! Here is an email sent earlier this week and of course NO REPLY WHATSOEVER!
As consumers we have a "choice" where to spend out money and I suggest that we look at other reputable hotels when traveling I know I am! Dear Patrick, A friend/colleague of mine checked into your Cambria - RDU 300 Airgate Drive, Morrisville NC last night around 7:30pm.
When I walked into the lobby of this hotel it looked as if it had been vandalized as everything seemed in shambles!! Next, we encounter approx 10 + young boys kicking a ball around and screaming loudly as if we were in an indoor gyms of sorts. No parents supervising COMPLETE CHAOS! We were told there was a birthday party being held in the lobby and it should quiet down by 9pm. Why is there a kids birthday party being held in the lobby of a hotel? The kiosk was empty where you might find water, snacks, soda etc…..again abandoned looking! People everywhere sitting around for this party!
The bathtub and shower was unusable due the the filth and remains from previous guests!
Lamps torn, chairs soiled, and TV did not have a signal for more than 2 minutes! The thermostat was set on 77 degrees. The hallways were hot and dirty!
When I checked out this morning I was told by Tai the front desk clerk the birthday party “were friends of the hotel owner!” When I ask for a card for the GM it took this young man over 5 minutes to find a card. Actually he gave me the AGM’s card and wrote in the managers name. What hotel does not have business cards for the GM? This is my third stay with Choice Hotels and most likely my last. *Brief description here!!Review fromFelicia G
