i paid them in full and have the receipt from where i paid online, they wont confirm my zero balance nor return emails and last check they still had a court date to *** me and my credit file hasnt been updated, i paid in full and want this updated and court date removed. i have set over 20 emails and left voicemails.Business Response

Stenger & Stenger, P.C. is in receipt of your BBB complaint wherein you indicate you have not had confirmation of your zero balance, received response to your emails, and your credit report has not been updated. In response to your emails, the firm attempted to call you on 02/15/2023, however we were unable to reach you. When you made your payment in full on February 1st, 2023, the firm received an overpayment of $16.92 and are currently in the process of refunding the money back to you. In the meantime, the firm has sent a letter stating that your balance is zero and the pending case shall be dismissed. I am rejecting this response because:My Equifax, Experian & TransUnion credit reports continue to reflect an increase in amount owed to Stenger for this said collection account. October is when I made my initial payment of $1,000 and I ATTEMPTED to pay the remaining $1,900 (or so), but have been unable to, hence my complaint. If they choose to identify my account as paid, they need to make it clear to the credit bureaus. Also, if it's showing as paid in full, please send me a form stating this and I can dispute things on my end as well. My address is ************************************************* 85024.

This organization displays unethical collection practices and scare tactics. They threaten garnishment and job loss. Its criminal the way they speak to people. Then, once they receive a judgment against you, they try to extort payment for MORE than what the judge has agreed to. I have paid BOTH of my accounts in full and they have still FAILED TO PROVIDE the satisfaction of judgment paperwork to the courts. This place should be closed and formal harassment charges should be placed on them. I paid my debts, they are responsible for immediately letting the courts know and they have failed to do so. They have also failed to have my credit report updated as paid in full.Business Response

I have a payment plan with LVNV/ *********************************************** and because of inflation had missed some payments. I received a 15 day demand letter and have reached out and have to heard back yet to try to prevent this issue from going into garnishment. The most recent correspondence Stenger & Stenger sent to your address was the notice of garnishment, which may be the document you are referring to. Any document you may have recently received may include costs and post-judgment interest, which may be why you see a different amount. Thank you responding , Im sorry the notice of wage garnishment is what I was referring to. Im not really rejecting the response but am hoping for clarification I filled it out and sent in a money order for 710$ by *** with tracking number and signature required it was received Feb 9 th. I checked my account online and didnt see it was updated yet. I also sent in the copy of the form hoping that i can resume payment plans in lieu of garnishment that were 100$ each month. I have mailed and emailed the company and havent heard back. I usually am at work till 8 everyday. Will they be mailing or emailing me about anything to show they have received these items ? I appreciate your help. Thank you.

I recieved a letter from *********************************************** PC some months back. I emailed initially the following questions Who is the original creditor, and can i see my signature on file with them What was the original amount owed? How much of what you are attempting to collect is fees and interest accrued since they took possession of the debt?When I got no answer I started paying $25.00 here and there when I could afford it.I spoke to my attorney a few months back on another issue and brought this up , he suggested I not pay anymore until they can mail me all the information I requested for in 30 days. Had a process server stop and left a note in door first they told the neighbors all about serving me first before even putting in door. I didnt get any forewarning on this had been making smaller payment anyways finally figured out it was Strenger &Stenger trying to serve so called right away to pay off to stop the serve and they didnt know how to stop the process I have a special needs child that gets upset very easily so I thought paying it off would stop everything. I previously had tried to contact them and had no luck they wont even email you back or email a receipt of payment. Now I am stuck with a process server attempting to serve me and its paid in full. I had a judgement against me years ago/ I was garnished/ in 2019 paid the balance off at that time, I thought the matter was resolved until 2022 my income tax was garnished again, I have been in contact with the company ever month for past 4 months requesting a statement as to what was paid, I also sent a copy of the court filings , via registered mail and i have not received any information, This case was from ****/ I want to settle this matter but no one responds to my calls 4 emails, letters just demands money I paid off years ago. The statement from the courts is confusing / different amounts owed, The clerk at the courts said I should get an attorney, I am asking for correct information / company fails to provide and demands more money without any proof I owe any moneyBusiness Response
