This bank is literally stealing money out in the open from customers. Will not let you pay down balances to zero; they keep a certain amount in your account to collect interest off of you. If you want to pay down to zero; there is a $30 fee to request a statement to make this possible. Electronic copies for this statement are $30, but **** are free. Is this ethical for them to further accrue interest on your balance? With the amount of HELOC and real estate transactions we utilize, once this balance is paid off, we will be closing our accounts, and speaking to our intermediaries about no longer using this bank for their other customers. We will also be following up with FDIC with a formal complaint. Beware; this is a shady business.Flagstar Bank

Wish there was a zero star rating! Worst customer service I've ever encountered! We will NEVER do business with Flagstar again and will be pursuing moving our current loan ASAP! We've just experienced the most ******** run around for providing proof of insurance (which we've had all along) and the whole thing seemed like a scam to provide, what is likely an affiliate company, overpriced business!! Your company should be ashamed to do business like this! Whether your insurance confirmation ***** is actually in house or a 3rd party company the interaction is horrible and the communication between you all and that vendor is clearly non-existent! Bad business choices passed along to the customer. Just terrible!Flagstar Bank

This company took over my mortgage around September, sending a letter telling me NOT to make my payment until Sep 6, AFTER the due date. After that time I attempted to make a test payment, which they rejected and returned. I received an email in response to that rejection saying they made a mistake and it was now remedied, and that the error will delay them taking any action on my newly transferred account with them for 30 more days, for a total of 90 days. Despite that, they continue to contact me by phone as though I'm a delinquent, now sending me letters threatening to take action. YOU HAVE MY PAYMENTS NOW. I have never been delinquent on a mortgage payment in the entire mortgage's history - s**** you guys 1,000%.This transition has been managed so poorly that I have no faith in this company at all. Further, the way they have handled me is not at all in line with their stated values here: ********************************************************************************************************* Here is an excerpt with no truth to it: ----------------TRUST We know our customers want substancenot lip service. I received a threatening letter from this mortgage company accusing me of not have a home insurance policy when we in fact do. The threat was that they would find insurance for ** and charge us whatever coverage they get. There was no timeline or due date in the letter of when proper documentation needs to be provided and at first glance there were no details on how to provide this other than mailing which would take who know how long.It seems, Flagstar doesn't have the capability to check that insurance was maintained and requires the customer to load a declaration document to a random third party. My expectation now is that every year I need to remember to submit a document to a random website or mail in to them and pray that they get it? Every other bank I have dealt with in the past has had process to validate that insurance coverage with ******************* this is poor service from a bank I didn't choose to bank with in the first place. Our mortgage was sold to this bank from our initial lendor.Would not recommend using this company intentionally and you should pray that you don't have your mortgage purchased by them and receive their "servicing" on you loanFlagstar Bank

Flagstar refuses to generate an amortization schedule or allow you to download one yourself online unless you pay a fee. Every other mortgage company I have dealt with for 30 years will do this at no charge.Flagstar Bank

This bank is run by a bunch of stupid scumbags.I had my bank sending out my payments 2x a month. At the end of last year, my bank sent the payment a few days early due to the holiday season. These a-holes took that last payment and applied it to the principle instead of towards the the Jan payment. They then proceed to call me and tell me I'm late. My payments were sent automatically so I know that wasn't possible. After a little digging, I realized what had happened. When I informed them of THIER mistake, they told me they would escalate it and fix it. 2 weeks go by and I get another call looking for the missing payment. I once again explain the situation, they look up my file and agree with the issue. Another 2 weeks later, I get ANOTHER call still asking for the payment. This goes on for 3 months at which point I'm told that after 90 days, they can no longer make changes and they only way to resolve the issue is by ME sending them the extra payment. So now I have to bail out the bank for their stupid mistake and refusal to actually help. I'm currently trying to secure a new loan so I can get as far away from this bank as possible. I'd rather pay 2x the interest rate to someone else than to give them any more interest. F*** Flagstar Bank! They deserve a -5 star review!Flagstar Bank

In July 2023 i applied for a mortgage modification due to a temporary hardship. On August 19th a representative reached out to me and informed me that my mortgage modification trial had been approved and the payments would begin on October 1st 2023. I was instructed that I didn't have to make August or September payment and that it wouldn't negatively impact my credit. On August 30th I called back in just to verify that I didn't need to make a payment and that it wouldn't impact my credit and i was assured that I didn't need to make a payment and that it wouldn't negatively impact my credit. This was extremely important to me because at the time i wasn't even 30 days late on my payments. During the first week of September I got a large decrease in my credit score because my payment for August was reported late. Despite the both call on 8/19 & 8/30 being recorded with proof i was advised wrong nothing has been done to fix the issue. Since then I have had several other conversation with reps here and have been told something different each time. I was told September shouldn't be reported late because it would now reflect that and active trial is in place. I called back on 10/2/23 and was told that that wasn't true it would still be reported late and that they should have gave me more options to avoid this since I was never even 30 days late. If I would have been informed properly about the short term hardship I could have made other arrangements to borrow money to make sure August payment was made on time. Since I've been ill advised my wife and I credit has been terrible impacted and there are other things we can't do in case of emergency from miss information given by your trained reps and all of this is on a recorded line. Flagstar has been neglecting to pay my home insurance for over a month, resulting in the insurance company canceling my policy. I've called Flagstar 1-2 times every week to get this resolved and each time promise an overnight payment and it never gets done. Furthermore, each time I tried to escalate to a manager they were "too busy". This is the most unprofessional, negligent and deceitful company I've ever dealt with.Flagstar Bank

Flagstar has just recently purchased my mortgage. They have failed to pay my homeowners Insurance on due date which is escrowed every month, now my homeowners insurance has expired and Im sure will cause all sorts of fees and additional problems in future. They assured me twice that check was mailed on Sept 6th it is now Sept 23rd and now has been cancelled.Flagstar Bank
