In August 2024, we purchased a motor for our half ton 99 Chevy. We have had nothing but trouble with this motor. We contacted Dan in #Warranty and did just as he asked; we spent hours in texts, phone calls, and videos. They sent us a pair of lifters. They were in a Ziploc bag and clearly used, but we tried them anyways. The problems continued, there was more back-and-forth, more phone calls, texts and videos. They sent us another pair of lifters that were in a Ziploc bag clearly used, but we put them in. The problem was not resolved; more phone calls, more back-and-forth,more texts, more videos. We were then sent new lifters in a box with matching lot numbers. We felt perhaps there was hope but no, the truck is still having major issues. Our mechanic would like to try a few different tests, but they have to be approved by Dan in Warranty. They will pay or mechanic $50/hr leaving us with the rest of the hourly wage to cover. We are going to owe a lot of money but the time this is over with. This has been an incredibly frustrating experience. It is now January 2025 and our truck is not running. We bought this motor in good faith and powertrain products has not lived up to what they advertise or what they say. On their website they state that they have 4.7 stars with ********** but when you go to the ********** website it is actually 3.3 stars . They have not demonstrated trustworthy or responsive business practices.

5.7 hemi had issues since day one. Aftermarket dorman mds solenoids on reman engine. As a professional technician I questioned it from the get go as dorman can be hit or miss. From day 1 dealt with mds issues on both banks of my engine. Attempt to contact and do the repair myself to save both parties money. No reply until a month later when i already dropped vehicle off at a dealer so they could deal with this company. Dealer said it was the pcm. Obviously not covered by P.P. and from my testing pcm was functioning fine. I ok installed since they work on them all the time and I am a Ford Tech. I was then sent a text saying the pcm didn't fix it. (Knew that was coming). Mds solenoids found failing at times. Ok to replace mds solenoids by P.P. Warranty does not cover all of the labor and parts is at cost. I paid over $2000 out of pocket for repairs with less than 1000 miles on the engine and for a pcm i didnt need, but cant prove because there is a core. Engine installed in april/may of 2024 was in the shop for almost 2 months and I still haven't been reimbursed what I'm owed going into 2025. 6 months later and everytime I contact them I get the run around saying it could take up to 3 months to process. What's so hard about sending a check when I've sent all the documentation/receipts ect and already getting screwed paying out of pocket for repairs on an engine with problems from day 1. Buyer beware. I will not be using this company ever again. The Warranty is a scam. May be getting a lawyer involved soon.

Looks like a company that clearly don’t stand by their products. I was finally approved for warranty reimbursement on July 30 and still waiting with excuse after excuse. My problem is minor compared to most other complaints but their warranty department needs a check up., along with quality control.

I am an independent automotive repair shop in Arizona. I purchased reman. engines from powertrainproducts.net for roughly 12 years and had great success with their products... Very few, if any warranty claims.
THEN; KABOOM March 2023 , purchased a remanufactured long block 5.4L ford engine,'
It immediately was a failure,, they warrantied it (took a little while)
Then; the second engine.. KABOOM was junk from the get go..
      Warrantied again..
Then; NOW ON THIRD engine replacement,, This company will not pay the labor claim as stated in their warranty coverage....
SAD to see such a good company take a back seat to integrity..
      thanks, Ken I***,,, **** ********** ****** ***********************

This company is the most dishonest company I have ever dealt with. They sent me a faulty transmission and now wont reimburse me the money that is owed from the so called "warranty". This company owes me $1600, and I have not seen a dime of it. The say they back up their product, but clearly that is not true. Its 8 months later and I am still out the money. How can a company be so dishonest and still in business? They are scamming everyone and should not have a business license and have a piss poor product. There are so many other reviews on here that had a similar experience to me. The poor customer service and warranties they offer are complete lies and unacceptable. I now need to get legal representation to be re-imbursed. What happened to truthful good business owners? Do not trust this company or anyone that works there. I completely regret going through Powertrain Products and will tell everyone I know not to go there as NOBODY deserves to be treated so poorly and scammed out of so much money.

They have sent me a total of two bad motors. The first motor lasted 3 weeks, the second lasted 8 miles. They take months to send a replacement motor. When you ask to speak to management they send you to a blank voicemail. They steal your money. $15,500 spent for the original motor and labor to have the replacement engines installed. Our business has last $20k plus. The engine is in our only carpet cleaning van. We are a carpet cleaning company

This company is a joke… have received 2 faulty long block motors now. Would rather roll around in broke glass than ever have to deal with this company again. They have owed me warranty pay for the last 4-6 months now. After I payed again to replace the first motor the blew up after 15,xxx. They don’t care about you, your time, your money, or there customers service. Genuinely surprised this company is still in business. Pretty sure they’re a scam artist. Will never in a million years Recommend this company to anybody. Warranty process Has taken roughly 9 to 10 months. Still on going to this very moment. Please take your hard earned money some where els this company should no longer be open and operating. SCAM ARTISTS!!!!!!!!!!!!! You owe me money (power train problems) I wish I could leave a worse rating that 1 Star. This company has been a nightmare to deal with they only seem to be around and willing to take your money. I was ill informed before I made my decision to use this company. Please learn from my mistakes, take your business elsewhere to… 2 messed up motors thousands of dollars later and I still can’t get a manager to talk to. I’m not the only one read the other reviews pretty self explanatory. To the owner and operator of power train problems your a crooked business man and deserves to have it taken away from you. The first motor I received blew up on 01/20/24 currently is 11/05/24 this is how long I have been getting the run around from this company and it’s not like I’m getting interest on my money. (Thanks you power train problems for making my life harder than it needs to be I really appreciate it)-sarcasm

Powertrain products is not standing by their warranty. I had to replace a leaking rear seal on my 6R8- Ford transmission. The repair bill with labor was almost $750 dollars. Powertrain insists they have all information they need to process the warranty claim. No reimbursement has been made. It has been over 3 months.
The truth: Powertrain is a reseller of remanufactured engines and transmissions. At least one of the companies they buy their remanufactured equipment is called AER, a large remanufacturing company for powertrains. THIS is the company that actually warranties the products sold by Powertrain Products. Any warranty claims sent to Powertrain actually end up with AER, and AER approves and submits them.
Bottom line: Powertrain Products, Inc., is not being truthful about the sourcing of their remanufactured products for resale, and they are not being truthful about the warranty that is offered by AER. Powertrain purports that it is their company that provides the warranty, but this is simply not true.
      Shame on Powetrain Products, Inc.
I would not recommend this company to anyone.

This company owes us reimbursement for installation costs under warranty. They don't dispute this but they haven't paid us back. It's been 5 months. I see they've been treating a number of their customers this way!
No point in buying a warranty if they won't stand behind it. They sell based on their warranty. So far, can't count on this at all.
