  Had a debt through an apartment which is fine. Went to court and selected for it to be garnished from my check. That was at the beginning of this year. My final payment was made, yet they still garnish my check and keep saying its interest. Spoke to Someone on the phone and they act like they dont know what Im talking about. Terrible company !

  I have no idea but now I am facing license suspension, vehicle suspension and monetary action against me from a law firm that has never served me papers, never received a court date to try to fight or dispute allegations. I tried to call and ask for as much help as possible as I am listed as a co-defendant but they are refusing to even let me know what's in the account or what it's about. My wife has already set up a payment plan with them and we were told everything was okay. I was never notified that I had to sign anything yet that is their excuse for suing me. Again I was never served never had a letter or notice by mail by person or any other means of contact.

You purposefully with-held information... i.e. summons to appear in court (as I was never served.) I was never involved in any accident with your client. You failed to notify me about anything. YET still somehow denying me due process, were able to get a summary judgement. You people are vague, obtuse, and purposefully obfuscate the truth as much as possible to harm poor people.   2015 original judgement-i guess Current garnishment A default judgment was awarded back in 2015 as a failure to appear.However they never were able to serve me any paperwork as it shows in the case notes. I had absolutely no idea what the debt is even for. I have tried several times to get in contact with velo and can not get a response back.

  This company is a debt collector and they are disgustingly predatory. I was served with a summons, which is fine. I then contacted the company to discuss payment options. I was told I was going to be sent a copy of their forms for a payment plan. I never received those forms. Instead, I was served with the same summons a second time and of course I was charged for it.When I called to discuss this and again request the payment plan forms that I had requested, no answers were provided, but I am allegedly being sent another copy of the payment plan forms. We'll see if those ever arrive. I called to talk to a supervisor because I believe it is absolutely unfair that I am paying for two service fees when the second was entirely unnecessary. I was told by the girl who answered the phone that I need to submit a request in writing to even speak to a supervisor. This business is shady at best.

  They filed garnishment at the beginning of the year. I was paying for almost a year until I filed a court order because I was becoming poor and not able to pay my bills the court signed the order and then for 4 months this company stated they never received their court order that was signed by a judge. They told me to reach out to my HR about requiring the funds that were still being taken after the court order was signed in September. HR kept telling me to reach out to them that they kept cashing checks. And now after the debt has been paid and I was only owing $40 they said last time I called. They now have taken half of my state taxes and have paid my debt double and I still haven't received refund. I will be filing another court order as I've already paid this garnishment off. Also have a signed statement from the judge stating I was to make payments in September and they continuously ignored it and continuously took 2 to $300 out of my check every two weeks for almost a year. And now they've taken double the amount which is stealing and robbery. This is completely illegal and I will be filing a court order to retain the funds that I'm owed. As of now they've taken half my state taxes which is almost another $2,000 when I only owed around $4,000 in January of 2024. And I have been paying religiously every two weeks from the garnishment. So it's impossible that I would owe another $2,000 for them to take for my state taxes I've tried calling and reaching out and they just keep telling me to reach out to my HR and HR tells me I need to contact them so it's just going round and round so I'll be filing another court order to retain my funds that were taken illegally.

  I went to pay my rent at the end of October only for it to be declined, when I checked my bank account there was a 1700 hold on my account. I immediately called the bank who told me That the garnishment was placed by ******** (a collection agency) so I immediately called their office to try and work something out in regards of repayment. I was told no that once a garnishment is in place nothing could be done. I had not recieved one single letter, bill, or threat from this company, and I didnt until the day after the hold was placed. I then recieved a note from my bank explaining the hold. Still not a word from Velo Law. I was totally blindsided by every bit of this, and now currently was left with 7.00 in my account. I hadnt paid bills or bought groceries and now I couldnt. When I questioned Velo Laws office on why I hadnt recieved ANYTHING from them, she said they sent me court papers in March 2023 and I missed a court date. I was NEVER served or mailed any court papers! I would never miss a court date if I were made aware of it! So I went to court on Nov. ************************************************************************************************************ 2 weeks the hold on my bank account would be released and that $400 would go back into my account the rest would go to Velo Law for the amount owed. I asked her if I needed to go in front of the judge or back in the court room, She said No, your all done here so I left. As of today 12/13/24 the hold is still on my bank account. I called ********************** and asked why it was still on hold , the only thing she would say was I cant give you legal advice. Then she gave me the owed balance amount which was $100 more than it was when I went to court. So they are still charging me fees when it should be a closed matter. She told me it was due to non payment. I said you have to release my money in order to get a payment, She again said she couldnt give legal advice and hung up. I dont know what to do !

  This law firm keeps contacting me but they won't tell me who they're looking for and why. I have reason to believe that they are looking for my mother who passed away last year. The one time I did speak to someone a few weeks ago and I explained that my mother and I have the same first and last name they gave a middle initial of L, which is me but again I believe they are looking for my mother whose middle initial is J. She had a lot of bills and such when she passed and I've had problems like this before where people try to collect from me and they were actually looking for her. She had even charged some things under my name in the past and I suspect that's also what may have happened. When they called me today and left a message, they couldn't get through because I have their numbers blocked but they can still leave voicemail, I called them back and refused to give them my name because I said I'm not telling you who I am and tell you tell me who you're looking for and why you're calling. They called me a liar and they told me they believed I was the one they were looking for. So I hung up. I know it's not me they're looking for, I'm positive it's my deceased mother. I just want them to leave me alone. I'm disabled and very ill and this needs to stop. I want no further contact with them.

  I am rejecting this response because:

  This complaint is not valid! The original debtor is trying to charge me for an arson cleanup that happened well after I moved out. I still think the original debtor is looking for my mother who died last year. In any event I know that I do not owe them for an arson cleanup and it's not legal to charge a former tenant for such. Also I believe the former landlord has altered the original rental agreement because among other things **** sent me a copy of it and it says no dogs but I had a dog up until 2017 which was originally allowed. Again my biggest issue is the attempt to charge me for an arson cleanup that as I stated, happened well after I moved out. I was told by a licensed attorney that that was not legal. A landlord cannot charge for an arson cleanup... that's on the property owner, not the tenant.
