      Ive had the absolute worst experience with Flagstar setting up a HELOC. The review process was way more drawn out than it needed to be. But after it was approved is when the nightmares began. Every time I think autopay is set up there is some issue. The customer service phone tree is awful. The people are nice but nobody seems to know how to help and they transfer you minimum 4 times every time. I have spent easily 20 hours on the phone in the past 2 months. The back and forth is incredibly frustrating. Ive come to hate working with this bank so badly. I REALLY REALLY wish I never would have started with them.

      They lose checks and don't post them even when they are sent to the proper place. This seems to happen whenever you put in more than a few $1000. I got a call from somebody named ********* at, asking me why there was so much money going in-and-out of my account. I have less than $10000 in there. I thought banks were a place where your money is safe, but maybe I should think twice about this bank. Not recommended

      Incredibly frustrating trying to get money out.. I wanted a withdrawl on the 14th, just under the 10k limit. I put in the reqest on the 8th, almost a week before. On the 14th I get an email from someone at the bank with a different phone number. Spam/Phishing?? 8 minutes wasted on verification of the #. Next call the number, they drop the call. Then I call back, a second ***** minute wait (~30 minutes so far). Next they want to call me back, another 3 minute wait. The final frustration is they want me to answer 4 questions, three of which dealt with rental properties and addresses I owned about 10 years ago. Obviously failed that one without my computer with me. They call back in an hour when I got home, and I pass that test. They say the $$ will be transferred, but turns out, NOT on the 14th, but on the 17th (a 3 day wait that will possibly make me be late for a credit card payment). They also tell me there is a limit to what I can withdrawal each month (higher than what 97% would probably need); but not enough to close on a house in 30 days. I'm sure this is all in the fine print; but WHY couldn't they send the email, or include a pop-up, the day I put in for the transfer, telling me these steps?Currently in the process of moving my $$ out to another bank than is less restrictive in looking out for me (Ha Ha); and pays *****% more interest. HOPEFULLY one of the bank MBA's will read this about their policies.

      This is the worst company EVER. They miscalculated our escrow payments for over a year and never bothered to call or explain they paid taxes and insurance with not enough money in the account. It could have been resolved when it happened. Now they say we are negative 7k+ in escrow and want to more than double our payment. When I called, the lady said, "this actually happens a lot with new builds" ARE YOU SERIOUS??! You know there is a problem, but don't try to resolve it?! I asked why no one contacted me when there was no money in escrow to pay taxes and she said, we sent a letter. I asked for proof, never got it. Why give them your telephone number if they won't use it? None of this seems legal. This company shouldn't be allowed to be in business.

      In the last twelve months, Flagstar has ruined my credit rating because they pulled our AUTOMATIC payment late. How is this even allowed?

      This bank is the worst I have ever dealt with. Every since my mortgage was sold to this bank, they keep coming up with escrow shortages that they cannot explain and when pressed about it all they can say is will send you an escrow analysis, but you can not get answers from anyone. I would not recommend them to anyone for any reason at all. I am not pleased with how my account is being managed.

      I ONLY selected 1 star because I had to. It has been an awful and very frustrating experience with Flagstar Bank since my account was transferred in May. I have NEVER had issues with other banks. Representatives and including managers/ Supervisors have promised to resolve my issue on my account and here I am 6 months later with the same issue. Not only that but the issue has become bigger and can no longer make payments electronically or over the phone. I have been charged with fees for thier mistakes. Please don't use this bank very few representatives and managers know what they are doing and saying. I consider to be a good customer. I pay all my bills on time and credit is great. I am considering taking my account elsewhere even if I get a higher interest just to not have to deal with this and possibly damage my credit. Save your time and stress GO ELSEWHERE.

      Every time I deposit cash in to my account there is an issue. I just received a phone call from the teller stating that her drawer is short $20 bucks and that she was in the process of changing my deposit amount without my permission. This is not the first time something like this has happened. Usually they take my money into a different room to count it and come back saying my deposit amount is not accurate. Im a server and am great with cash. I do not appreciate them changing anything on my account without permission. That is fraud as far as I am concerned. I hope this does not fall on deaf ears. Even though this bank is the most convenient, I will never be back and am considering closing my accounts and taking my business elsewhere.

      Terrible customer service. Horrible to get anything done with. I have been trying to remove PMI for months. I keep submitting the forms and getting excuses as to why they wont removed it. Last I spoke to someone they said fill out the form and send it. Said I would need an appraisal to remove. Never did they say I needed to send a check with the form for the appraisal which I would have happily done. No now I get another denial saying they need a check and it will take an additional ***** days. This is ridiculous since its already been months! I get it they want more money and dont want to remove PMI. But I have every right to remove it snd dont appreciate jumping through the hoops and having useless people on the phone. Ridiculous

      Flagstar Mortgage is horrible! Horrible customer service, even management in customer service is horrible. Condesending, "it's your issue, not ours" attitude when trying to get resolution on your mortgage account issues. Would never do mortgage business with them again!
