Rasmussen University has demonstrated a lack of ethical behavior towards its students. They display unfairness and prejudice in their actions. One major issue is their refusal to allow students to retake exams, even though this policy is not clearly stated in the student handbook. Furthermore, the exams themselves contain incorrect answers, leaving students confused and without proper guidance. When students try to address these concerns, they are met with ignorance and their voices go unheard. Additionally, some professors neglect to provide necessary study materials, such as PowerPoint presentations, in the classroom. An incident involving a professor incorrectly providing a temperature for a simulation and dismissing it as dyslexia is particularly offensive, especially for students like myself who have learning disabilities. Rasmussen University also has an alarmingly low passing rate in each class, and unfortunately, there is a lack of support available for struggling students.Business Response

I have been in enrolled in the *** program for the past few months.I am recently faced with a challenge, this complaint is in regards to the lack of response to my inquiries and what appears to be deliberate failure to address my academic performance fairly. I also must express my distress regarding what I perceive as biased grading practices. I feel as if they are purposely failing their students so that the school can earn more money, the school is so expensive to attend and has no accreditation so transferring is not much of an option. I have reached out via email and personal phones to multiple school officials, with no response. During these last few weeks of the quarter I suffered a miscarriage which affected me both physically and mentally, I tried to explain to the teacher that I was going through a sensitive situation ,but of course they don't care. I am faced with being dismissed from the program over not even a whole point . I don't think that's fair given my circumstances. These Nurses that's running the school knows how negatively stressful events such as mine can impact ones ability to focus. I want a fair chance at moving forward. I want a reassessment of my final grade.Business Response

This facility is not what it seems it should be investigated and believe me I will do every power that it does. Noone ever there to answer your questions . No one ever gets back to you on anything regarding anything. This school a scam you go into it the advisor tell you what you want to hear and that it just to get your money. They up there prices but there education isn't worth there prices not to mention they have you buy books online wise just so the teachers don't even use what in the books. Do your self a favor don't do any online classes here with them of any sort . Honestly there not even worth it there not accredited in most states.Business Response

It brings me great sadness that I must submit this complaint, because staff had treated me with kindness & helped me every step of the way. I really enjoyed my time here. I would have reviewed them with nothing but positivity if it werent for the ridiculous sum of money I am obligated to pay them due to misunderstandings, mistakes, delays, & no fault of my own. I was to start classes & saw that my financial aid had not covered any of my owed balance in the portal yet & had an alert. I was reassured that financial aid had just not went through yet, but wouldso I started. Daily, Id log in to see that I owed this school over $3,700. I called with concerns again. This time I was told that it was because I, somewhere along the line, merely clicked self pay by accident & they needed new forms from me & not to worry. Great, I did them. Then one day the portal said that my financial aid [was] reviewed & I had the same balance owed! I called upset & explained I cannot pay this. My husband just lost his job. They explained that upon further investigation I attended another school too close to the quarter I applied there. Financial aid would not be covering anything until next quarter. Understand that I like this school, but would [not] have attended had I known this/anyone made me aware of this. When I applied I told them when I left my last school, they even reviewed my transcripts. I had no choice but to set up a payment plan. I was told I was approved for $100 a month payment plan. One day I tried to make my second payment & the option in the portal was just gone. I then got a call from their collections department. They rudely interrupted me stating, $100 is not enough. The lowest payment we will be able to take is $300 a month. I was horrified. Over $3700 for 2 classes that I would not have attended had I known financial aid wasnt going to cover. I cant afford this. This will hit & destroy my credit which has never had a negative **** against it. I am broken.Business Response

