I Signed a contract with great expressions dental on 08/06/2020 for my daughter braces. The contracted amount was $4410 which half was patient responsibility and other was insurance. $2205 was my portion to pay. $200 was my initial payment that was paid to start treatment which left my balance to $2005.00 16 payments @$118 and one final payment of $770.Is what document stated not realizing at the moment it was already over. Now, lets do the math 118x16= $1888 now 1888+770=$2658 now adding my $200 initial payment which will bring it to'$2858. The contracted price for me was only $2205 and contract I signed stated just that. Fast forward my balance been paid off over a year already. I have documents stating its zero balance, now when its time for removal of my daughter braces they are not removing them because they stated $542 needs to be paid before they remove them off and insurance is stating that we have met our **** I called great expressions on 3/8/2023 with insurance on the line and they explained to ***** that's with orthodontic department that Great expressions haven't submitted claims to them for ****** in a while and that we have no *** benefit limit and that the patient paid their portion and they cannot just transfer insurance responsibility to patient. ***** stated that she would send account for audit but this is the issue; audits were done numerous of times for this same reason which I thought was resolved up until time for removal of braces. Great expressions is refusing treatment to my daughter ****** and she's suffering a lot because the wire is cutting inside her mouth. To sum it all up I paid patient portion in full based on contract agreement, now great expressions is stating I owe them more money. The insurance company was never billed for claims and my daughter cant get her braces removed because of great expressions is trying to balance bill. In the mean time my daughter ****** is suffering.Initial Complaint

This office has a very high turnover. I got my braces put on October of 2020. They constantly cancel appointments. I have been very understanding until now. I had an appointment on 10/21/23 the office called two hours before the appointment to cancel. They then rescheduled for the following day 10/22/23. I was THEN CALLED AGAIN 1 hour before my appointment stating that the system is down. I have gotten no call back or anything. I have tried to contact them SEVERAL times. No answer I have left several messages, no answer. I even went into the office. NO ONE was in the front. I waited a while and left. They removed my top wire earlier in the month. Therefore my money that I have paid is being wasted. My teeth are shifting. I have paid over $4000 out of pocket and have paid in full. I have NEVER cancelled an appointment. And now I cant get a call back or reschedule. I have taken off of work BOTH times. This is extremely inconvenient!!!!Initial Complaint

I have been trying since 1/18/23 to get answers to my issue. I called the customer service #************ & can never get through. I have sent numerous emails to *********************** & get no place. You all sent me a letter last year about a credit of $56. I called to clarify my address & expected a check to be sent. In January when I did not receive I called again. I was told there was no credit. Next time I was told they would mail the check. The next time I checked (all with ***********************) she said it was turned over to state treasury. Several stories from the same person via email. *********** treasury doesnt have anything. I emailed her again requesting the tax id#, name it was sent to them under (my child or mine), exact amount and date. This was sent on 2/7. On 2/14, sent another email. Her response is "finance is pulling info". Sent another email on2/17, to date no response. This is not okay and someone should be able to get the CORRECT answers quicker than 30 BUSINESS DAYS!!!! Who can help me? The phone number listed as their corporate office is another location and noone there is able to assist in any concerns.Initial Complaint

I had a debt in collections from Great Expressions Dental center. The debt was a total of $2000. This amount was garnished from my 2020 tax return. I checked my credit report and saw that my entire 2022 state return was garnished again from the same debt that was paid off in March of 2021. I was charged twice for the same debt. It's a fraudulent charge and I know that I'm not the first person that this has happened to. I scheduled an appointment 3 months in advance to see this dentist. The day before the appointment, they told me that they would have to cancel and reschedule because she was going on vacation. I asked to get in the following week and they said the best they could do was another 3 months out. I was contacted a week ago about my appointment today asking if I could come earlier and I told them I couldn't, but that said it was okay. I was called this morning and told the dentist leaves at the time of my appointment and wasn't going to be able to make it. I asked to speak to the dentist and they said she wouldn't. 6 months waiting for an appointment and this is what I get. It sounds like a pattern with this business and they should be shut down for fraud.Initial Complaint

On December 27th of 2022. I had to have Dental work done and have to remove my teeth. Upon arrival at the ************** I was not greeted properly and felt extremely nervous. The fear of having to remove all my teeth is a big hit to your self esteem. I was called to a room where and I felt very uncomfortable being left alone. I just closed my eye and tried to relax. A few min later 3/4 people entered the room and said here are some shades and they was going to give me gas and start numbing my mouth. The people in the room start talking about their personal life, they all start laughing joking around. Meanwhile I cant talk and feeling very dizzy and Nauseated. But no one is asking me how Im feeling or how Im doing. As the doctor was removing my teeth 1 person said its like playing the crocodile game The teeth come out just like butter. At that point I became livid. First of all why is there so many people in the room second who is this person making fun of me/comparing me to a game or an animal? My nerves where shot. I heard them making fun of me and I was so embarrassed I want to crawl under the chair. After the teeth are pulled I was told to get up to go take an x-ray, no one assisted me and I felt like I was gonna fall on the floor. I had to grab onto the chair and the person just kept walking. This place is very unprofessional. I feel as if they Just want my money and dont take no pride in their work.The reason why I went to great expressions was because my daughter works for the pediatrics on ******** in ***** and I thought I would be in good hands I didnt understand why there was so many people in the room while I was having my procedure done. And on top of it all making jokes. This is a very expensive procedure and I thought that this office was going to be a great experience on the other hand it was the worst experience Ive ever had I wish I can get my money back and go somewhere else at this point I have an appointment on 1/10/23 might cancelInitial Complaint

The billing ***** Was contacted about my bill. They say I owed them ******. My insurance company said they never billed them. I told the billing person and had a three way call with my insurance Co. Great Expressions continued to charge my credit card even after there was no longer a balance. When I contacted the dentist office, they stopped the charges and requested a refund for me (which theyve done three times) but their corporate office keeps putting them off. The amount is over $1,500. Ive attempted to call their central billing line but was on hold for 2.5 hours and then at their 4:30 closing time, was asked to put in my number for a call back which never came. Charged a "deposit" for $60 for oral surgery. Called and cancelled a couple of days prior to the appointment because I decided to use my old dentist who I knew would do a good job. My daughter had an appointment to start treatment at 730 they say it will take 90 min at 2 and half hours later they call me to the back Im shocked i do not see the dentist we had the consultation with its a new dentist and she tells me instead of coming back in 6 weeks come in 4 weeks as 4 brackets came off! At this point Im upset Im spending thousands of dollars and you want me to leave and its not done right! The dentist explains the assistant is new training etc which is not acceptable for starters this isnt the dentist i wanted and then we are there for 3 hours and she says if the brackets come off just give us a call this is very frustrating as my money was taken up front didnt discuss the new dentist then you have the nerve to expect us to leave and the treatment isnt complete
