  Called in and tried to settle a debt, but was threatened by the company. The refused to offer a reasonable settlement but just a 5% reduction which is nothing. I tried to make a one time payment that was 40% of the debt which multiple others had taken. For some reason this lawyer is trying to steal your house instead of settling.

Despite this, our records indicate you were able to settle this account the same day in which you filed this complaint, for a discount exceeding the 5% refenced in the complaint. Additionally, on or about June 20, 2023, the firm sent a letter giving you notice regarding the debt. This letter was sent prior to any action taken with the court. Firm has also reviewed all calls made on the file and did not find any evidence of threats.   On 8/29/2023 my banking institution informed me of a lien on my property at ************************ in **********, **. Apon looking up Columbiana County Court records, case #****CVF ******. I found the lien was form a debt that was in fact my sons and the judgment was in Franklin County ************ ,( my son lives in ******** **. ). I contacted my son, he informed me the bill was payed in full on March 31, 2023 and sent me a copie of the wages garnishment through his employer. Regardless of my sons bill, a lein should have never been put on MY property ( my son is not on the property deed, nor has it ever been.) I then contacted the attorney listed on the court order, ******************************* at **********************************. ************ ******** . He refused to correct his mistake, he apparently did not do his due diligence , and despite the bill is paid in full, the lien is still on my property.

  Regardless of the payment situation,  the bill was not mine and , a lein should have never been put on my  property  and it needs to be remover yesterday!! Do your job the next time you invoke a lein on someones property

  On Sept 1st I found out my check was being garnished for 25% for a judgment I was never informed about. When I called to get information and options to settle everyone I spoke to was rude and not helpful at all. One woman even told me I could pay half the balance at that time to have it removed and she repeated it multiple times. I was upset due to being a single mother and making so little that after the garnishment I was left with less than enough for my rent and utilities. My check was also less than half of the balance. I called back Tuesday Sept 5th with family assistance to pay the half of the balance to have it removed and was told no I had to pay half and then set up a payment plan so the other lied because she never once said anything about a payment plan or anything else other than paying half to have it removed. I therefore ended up having to pay the full amount and will still probably be garnished one more time because it takes them 7 to 10 business days to even issue the release of garnishment and that's the whole pay period. And then I'll have to wait to get it refunded through the courts. These businesses don't try to help anyone. The lady i made the payment to was the only nice and helpful one out of the group of them but it's ridiculous they don't care if families are starving or losing homes or any such effects in these situations even when the person is trying to settle and work with them. The woman i talked to on Tues is the only one I would even consider trying to settle with the others were so cold and liars.

  8-8-23 We made no purchase whatsoever from them. Never have heard of the company of anything and I come home one day and check my phone only to find out they have taken 54 dollars out of my bank account. There is no reason a debt company should be messing with a minors bank account.

  I received a notice from these people about a debt in November 2022, set up a payment plan, and completed that payment plan. I have the paperwork stating it was completed from this firm. I have receipts from their online payment portal and my bank where the payments cleared. In August 2023, I received a court summon from my county stating that they were suing me for "Unliquidated Damages" because they never received payment. I have tried for days to get in touch with this firm, with no avail.

  I mailed a bank ck to stenger on 4/7 for the full amount noted on court documents shortly after they were received. They mailed the bank ck back wanting me to endorse it. (The back ck is endorsed by the bank). There was no place for me to sign so I endorsed the back and resent it. Now they claim they did not get it back. Are charging me interest and will not let me speak to the attorney that is signing the statements they are sending me. I want a atty to contact me and the interest to stop until the bank can reissue the bank check since it was their ignorance that caused this problem. The bank can reissue it mid month (Aug) but if I send the *** they will still garnish for the interest that should not be owed. I do not want to resubmit *** until I know they are not charging interest that I do not owe! I want to speak with the atty

  I called Stenger and Stenger after I was notified about being taken to court over an LVNV account. I attempted to reach out to the attorneys for a settlement, however after no response I called the Stenger and Stenger phone line. I spoke with a representative who told me we could avoid a judgment if I agree to pay off the debt in 3 large payments. This would ensure I did not have to pay any legal fees. I agreed and set up the payment plan. A couple weeks later I am notified that Stenger and Stenger went to the court and submitted paperwork for a default judgment. I did not file anything with the court because of our agreement. They granted the default judgment after the phone call I gave them setting up the agreement. I called them and they would not let me edit the payment.plan at all stating I had to abide by our agreement. I explained I agreed based on them not giving me a judgment which they did any way. Stenger and stenger did not uphold their end of the agreement. They also did not submit our agreement to the court. I make $13 an hour and work part time. The rep threatened garnishment which would actually be a lot less than the payment plan. All I am asking for is to cancel the attorney fees I was told I didn't have to pay by setting up the payment plan over a 3 month period and dismissing the judgment. I have called previously about this complaint and have received no resolution. If I am to go by the agreement, so is Stenger and Stenger responsible for their part of the agreement.   This company represented another company in court against me. I tried to set up a payment arrangement with them. The arrangement was set, I have proof of this but they never tried to pull the funds from my account. They are now threatening to take me to court to garnish my wages. *** already made an arrangement that they did not uphold on their end. I just want people to know how dirty this company is. They will pretend to work with you and then threaten you later. They wanted payment so bad but never tried to pull it from my account. Thats not my fault. Thats theirs. They should not be trying to further collect from me when it was their mistake not collecting on the previous arrangement.