****, the **** of the Aurora campus, faces a troubling situation with her daughter, who is enrolled in the nursing program. The daughter's behavior of boasting about her status as the ****** child and using the resources available to her due to this connection creates a conflict of interest. This can lead to unethical behavior, as it shows favoritism and unfairly advantages her over other students. The daughter's bragging about her privileged position can create tension among her peers, who may feel that she is receiving special treatment or opportunities that they are not. This can disrupt the learning environment and breed resentment within the student body. Moreover, the daughter's access to better resources due to her connection to the **** could potentially lead to cheating. For example, she may have inside information about exams or assignments, or receive preferential treatment when it comes to grades or evaluations. This not only undermines the integrity of the educational institution but also devalues the hard work and dedication of other students who do not have the same advantages. In order to maintain a fair and equitable learning environment, it is crucial for **** to address the situation with her daughter and ensure that all students are treated equally and given the same opportunities to succeed. This may involve setting clear guidelines and boundaries to prevent any conflicts of interest or unethical behavior from occurring.Business Response

I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of concern regarding our Pharmacology class. As students invested in our education and the reputation of our institution, we feel compelled to address a recurring issue that has persisted despite previous attempts at resolution. Recently, a group of students, including myself, sought a private meeting with the **** to discuss our experiences and concerns regarding the teaching methodology employed by our current Pharmacology professor. Regrettably, our efforts to have a constructive dialogue were hindered when the professor in question unexpectedly joined the meeting. Despite our intention for a private discussion with the ****, the professor's ******** inadvertently shifted the dynamic, leading to a situation where our grievances were overshadowed by her own perspectives. It is disheartening to note that this encounter mirrored previous instances where the collective voice of students expressing legitimate concerns about the professor's teaching style and conduct has been overlooked or disregarded. We firmly believe that such recurrent issues warrant serious attention and proactive measures to ensure the quality of education and the well-being of students within our academic community. In light of these circumstances, we respectfully request the opportunity to engage in a discussion with a member of the Board or an appropriate authority above the **** level. We believe that seeking guidance and intervention from higher leadership will provide a platform for transparent communication, constructive feedback, and, ultimately, meaningful resolutions that uphold the standards of excellence and accountability expected from our institution. We remain committed to the principles of academic integrity, professionalism, and collaborative problem-solving. Our goal is not only to address immediate concerns but also to contribute to the continuous improvement and enhancement of the educational experience for current and future students.Business Response

In summer of 2023 I spoke with the director of the nursing program about attending Rasmussen university to finish the 5 credits that needed to complete an LPN degree. After taking an enterance exam, he told me that was possible and I could join the program and finish where I left off at my previuos school. As long as I finished their pre-requisite classes. During the Summer and Fall of 2023 I was taking the prerequisite classes in order to enroll into a LPN nursing program at Rasmussen university. However in December after they received payment from my *****, including government loans, they informed me that they do not have an LPN program and that I would have to complete the 2 year RN program. And that is actually the prerequisite classes that they had me taking. Due to this being a complete change in plans from what was previously discussed with the school I dropped out of the program in hopes to find an LPN program somewhere else as I already have substantial progress in LPN education from schooling at a different school. Despite this, Rasmussen has taken $8098 as a total from my ***** despite the amount of education I received from them being nowhere near that total. Additionally, when I looked onto the ***** website they mention me owing them roughly $9000. The discrepancy between these numbers and the misinformation provided to me about the value of their credit hours being around $200 per credit leads me to believe they are participating in fraudulent activity. When I called them to ask about these issues I was referred to an out-of-state financial department that told us to wait and see if anything updated. I made a second call to them where they sent me an email with a ledger detailing the price of all the classes and the program which they are actively charging me for despite never taking apart in the program.Business Response

Rasmussen is purposely failing students so that they are forced to repeat classes thus paying the university more money. I spent ****** dollars to have to transfer to another school after failing one class 3 times. I have passed this same class with a high grade on my first attempt at the school I transferred to. The classes I took at rasmussen cannot transfer to any other schools, the money I spent and the loans I took out was for nothing. The instructors do not even know what will be on the exams to properly teach us, we were being taught information that was not on the exams whatsoever.Business Response
